Silly Saturday....

Saturday, March 14, 2009

Silly Saturday has begun...now to find and watch for some sillies in my day. I will have to post something on the Silly Saturday post later.

I had such a good sleep last night. Went to bed at 10pm and woke up this morning at 8am...for me, that is amazing. I rarely sleep that long. My body must have really needed the rest. YAY, not a work day today, so was nice to provide my body with what it needed.

No major plans for the day other than household chores. I've decided it going to be a "whatever comes up" kind of day. A day of just enjoying going with the flow! No plans, no obligations, just pure enjoyment of whatever comes alone. I cherish these kinds of days.
Nancy have a great mini vacation...looking forward to hearing all about it when you get back.

My Positives:

A great sleep last night, feeling really restored.
It's Silly Saturday...keeping my eyes wide open for some silliness!
No obligations or plans ...a day for "whatever".
My angels who remind me that I am a"powerful, loving and creative child of God".
God who provides me with a new day to be that powerful, loving and creative child.

Thanks for stopping by...have a wonderful, blessed and silly day.

Hugs,
Wanda

Oops... Day late and dollar short they say... lol But I'm here now... lol
That was a little belated silliness for you... lol

I too love those kinda days... Hope it turned out to be a good day for you my friend...

I hope that your Sunday is as Serene as it gets for you... ( if that is what is your plan)

It has been that way for me today... We saw our first Blue Bird today and it was a Beautiful Male... so full of color... he was waiting his turn at the bird bath... The Blue Jay was hogging all the nice fresh water... hee hee
And I wish I could share the 2 rose blooms that appeared yesterday... They are a bright Red and so fragrant and Full... Awwwww Spring is finally here...

Now quit looking at all the snow Wanda... Close your eyes and pretend you are on your deck listening to those waves... lol

Enjoy my friend... lol

March 12

Thursday, March 12, 2009

We ended up with a beautiful sun shining day. Even the temperatures made it up to +2...woo hoo, some snow beginning to melt...just in time for the predicted snow fall every day next week! ARGGGG! when will winter end! lol.
Does anyone have a lovely piece of beach front property that I can pitch a tent on???? lol.
All I can say is the ground better really appreciate all this snow turning to moisture as it melts and helping the earth to come back to life whenever spring decides to make an appearance.

I'm in the middle of week two of the course in Artist's way and finding it rather interesting. I am still struggling to fill three pages in the morning before heading out the door for work, but I'm beginning to see some insights into things. I'm enjoying the program, even if I have had to modify slightly so that I'm enjoying the process and not feeling stressed by it. So what if I complete the twelve weeks and then decide to start at the beginning again and do it all over. I will have at least made steps forward and had a great learning experience while doing it. So thank you Nancy for encouraging me to take it along with you. I have so gotten a giggle out of identifying the "crazymakers" in my life! lol.

My positives:
I'm proud of finding a way to participate in the Artist's Way exercises in a way that I can enjoy without feeling stressed and having taken on more than I can handle right now.
SUNSHINE...MELTING...+2 TEMPERATURES ....okay, so in your world, that might not be exciting, but in my world, it's huge! lol
Tomorrow is Friday...another work week draws to a close.
Team mates who bless my day in ways they don't even realize.
God who helps me to see that life is meant to be lived and enjoyed, and that I don't need to do things the same way everyone else might to receive learning and spiritual growth.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderfully blessed evening.

Fabulous Friday tomorrow...let's toot our horns and let the world know how Fabulous we are.

Hugs,
Wanda

Wanda, so glad your temp made its way up, up, up!! I remember my first visit to my cousins' home in Illinois in December...What was I thinking? It was -17 F with a wind chill of -72 F! Literally my breath was turning to ice! Three days later it was a whole 3 F out and we went to downtown Chicago - It felt like a heat wave!!

Good for you in adapting The Artist's Way to fit into your schedule and still be able to do it. That's what life seems to be about - adapting.

Hugs,
Mauri

Come on down and pitch your tent in my back yard and we'll float in the pool. Although it's raining right now and we're having a cold snap. (must be one of those cold fronts out of Canada) I can't believe that I missed your blog yesterday. We are just on opposite ends of the day and in different time zones with our Sparking. I had some difficulty the other day getting my morning pages done and it will be tricky this weekend with travel and attention to my friend. But, it is going a long way to help work on that perfectionism problem! I was thinking that I would share a weekly "check in" with you. That would be like meeting in "class". I'll be doing that on Sunday and perhaps I'll e-mail it along. Enjoy the above freezing temps. +2 is pretty good. Doesn't look so good at a glance to us Farenheiters but when I convert I'm like "Oooh. That's almost warm. Have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend.
Love,
Nancy

Wandah, I so love the way you look at the world in a positive light. Now Arizona may not have beach front property, unless you mean lake front property, but you are always welcome to come visit to escape the cold.

Heat wave is still raging! We've dropped back down into the 30's and saw some sleet today but I think we will rebound quicker than it seems you are going to - more snow! Craziness! Do y'all always get this much snow?

Just a brief blog tonight to say all is well in my world. Busy day at work and I have some family time scheduled for tonight so want to get off the computer.

