Friday the 13th.....

Friday, February 13, 2009

In some people's eyes Friday the 13th spells a day of caution and superstition. For me, I like to view it as Fabulous Friday. It's all in the way you look at things. That old "law of Attraction" again!

It has been a wonderful day.
Here's my day in a nut shell or my positives as I like to see it.

* day off work, so got to sleep in.
* Shy was feeling better (thank you for your prayers team), she headed out the door for work today.
* I was able to read lots of posts in the morning instead of having to wait until after work to see what you have all been up to.
* Spent the morning shopping at one of my favorite stores. Made a dent in the gift card that I received as a Christmas present. "Laura's" was having a big sale. I picked up a smart skirt regular price$88.00 for $14.95! woo hoo. I also managed to find a very nice ribbon crochet sweater...it wasn't on sale, but I had the lovely gift card!
* Garry didn't have to work this afternoon, we met for lunch at my new favorite restaurant Burriot Libra. I had the burrito in a bowl (it comes minus the tortilla shell). You get to choose all your veggies, which they layer on some rice.
* we finally made it into the city to submit our passport applications. We have had them ready to go for ages, but just never had the time off together to go in. Yay, we were only at the government office for 1.5 hours. There was a glitch in Garry's application, but by keeping a positive attitude it all came together and was accepted. We should have our passports by the end of March.
* home in time to pick up Shy from work.
* an evening ahead of me to relax and do some reading.
* laundry is almost complete.
* so many wonderful "goodies" received from SP friends...thank you for blessing my day with your thoughtfulness.

So as you can see...it's been a Fabulous Friday.

Happy Valentine's day to everyone.

Hugs,
Wanda

Thoughtful Thursday....

Thursday, February 12, 2009

Thoughtful Thursday...such a great day to be more aware of the opportunities to random acts of kindness. Today I had the opportunity to share a cup of tea with my brother as he traveled through. I took the time out of my day to meet him at the truck stop. We had a great visit.
I was also able to interact with my co-workers in many different ways today. Living in awareness, really does provide a clearer sight.

Poor Shyra had a rough day today. She has been experiencing an acute ileitus episode. It's been about four years since her last attack. It started yesterday and she thought it was just a stomach ache, but as the pain increased, she was able to recognize it for the pain that accompanies this chronic inflamation. She stayed home from work and as there is no real treatment, she dealt with it for the most part by soaking in a tub of warm water, taking tylenol and drinking lots of green tea, plus the ever ready wheat bag heated up and place on her abdomin. She is feeling somewhat better now and figures she will go to work tomorrow. Thank you Lord for helping the pain to pass and her ileium to settle back down.

My positives:

Sharing a cup of tea with my brother, whom I don't see that often.
Lots accomplished at work today.
Tomorrow is an extra day off for me as well as Monday, which in Alberta is called "Family day". Yay, a four day weekend.
Shy not requiring emergency room visit.
A head start on my laundry chores.
A wonderful thoughtful Thursday.
Living in awareness, what an amazing experience it is.

Have a wonderful evening all....remember tomorrow is Fabulous Friday...toot those horns.

Hugs,
Wanda

Nice that you had tea with your sibling. What a nice change in your routine! Congrats on successfully choosing better interactions with the co-workers. I'm sorry for Shy's pains but glad that she made choices that helped her not suffer too long. Enjoy your time off from work. Have a fabulous Friday! And a fantastic long weekend.
Love,
Nancy

Wanda, Glad to hear that you were able to spend some time with your brother. Praying for Shy for healing and that this was her last episode of ileitus. Bless her for knowing what to do to help ease it.
I never even thought of it being Thoughtful Thursday as I went through the neighborhood returning things that the wind blew into our yard. Yippee for me. Thinking of you on this Fabulous Friday!! Mayyou have a great one!!
Blessings and hugs,

I've never heard of ileitus. I'm allergic to corn and my stomach can get upset quite easily. The symptoms sound quite similar. I spend many days/evenings with the heating pad on my stomach and back. It's no fun and I'm glad that she is feeling better. I need to try the green tea next time I have a flare up. =o)

Do every have one of those days...

