Back to Reality!

Sunday, January 04, 2009

Ahhhh the sun sets on another holiday, time to get back into the real world of work!

As much as I have enjoyed this past couple of weeks off work, I am ready to head back tomorrow morning. I miss the routine and the busy routine! I'm not sure I would make a great candidate for retirement. As much as I do look forward to it, I need to be busy and active. If I'm going to be busy and active, I might as well be earning a wage too!

I made a nice eye of round roast for supper tonight, along with veggies and potatoes. I figured I would start the week off great for the family. Now they will have meat for sandwiches as well as leftovers for their lunches tomorrow.

We warmed up a great deal today, only -15! Woo Hoo, but Garry's car has not liked the cold weather. It's signals have gotten crossed some how and now although it starts, it shuts itself back off again! Very strange, it will mean a call to AMA tomorrow to have it towed to the shop. Garry thinks it has something to do with the anti-theft system. All I can say, Lord, please don't let it cost alot".

My Positives.
Got the new challenge posted for this coming week.
Supper made, dishes done.
Took some meditation me time.
Made preparations for going back to work tomorrow.
Gathered up all the library books to return.
Weather was definitely warmer...actually felt rather balmy out there today.
Learning that when I'm in a cranky mood, I need to do an attitude adjustment and fast!

Have a wonderful evening all,

Okay time to do my challenge! Reflections of 2008

Friday, January 02, 2009

If you had to pick a theme of growth for 2008, what would it be?

Learning that when God is directing my path, He is not asking me to go it alone!

What did you most need to learn?

To believe in myself and trust the directions I am receiving from my guides.

What changes have you made that let you know you got the lesson?

I'm no longer willing to hide. I'm stepping out in faith and trust.

What one thing are you still beating yourself up about?

When I look outside of God and self for validation.

Are you ready to do what it takes to put an end to this hurtful behavior?

Yes...and with God's help I will succeed.

Okay, then. What do you need to do right now to get started?

I need to add to my daily positives affirmations the statement " I am God's creation, I am a work in progress".

What did you accomplish last year that made you feel good about yourself and how did you celebrate?

My biggie! I stepped out in faith and started the Positive Bloggers team. I'm celebrating daily and Thanking God for the awesome and wonderful people that He has brought and continues to bring to this team.

If you didn't celebrate, what will you do this week?

I celebrate daily.

How was 2008 perfect for you?

I have learned to be very open to all of God's directions in my life, through my spirit guides, the angels and God's voice.

What happened, good or bad, that forced you to wake up and see your life with clarity and truth?

I'm not sure I can pin point any one thing, it has been an ongoing learning process and as I've gained the confidence in certain areas of my life, the amazing results have caused me to continue to evalute where I am heading, how, and why.

Finally, as you think back over the last year, take some time to think about the people who influenced your growth - the ones who hurt you and the ones who supported you - and, in your own private way, thank them for their contribution to your life.

Done, even those thorns in my side! lol. For without them, I would not have learned to change those same areas within my self.

My Positives.

Groceries shopped for, even though the temperature was at -40 this morning! Definitely a numbing experience outdoor today!
New books to pick up at the library today.
This team that keeps on being so positive and supportive.
I got my challenge done!
I stayed on track today and have a renewed excitement about continuing on my journey to a healthier lifestyle.
God who in His infinite wisdom shows me that I am His creation.

Have a fabulous evening. Silly Saturday tomorrow...so get your sillies on!

New Years Day 2009

Thursday, January 01, 2009

It's here...a brand new year to make into what ever I desire! YAY!

Today has been a busy day, doing busy things. We have almost all the decorations taken down and repacked for another year. Laundry almost all done(again!).
A trip to Home Depot to look at some different flooring! (yet again!)lol.
A trip to WorkWear House to get Garry another pair of longjohns. It's so cold out -33 that he needs more longjohns!
Back home again and I made a phone call to Garry's auntie Agnes. It's been years since we've actually seen each other, but I like to keep in touch with her. She is such a wonderful woman. Has had a very hard life, but loves family and family get-togethers. We are hoping that perhaps this spring or early summer, we can make the trip to go and see her. Time to put that desire into action hey!

My positives:
A brand new year unfolding before me to become the person that I choose to become.
Talking with Garry's aunt.
A scouting trip to the hardware store to look at flooring.
Time spent with Garry.
I don't have to cook today, Shy is sick and Garry doesn't feel up to a big meal. Yay!
Emails from friends.
Almost all the Christmas decorations have been stored away for another year.
Laundry almost complete.
Life...it's just so darn good.