My positives:
Sunshine, beautiful sunshine...shining in my window at work for most of the day!
Warmer temperatures...-34 this morning but warmed up to -12 by this afternoon!
Shyra, who makes me laugh...she went and got her coat and mittens on, then pulled up her hood and sat down in the chair eating some ice cream! She really cracks me up.
Family time tonight with my girls and Garry.

Have a wonderful evening tonight.

Hugs,
Wanda

Aww, sweet family time, making those precious memories. We can't always be on the computer, sometimes we just get too busy with other things, that doesn't mean we aren't thinking of each other, it just means we had other things we had to or wanted to do. Enjoy your family time. I enjoyed my time today with DD and GS. Have a great thoughtful Thursday.

I'm glad we're not the only ones who see the value in not being on the computer 24/7 ... there are times it's a lifesaver to stay in close contact and other times when other aspects of life need to come into the foreground. What a great group we have. Glad I'm part of it. And always enjoy hearing what's going on with you.

Enjoy your family time!

Brrrrrrr, sure glad that shivering burns calories...at the rate I'm going, I should be skinny by night fall. Boy is it cold outside. -30's all day. When that wind starts blowing it's even colder. My poor vehicle despite being plugged in all night, really had a hard time turning over this morning.

Good day at work today, busy, just the kind I like. Hope you all had a good day too.

My positives:
A warm vehicle to drive to work in.
A warm home to sleep in and food on our table.
A warm jacket, mittens and boots.
A renewed appreciation of all that I have.
A wonderful daughter, who surprised me at lunch time with a "london fog" tea. She had gone to get herself one and thought of me! Bless her heart.
Garry who does so many running around errands for me, making my life easier.
A lovely long conversation yesterday evening with my aunt.
Facebook...so that I can see the lovely pictures that my sister-in-law is taking while working in Brussels.
Friends who motivate me and help to keep me grounded.

Have an awesome evening, thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,
Wanda

-30 is that Celcius or Farenheit? When DH and I walked @7:00AM this morning (Day 1) it was a 'balmy' 41 degrees F (in comparison!) - a heat wave for you!

My positive for today is our walk & I'm down 5lbs with all the better choices I've been making, yay!

Wanda, it is just toooooo cold where you live. Do you really have spring? That was very thoughtful of your daughter. We had some deviled eggs leftover so DH will have something to snack on, we love egg salad sandwiches to, they are good. I didn't do so well with my eating at the potluck tonight, like I told Nancy, it's only one meal and I did come home and ride my bike for 15 min. Have a good Monday evening.

Wanda - when you say your car is plugged in what do you mean? Do you have a heater that runs all night in it or do you have an electric car? Just curious.

How wonderful that your daughter thought of you when getting tea... Sounds delicious.

Stay warm my friend... Spring is just around the corner...But it may take a little longer to get all the way up to you... Start shoveling this way and I will keep pushing sunshine your way... lol

Me...Pushing more sunshine your way... And I will keep at it until you start to thaw... lol

Yet more snow!

Saturday, March 07, 2009

Woke up this morning to a white out and lots of snow. I'm beginning to think we have missed spring, summer, fall and we are right back into winter....anybody have some seasons they would like to share! lol.

We headed outside once the snow had stopped falling, it's actually rather nice and fresh outdoors. This is one side of our driveway.

This is the other side of the driveway.

This is the snowbank at the end of the driveway and by the main sidewalk. I can hardly lift the shovel high enough anymore to throw it over. The snowbank is taller than I am!

I'm thinking it will make a great fort, load myself down with plenty of snow balls and smack those junior high kids as they walk passed throwing their litter in our yard. No really, I wouldn't do that, cause it isn't all of them, most of them are very nice young people.

Side view of my "funky" (according to the girls) new glasses. I really like them. What a difference having the correct prescription makes! DUH! All the weight that I have eliminated so far has changed my prescription. I don't have the same type of pressure on my eyes from carrying all that weight and apparently it does make a difference. What a bonus! I'm thanking God daily for my new improved eyesight.

My positives:
It's stopped snowing for now!
Driveway and sidewalk are now cleared.
Two more loads of laundry done, only one to go
Garry volunteered to do the vacuuming for me. (I find it hard dragging the vacuum up and down 4 flights of stairs.(
So much positiveness on this team.
Great books to read this weekend....and one of them is The Artist's Way...thanks Bre and Nancy for the suggestion.

Have a wonderful silly Saturday...I'll be posting next weeks challenges a bit later, so stop by and see what you are being challenged to complete.

Hugs,
Wanda

That's a lot of white stuff. Curvy temples on those groovy glasses! If the kids thing they are funky, then they certainly are. I did my check-in for week one today and I can wait until Monday to start in on week two. So we'll be "enrolled in the course" together. So far it has been very helpful. Had a busy day doing yardwork with the Mr. Raking the lawn. Southern version of snow-shovelling. I think that I am going to jump into the pool. It is right around 69 degrees. Since I come from the North, I am part Polar Bear and Humpback whale, so I think it will be fun. Have a great Saturday and I will check out your new challenges when you post them.
Love,
Nancy