Tuesday, February 10, 2009

Did you every have one of those days when you just seem to really connect with someone in a very deep way? Where you feltl like you connected soul to soul?

Today was one of those days for me. I got home from work and had all of about 30 minutes to spend with Q before he had to head out the door for work. Today, just seemed the right day to converse about a subject that has intrigued me and caused me to do research into for many years now....Indigo Children. If you have never heard about them or delved into their existence...be of open mind and read about them. They truly do exist...Q is one of them. This was a conversation that was in it's right timing. You just know that what you are sharing is in the right moment and reaching that level that you have not touched before.

Q has always known that he was somehow different and that he did not think the way many of his peers or even others think. He just didn't know why he was so different and because of our lack of understanding when he was much younger and societies lack of comprehension, his younger years have been very difficult. In my heart, I knew that he was indeed not only a gift from God, but that he had a special purpose and mission in this life.

It wasn't until just over 10 years ago that I heard the expression "Indigo Child" and was drawn to explore it more. What an eye-opener....this was my son...no denying it. As I learned more and studied and researched as much information that I could get my hands on, I grew more and more certain about what is happening in our world. I'm excited to see the future and excited to be apart of God's plan.

Q and I shared some very deep conversation about things I have learned. What was so thrilling for me, was see the validation appear in his eyes. That inner sense of "finally" someone understands. He was able, in the short time that we had today, to convey to me tremendous interest in continuing our conversation, but also to confirm a gift that he has and I've suspected for sometime.

I am so looking forward to sharing more time with him and hopefully with God's guidance help him to embrace who he is. An amazing young man.

My positives:
My conversation with Q.
All three of my children, who God has placed with us and given us guardianship over.
Emails from friends that think of me through out their day. Thank you all of you.
Sunshine. Temperatures are below zero, but that sunshine makes it feel wonderful.
Talking Tuesday and the opportunities that exist.
Knowing that God is leading me in certain directions and being willing to follow.
Life.

Have a wonderful evening.

Hugs,
Wanda

    Wanda,
Each time I see something that you have written, I feel more connected. Many years ago I picked up a book on Indigo children and in 2003 saw the movie "Indigo" which I think was co-written by Neal Donald Walsh and he starred as the grandfather.
I get you, Wanda. You are amazing!

I'm glad you got to have a meaningful conversation with Q. I had heard the term "indigo child" but never really known what it meant. Your post has prompted me to dig a little deeper. How fascinating. I can see how some of those traits would make for a rough childhood.

The Indigo son of an Indigo mother...that's what I think. Funny, I read others' comments before I posted...and Nancy and I had the same thought. I, too, thought of the Transfiguration! Those moments are such an amazing gift of the spirit! I am so happy that you have had that experience with Q! I'm smiling!

Mindfully positive,
Mauri

I'm so glad that you had such a good connection with your son. But, frankly, from all your posts and comments on other people's blogs, and your guidance of the positive bloggers, I think you really connect with people in a deep, soul to soul way, maybe more than you realize. You have great insight, and perhaps your son is an indigo child because you have the traits of insight and compassion as well. Just a thought. emoticon Janet

(I am going to answer your question first) . . .once in a(n) blue (indigo) moon. Moreso when I remain open and centered. (how was that answer?) Nice cosmic gift with the son spirit. A treasure. That will buoy you up for a bit. I am always reminded of the biblical story of the Transfiguration at times like this. Those wonderful and powerful spiritual glimpses make you want to "set up camp". But we are called to come down off the mountain for there is work to do. But the memory of the mountain is what fuels our fire. Now that your fired up, I expect great things from both you and Q. (no pressure, just a tease!)

Nancy

From reading yours and other team members blogs, I see I need to go to our team page to learn about these daily challenges/themes.

Sounds like you had a bit of a breakthrough with Q. We all want to know we are OK and even special in our uniqueness. Giving another person validation of who they are has to be the greatest gift anyone can ever give. Receiving that gift from a parent, well, nothing is better than that!

I rec'd some surprise validation tonight from DH - I was going to tell you about it here but it got to long and I decided to write my own blog about it =O).

Congrats on another positive day.