Have a wonderful evening.

-33 and you wouldn't see me leaving our apartment till spring, lol, no seriously. Can't imagine being out in that cold, brrrrrrr! I'd probably have triple longjohns on if I did go out. Yes, this new year is going to be exciting.

December 31....this is it, the end of another year!

Wednesday, December 31, 2008

Today has been a busy day, finishing up all those last minute things. Making sure that tomorrow is a really fresh start and there are no leftover to do's to bring into the new year.

I even accomplished my "thoughtful Thursday assignment" Our neighbours must be away as their driveway and sidewalk having been shoveled as yet and the snow is getting pretty deep. I was a nice neighbour and did it for them! Took me an hour of shoveling to get it all done, but think of all the calories I burned as well as the wonderful feeling I have for having done something nice and unexpected for someone else. Now, if it snows anymore, at least it won't be so hard to keep cleaned.

My positives.
My "to do" list is complete.
Supper preparations are ready,
Burned lots of calories today.
Did my Writing Wednesday assignment.
Got a lovely card from our Nancy Jane.
Took Kaeli to drop off some resumes.
Rented some games for the Wii, this way we will have lots to do over the weekend.
Thank you to all who have sent me such beautiful ecards. They are so lovely, and although I didn't get any sent out, you are all wished the best the 2009 has to offer.
A new year tomorrow to be successful in.
A positive attitude.
God who has blessed me so abundantly and who I willing serve.

Happy New Year.

How nice of you to do acts of kindness! Hey, do you know you can get your calorie count for shoveling? Yep-it is a lot of calories. So Wanda, you did 2 good deeds, 1 for your neighbor, and 1 for yourself.
Happy New Year!

Wanda, I think you've banked an infinity of thoughtful Thursdays by starting this team...and before that, by starting this thread of positive blogs. So, cleaning your neighbor's driveway is just an added bonus...by a woman we all know is the tops!! Thank you.
Happy New Year to you, Garry, Shyra, Kaeli & Q! Enjoy the Wii!!

I haven't gotten the timing of the mail to Canada down yet. I sent that card quite some time ago. BUT yahoo! You got mail! That is good enough! Thank you for the writing assignment for the week. It was nice to reflect and review as I prepare for the new year. I am totally expecting wonderful things in the New Year. I look forward to sharing some wonderfully exciting times with you and the team. Have a great evening! Happy New Year to you and your family

Yay, I did it!

Tuesday, December 30, 2008

I did it, I did it! I got my New Year's letter all done, formatted as a PDF file, pictures included, sent a trial copy to Garry at his work to see if it came through okay and when he confirmed it, got my letter sent! Woo Hoo! all done for another year! lol.

One more thing off my "to do" list. Boy this is great. Helps when you de-clutter your office/computer/craft room. The energy has room to flow again! I had such fun be creative with my letter. I'm excited about how well it turned out.

Sad news...my co-worker that has been away on sick leave, lost her battle on Sunday with cancer. My prayers and thoughts are with her family at this time. I need to phone work to see if there are any more details as to a service etc. The blessing is that she is now home with the Lord and free from all the pain. Two months since her diagnosis.

My positives:
My letter is done and sent.
I've discovered that having a de-cluttered area to work in, works wonders for the creativity!
It's Talking Tuesday and I've talked lots via my fingers and a keyboard. Woo Hoo, over 20 letters sent.
It's a beautiful day outside, cold but still sunny and beautiful. Snow expected for tomorrow though. Plus side to that...it's New Year's eve and maybe people will drive responsibly.

Have a wonderful New Years Eve, stay safe and don't forget it's a new year ahead to make it what you want.

Wanda, I add my condolences to others on the loss of your co-worker.

Don't you just love the end of the year when you can look back and see all that you have acomplished...all the gifts you've received in friendships, family, etc.? I do...I love New Year's Eve alone...so that I can reflect on all the positive things life has for me!

Hugs and Happy 2009!

I'm so sorry to hear about your co-worker. Only two months after the diagnosis. My heart and prayers go out for her family.

I'm glad you had fun working on your letter in your newly decluttered space! I'm making a point to work on my many cluttered areas a little each day. You're an inspiration to me for that goal!

I hope you have a safe and happy new year's celebration and all my best wishes for what the new year has in store for you!
