Yay, Day 4 of my streak! 100 minutes total for the day. I plan on putting my feet up for the rest of the evening and just relaxing. Although I do know that there will still be several more times of up and down stairs yet before bed.

A short blog tonight...
My Positives:

Although it snowed today...at least it was not cold. The beginning of next week though as up to 10 cm of snow and -20. brrrrrrrr.
Day 4 of my exercise streak.
I'm improving on Wii Fit, I can almost do the yoga tree pose without wobbling to the point of needing to put my foot back down!
Lot's accomplished at work today.
Time to sit and relax this evening and hold the intention of relaxing enough to have a good sleep tonight.
Fabulous Friday tomorrow....YAY!

I'm taking myself off to spend an evening with Kaeli and catching up with each other. Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderfully blessed evening.

Hugs,
Wanda

Day 3 of my exercising streak...it's amazing how easy doing 10/hour really is. Sure I get a good head start first thing in the morning by doing my Wii Fit for 30 minutes, but getting up from my desk every hour at work and getting some moving in has been rather fun and creative. I save up all my away from desk tasks for those 10 minutes and then spend that time walking about to complete them as well as getting my refill on water. Even if I have to stand at a co-workers desk, I try to find ways of stretching or moving. My co-workers are beginning to question my sanity...but hey it brings a smile to their faces!

My co-worker, who joined SP is doing very well...she has eliminated 15 pounds already. She is still on track and excited about the changes she is seeing in how she views food.

I found out today that our director has been making some inquiries into having a noon hour fitness program started at work. They had a fitness instructor who works for the county come in and evaluate it's feasibility. I sure hope it flys...imagine the extra calories I can burn! woo hoo.

My positives:
Day 3 of my streak.
The possibility of a fitness program being started at work.
A productive day at work.
Finding out that it wasn't the 19th today only the 18th. Sorry for confusing anyone with putting the wrong dates down! lol.
Life and all it's blessings.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great evening.

Hugs,
Wanda

WTG Wanda on getting that 10/hour in... woo hoo you surely do rock...
And how cool it would be for you to get a fitness program started at work... I know you would love that one... You could be the motivator... lol

Keep up the great work my friend...

Wanda, as you know from reading my blog yesterday (thanks for the comments, btw and for the twist on that horror-scope), it's important that I do things as a team member - so when I do that stairway on each visit to the ladies' room, I imagine you walking with me 'cuz I know you're moving at work, too. Thanks for the inspirations...and the visits!

I enjoyed trying to visualize you sneaking in some form of "exercise" around your co-workers desks. Activity is key, that is for sure. Have fun playing your Wii tomorrow morning and have a great Thursday.

Thanks for the blog visit ... sounds like your workplace is getting downright supportive ... I am motivated by your 3 day streak (I'm on a 2 day streak) maybe after my warm bath I'll get up and do my treadmill so I do a 3 day streak too (it's been a stressful day but I think I can do this & I KNOW it will feel good afterward)! Thanks for the motivation! emoticon

I'm so pleased. As I woke up this morning, I was actually excited and looking forward to doing Wii Fit before heading out the door for work. Now to many, you might think, so what! But try having to do it at 5:30 am and still be at work by 6:15am. It worked very well, the TV was muted so the sound didn't wake anyone up...I did miss the sound though...my coach is so encouraging!!lol.

Because I was the only one at work until 8:30 am, I had time to get all my magazines received and do a tour of the library, so got in another 10 minutes of walking...now I'm up to 40 minutes and the day is still young.

That's when things kinda went on a downward curve. Yesterday, while we were closed the cleaning people decided it was a great opportunity to clean and wax all the floors in our department. That part was good, the bad part was the fact that the cleaning products they used did not agree with me.

I came home from work at noon today and headed straight to bed. I developed a major headache. Managed to last until noon when I started to feel a bit sick to my stomach. Because I don't tolerate medication well, I knew I needed to get home and lie down.

Yay...I'm feeling better, but I noticed when I looked in the mirror that I've been in a fight! My eyes were itchy and I must have rubbed my right eye a bit too hard...I now have a lovely bruise under my eye...looks like I got sucker punched! lol Oh well, tomorrow when I go to work, I'll just have to tell people "you should see the other guy!" Good thing that vanity is not my strong suit!

Feeling better allowed me to get some more walking in. I watched a TV program before having to go and get Shy from work...and I walked in place for 30 minutes.
Now my total is 70 minutes. On the way home from picking up Shy...we stopped at the grocery store to get some fixings for taco salads...I parked at the far end of the lot, so managed to get in some more steps. Don't really know how to count them as my pedometer battery is dead, so between walking around the store and to and from the vehicle, at least another 15 minutes of moving. Back home and while supper was cooking...the stairs called my name. I'm thinking that the evening is now mine to relax and just be....I'm claiming today as Day 2 of my 10/hour streak!