Wanda you had a blessed day for sure, especially with Q. Thanks for stopping by my blog, I was so glad I went to the meeting tonight, when I pulled into the parking lot there in the west sky was this huge beautiful star all by it self, so brilliant and pure, then when I came out to come home there it was, the biggest, brightest, full moon just hanging there in the sky. If I hadn't went to the meeting I would have missed those amazing handiworks of our Father. I came home with such an inner peace. The meeting went well I listened more then talked, but that's ok. May you and Q have many more great conversations and connections. I am glad you had one of those days.

Blessings,
Shirl

Wanda, That must have been some experience today to be able to communicate with Q the way you did... I think that is awesome... Good Luck with future discussions.
I think I have problems communicating with some people... I have tried to be mindful of how I am communicating but sometimes I get frustrated because I'm not understood or perceived that way I mean things... Not sure if that makes since or not... At any rate... Good for you...

Have a great evening...

Motivation Monday...boy have I been motivated. I stopped by to read the blogs and I'm proud to say we have some very motivational people on this team. Reading them got me motivated to get some of my things done. Thank you to Mauri for also helping me to see numbers in a whole new light!

My positives:
Great connections with people at work and through work today...work issues solved easily by starting conversations off in a positive way.
Even though it's snowing again right now...the quiet that exists in the air is very peaceful.
I don't have to cook tonight...there are lots of leftovers in the fridge and it will be a help-yourself supper tonight. Yay...I can have my favorite...cereal! I know, technically it's not a leftover...but it does mean I can have it.
Found the vitamins at the drug store that the eye doctor wants me to start taking...I'm not big on taking pills of any sort...but when it comes to my eyes...I'll do what is necessary.
Great thing that I stopped at the drug store as the display of Quick Tax software at the door reminded me that I needed to pick up this years version so I can get our income tax done.
A blessed day, because I chose to see it that way.

Many hugs, I trust that your day was also very blessed.

Hugs,
Wanda

Wanda, glad I was able to help!! Had lots more numbers in my head - like paying bills, checking, savings, insurance...OH NO! emoticon ME! Hahahaha...

Words are powerful...but I think the way in which we use them is far more so. As I wrote to someone on one of my other teams this week, I don't write beautifully. I try to write thoughtfully. Big difference.

Enjoy the silence of the snow...okay...did I really write that???????????????????

I love how peaceful, calm and quiet the world gets when it snows. Doesn't happen much here in TN though! It was in the mid 60's today and has been all weekend. I've been enjoying the early spring breezes with our windows raised. DH walked in the bedroom last night and remarked on how fresh it smelled. =O)

Ahhhh, another serenity Sunday...sure do love these Serenity days. Taking the time to meditate and refocus. Calming the busy thoughts flashing around in my brain. Deep breathing and relaxing.

A great day... I headed out to the grocery store to stock up on groceries and lunch fixings for the next week. Lots of fruits and vegetables. Popped a couple of frozen eye of round roasts in the oven on low heat to slowly cook all day. Now the guys have roasts to cut up for sandwiches. One of their favorite types of sandwiches. Then Garry and I headed out the door to make the rounds of the home improvement stores, gathering yet more ideas and prices for all the projects we would still like to do in the renovation department. Then off to view a bunch of new showhomes to gather further ideas. Saw some nice ones and some not so nice ones.
Home again for a couple of hours and then we headed out to use up a gift certificate that Garry had received. Went to East Side Marios and had great caesar salads and room to have a shared dessert too!

Now it's home again and time to do my blog, watch Extreme Home Makeover and head for bed.

Hope everyones day was fully blessed, I know mine was.

My Positives.
Time with family and couple time.
Some great ideas gleaned from the show homes and home improvement stores.
Dinner out.
Meditation time.
And of course God who always blesses me with wonderful days and many many positive moments.

Hugs,
Wanda

weather I'll be a little more at ease.. Dinner last night with Garry was a great treat.. Glad that you both enjoyed.. Keep your Home Improvement ideas flowing.
I missed the Extreme Makover show.. I think that it was for a Fam in Hartford CT.. Only 1/2 hr from me..We had the Grammy Awards on instead..Sob..Hugs Polly
