Wishing all of you a Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy your time with family and friends, rejoice over all the blessings that you have.

My positives:

Friends who seem to always know just what I need. Thank you.
Having assistance with dealing with a difficult situation at work.
Opportunity to relax tonight and enjoy just being.
Payday today....yay!
God in my life, who gives me strength and helps me to be all that He created me to be.
Although I'm very tired tonight, I know that it is just a result of mental stress from the day and that with God's leading I am letting it go and He is taking care of it.

Have an absolutely wonderful evening, keep on smiling and enjoying life.

Hugs,
Wanda

A brief blog tonight

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

I'm just posting a brief blog tonight. I feel the need to spend some time in prayer and meditation.

I received an email from our team mate Shirl (yoyonomore). Their family has suffered a deep tragedy and are in tremendous need of prayers and support. Team mates please see the chit chat lounge. Please add your prayer support to Shirl and her family.

Thanks,
Many hugs,
Wanda

Upside down view!

Monday, November 24, 2008

This was definitely one of those days! Nothing in particular and yet everything at the same time. A strange day!

Shy got the extra hours that she had applied for, they finally became official today....much needed and she's very thrilled. There is a full-time permanent position coming up in our department, in fact my old job that she is going to apply for too. Please keep her in your prayers as she really needs the permanent hours and full-time. It should get posted in the next couple of weeks and mostly likely start in January. So many changes happening all of a sudden.

My positives:

I chose to look at life today from a different perspective!
Life is wonderful because I choose to see it that way.
God blesses me every day.
My family and friends.

Live like there's no tomorrow.

Hugs,
Wanda

Where did Serenity Sunday go????

Sunday, November 23, 2008

I woke up this morning feeling very sluggish and ho hum. Noticed that my attitude was not all it could be, especially when Garry asked me "what did you eat for breakfast this morning...grouch cereal?" Oh, oh, time for an attitude adjustment!

Took myself off to my computer/craft room for some alone time and shone the mirror on myself and my attitude. Ouch....not looking too good, no wonder everyone was scattering when they saw me coming!

As I looked around my computer room, I realized just how cluttered up it was...no wonder I was feeling chaotic! I needed to get it cleaned up. Feng Shui time! First step was to haul out the paint can and finish painting the broom closet that I managed to get primed last weekend. That done, I could start putting things back in the closet and throwing out the useless stuff. Even managed to talk nicely to Garry and he took a vehicle full of stuff from my computer room to the donation depot. I could feel the stress lifting. All that stuff that we had left sitting in the middle of the floor in the basement to take to the donation depot had eventually made it up stairs to my computer room, but hadn't made it out of the house! All gone now....YAY! Quin even helped Garry carry downstairs two lovely wooden shelving units that had been donated to us. Garry had wanted to use them in the garage, but I vetoed that, they were too nice, and besides Shy could really use them in her bedroom. Even she has been busy straightening up things in her room. The whole atmosphere in the house just feels so much better....or maybe it's just that my attitude has made an adjustment and I feel so much better...what ever, it's just plain nice!

Quin and Garry hauled out all the outside decorations and they have been outside most of the day putting up the Christmas things...probably felt it was safer outside! It's a beautiful day out, no coats needed even! The weather couldn't be nicer!

My positives:

Realized that my attitude was setting the tone for everyone....attitude adjustment time!
Cleaned up the clutter and chaos in the computer room, downstairs and the garage.
Finished painting the broom closet and things are restored to order.
Shy loves her new shelves in her bedroom, thank you to a friend who no longer needed them in their home due to their re-modelling.
Serenity Sunday has been restored in our home.
Donations all out of the house now, at least until the next time I start going through closets! lol.
Got my major monthly grocery shopping all done today...yay...food in the house again!
God who reminds me that I am responsible for changing my attitude and how it affects those around me.

Have a great day everyone, mine is much improved!