My positives:
Doing my Wii Fit this morning didn't interfere in anyone else's sleep.
Between what I can actual calculate for exercise and all the additional moving that I've done...Day 2 is complete.
My headache is almost gone.
Taco salad for supper....one of my favorites.
Time to relax and regroup this evening.
God who sees to my needs.
SP friends that show that they care about me. Thank you.

Thanks for stopping by and tomorrow is Writing Wednesday. I'll be posting the assignment this evening so check it out.

Hugs,
Wanda

Wanda, I actually thought of you last evening while watching the local news. In the town where John lives, they had an hazmat situation with fumes billowing out of an apartment building. Turned out that someone didn't have enough of two different cleaners, so decided to mix them. Chemical reaction developed - and not a good one! Luckily no one was severely stricken.

Hey, WTG on all that walking! This a.m. I had to relay with a rep from an organization that was using our Sun Safety coloring books for a winter festival. While waiting in a shopping center lot, I decided I could sit and listen to depressing news...or take a walk! The walk won!

Mindful blessings,
Mauri

I am so sorry you have these reactions to chemicals. It sure takes the "umph" out of us when we don't feel well. You do so awesome on your exercise. I have a long way to go to catch you.

Waking up excited about anything at 5:30 in the morning is a feat in itself! I was doing my Wii Fit every morning but got out of the habit, then dh took over the exercise room to work on the bathroom and I haven't gotten it back out. Sorry the chemicals made you sick - I think if they are that strong that they are mixing them to strong and should be diluted. That's not good for anyone!Congrats on another great day of movement!

Wanda way to go with getting in all that exercise, you are awesome. Sorry about your adverse reaction to the cleaning products. My feet feel so much better I don't want to take the tape off, still have 2-3 days were I can wear it before I have to take it off, I am looking forward to my next appointment and see what can be done to give me relife everyday. Maybe now I'll be able to start walking again, I really miss that. Ummm, taco salads sound very good. Have a good evening and a better tomorrow.

Feb 16th Alberta's Family Day.

Monday, February 16, 2009

Today was a holiday in Alberta, not every province in Canada celebrates Family Day, and not every business in Alberta celebrates Family Day. Today, Shy and I (and Q) had the day off work, but Garry and Kaeli had to work. Not exactly a family day, but a good day none the less.
The opportunity to make a nice dinner was an added bonus today. Shy and I got some mall walking in and spent the afternoon visiting with each other.

I decided that I'm no longer content to be on this plateau that I've been on for the past few months. It's time to step things up and getting that scale going on a downward trend once again. Not that the scale defines me, but I haven't reached my goal yet. The bonus is, I have remained stable only fluctuating up or down a couple of pounds.

After reading a team mates blog about how she has made the decision to exercise 10 minutes every hour...it got me doing some thinking. I decided that I would challenge myself this week. For every hour that I am awake, I will also exercise 10 minutes. So far today, I have exercised for 85 minutes. Still some exercising to do...but the evening is young.
As a result of my challenging myself...I am having to change my morning SP time. I am going to do my Wii Fit exercises for 30 minutes first thing in the morning before heading for work. Just a heads up to everyone, that I will not necessarily be logging on first thing as I usually do. I will be once again taking my coffee breaks at work and walking, that will give me an added 30 minutes, so by the time I get home from work...I'll have time to sit down and catch up on SP and the team and then have time to do somemore exercising while watching the news. I will be checking in each day, just not always in the morning.

My Positives

Family day...a day off work.
Quality time spent with Shy.
Motivated to put some kick into my exercising.
Got my affirmations done, I just need to post them up in the house.
A nice supper made for the family.
So far, 85 minutes of exercise completed today.

Have a wonderful evening, thanks for stopping by and I'll check in after the news.

Hugs,
Wanda

Wanda, what a great way to kick it up a notch! For me it's been the back stairs at work. Every time I go to the ladies' room, I do two trips up & down those stairs...So far today I've done 6 trips! Of course, I have no choice but to get my steps up and exercise in to help my Shape Up RI team!!!

Mauri

Just catching up. Sounds like serene/productive Sunday. There is serenity in the household chores and that wonderful sense of healthy accomplishment. You set a "shining" (refers to your clean floors) example. Thanks for living the Healthy Lifestyle. It is a great support.