Hugs,
Wanda emoticon

Wanda, I read your spark page and absolutely LOVE what you wrote about choices! You are right! Stuff happens to everyone, but it is how we respond and how we choose to respond that makes the difference. And I loved reading here about how you cleaned up some clutter. I have clutter on my guest bed that has been there for 2 years! Do you think it's time to clear my clutter?
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I am proud of you and I thank you for modeling that positive behavior. I worked very hard on attitude adjustment this weekend also. I am feeling stronger for the "work out". Recognizing the decline and taking action to get back to center is something new for me. But ignoring my responsibility for my own attitude is no longer an option for me. It makes me unhealthy. Good job Wanda! As always, you are my POSITIVE reinforcement. Thanks for the Motivation this Monday. (guess your work is done here)
Love,
Nancy

Way to go on all your positives! and for realising how attitude affects others! Sometimes we can get so intra-focused that we foget we are relational people and therefore our actions and moods affect those around us, esp those close to us!
Thanks for reminding us of that! Gonna work on the attitude adjustment! :)

Saturday November 22

Saturday, November 22, 2008

What an unexpected bonus in my day today. After yoga, I came home and put some laundry on the go. Realized that I was going to have to make a store run for more laundry detergent. Phone Costco first, as I had some Christmas oranges I'd bought last week and wanted to take back as a third of the box was spoilt! I had checked the box before purchasing them, but they turned very quickly even while in cool storage. Not problem, Costco was very apologetic and returned my money, which I promptly spent on laundry detergent. Back home again to continue with laundry.
Decided that I was not up to attempting the painting that is still needed in the downstairs bathroom, instead I chose to do some mall walking in the city, gathering ideas for Christmas. I like looking in the stores and then coming home and figuring out how I can give what I saw by making it myself. I wandered by the "Bluenotes" store, and remembered my Granddaughter saying it was her favorite store. Seeing as I need to mail gifts to her and Canada Posts crazy rates and my past experiences with them, I decided that the cost of a gift certificate would be less than making something and shipping it. Besides she will enjoy being able to shop at her favorite store. That gift now out of the way, I continued to look around. I needed a new pair of pants, stopped by the Northern Reflections store to see what they had on sale. WOO HOO....I bought a new pair of cords for $10.80. They were regular $59.99 on sale for 39.99 and because I had been earning points over the past year, and I happened to mention that they were a birthday present to myself, they gave me an additional 10% off. So with the points value and the added 10% off...I paid $10.80 for the pants. Not a bad deal!
Tomorrow, I'm heading to Ikea, as they have shadow box picture frames on sale. I want to pick up a couple to create some pictures. Quin took some lovely pictures of the Athabasca Sand Dunes this summer, I want to print off the pictures and add some real sand to make some very unique pictures boxes. More Christmas gifts...yippee! I also need to wait until Shy is not home so that I can make some bath products seeing as she is on the list to receive them!

My positives:
Yoga to get me started on having a wonderful day.
Bargains at the stores...love those bargains.
Christmas ideas are flowing and I'm excited about creating them.
Laundry complete.
A wonderful surprise parcel in the mail yesterday from Nancy...made my day for two reasons...1) the only mail that I usually get is bills! 2) put humor back into a very stressful day....Thank You Nancy, your gift means more than words can say.
All of the heart warming comments that I find on my sparkpage....thank you to each of you who stops by and touches my heart...they really are so much appreciated.
The cutest little cub scout delivering my order....I always try to help them out on their fundraisers. He was so proud of how well he had done in raising funds...$1000. Way to go!
The weather...a balmy +8 today....amazing weather, well above average!
All of my Spark family, who continue to inspire and encourage each other as well as me.

love this quote:

He is a man of sense who does not grieve for what he has not, but
rejoices in what he has.

Wanda - I hadn't realized how creative you are! What a surprise!!! Although I'm not "making" gifts this year.. I am creating gift baskets.... pizza pan, pizza mix, pepperoni, pizza cutter.... spaghetti, colander, cheese & sauce... plus putting together bath products from Avon to give as gifts. When you use your imagination you can come up with anything. Glad your day went well. Love, Marla

I love your day yesterday... Sounds like a trip to the mall was just what you needed... So many ideas you can get from looking around...
I love the idea of making bath products... I did a basket one year for my Step daughter... But I didn't make the products... Not sure I would know how to do that... lol

My Christmas will be very easy this year... Just sending $$ to the kids and grandkids and Andy an I just decided that we have our new home and that is all that we need...

Hope you Sunday is a nice one...
