Fabulous Friday...yes it is!

Friday, November 07, 2008

Another Fabulous Friday has rolled around and it's just one of those days that started off so well with giggles and has just continued all day with getting better and better. Hmmmm, I wonder if attitude has anything to do with it????? LOL.

I love Fabulous Fridays...you start your day off with considering what is a fabulous about yourself, and once you've done that, it kinda stays with you all day and brightens your day up. Then I know that when I get home from work, there'll be even more Fabulousness to read about on the posts and in the blogs from this team!

Today was a great day at work, lots was accomplished, budgets are getting spent right on time for the most part and it was another one of those "crazy" Fridays with random conversations sparking even more randomness! Our department has now been dubbed "the loony bin"!

My positives:
It's Fabulous Friday, the end of a work week with a great weekend to look forward to,
Came home from work to find that my husband has everything ready to start painting the walls in the hallway tomorrow. Yippee! Surprise...he had today off. (Can you tell we really communicate? lol)
It didn't snow today!
Kathy's absolutely amazing accomplishment of finding all those positives in an otherwise bumpy day.
Shirl's successful surgery. Theresa is on the mend. New members.
It's just one of those days that life is just so thrilling.

PS...I'm reading a wonderful book..."Every Word Has Power" by Yvonne Oswald....check it out!

Have a wonderful evening, counting your blessings is the quickest way to creating joy in your life.

What a wonderful surprise to find Gary ready to proceed with painting. The only thing better would be if it were already done. LOL I was going to ask how the painting was going the other day and as with so many things it just went out of my mind. Got to start making notes.

It seems it is a very fabulous friday indeed.

November 6

Thursday, November 06, 2008

Yay, I got two large deadline orders entered into our system and sent today! Woo Hoo.

As a result, my eyes are tired from looking at the computer screen and down to tiny print and back up to the screen all day.

This is short and sweet today, I'm off to rest my tired eyes.

My positives.

Life is wonderful.
I accomplished some thoughtful deeds today and feel really good about them.
I'm on track and doing well.
I'm excited as it appears that Shy will gain some extra hours at work, something she really needs right now. They are only temporary for the time being, but could work into permanent down the line.
Got 7 lovely Christmas cards made last night....now who do I send them too????
I have a box of blankets and warm things to take this weekend to the shelter.
I start Yoga classes on Saturday morning.
God in my life and His endless blessings.

Have a super evening,

KathyL, what a wonderful suggestion. Thank you. I love the idea of sending them randomly to someone in the phone book.

Here is an idea, take those lovely cards you made, open the phone book shut your eyes and point to an address, write them a thoughtful note/day brightener and just send 7 random acts of kindness.
If you don't like that idea we could all send you our addresses : + )

Wanda - I have extra gloves, scarfs & hats that I'll be taking to a shelter too. I'm going to call my sisters to see if they have any donations... I'm sure they have plenty of "stuff" just laying around. Isn't it funny how we take some things for granted when the homeless would give about anything to have them. Like a pair of gloves or hat on a cold winter night? It's a good thing you're doing Wanda. Makes me so proud to be your friend. Love you, Marla

Writing Wednesday

Wow, You get up in the morning and things are the same, You come home from work, log on and look at the wonderful changes that SP has made. I'm enjoying this new format! emoticon

Heavy frost on the wind shield this morning, required a bit of effort on my part to clear it before heading down the street to work. Ahhhh, just know that snow is coming! I need a new snow shovel this year, so on the agenda for this weekend.

Most of my orders and in coming magazines today all were dealing with 2009. Yikes! it's just around the corner. Who swiped 2008????

My positives:
A day filled with blessings.
I am going out this evening to an evening of Christmas card creativity! Yes, that is Christmas cards!
So many wonderful posts and blogs to read when I got home today.
An email from Kaeli....did I tell you that she got to hold a 2500 year old baby on the weekend. They guessed the approximate age to be about 6 months old, had 2 tiny little teeth and several tooth buds still in the jaw. How cool is that!
Inspirational blog from Kathy about how wonderfully God answers prayer.
This team that just continues to lift each other up and gives so much encouragement.

Keep on living your life to the fullest.

Perfect day

Monday, November 03, 2008

This is on it's way according to the weather reports, but I'll thinking that even if we do get the predicted snow, it won't last. It's still too nice outside!

What a great day. I had the day off work, did not accomplish any of the painting that I had planned, but did accomplish finishing off some other projects that I've been putting off until I had more time.

Decided that today being motivation Monday...I needed to be motivated...that's what I did. I took myself out for two nice long walks today. First thing this morning and even in the rain and then this evening is the dusk and cooler weather. Two very different walks, but both so enjoyable.

My positives:
Bought myself a yoga mat, yoga classes start this Saturday.
Finished off some loose end things that were on my agenda. All accomplished now! YAY.
Made a nice roast for Garry for his supper, and veggies for Shy and I.
Savoring my green tea today.
Our granddaughter's mommy joined facebook today, Yay, so much easier to keep in touch and share pictures. Email from Shavon.
Got my mp3 recharged so now I can listen to music as I'm walking.
A lovely relaxing day, just being and spending time with myself.

Loved this quote of the day:

The real measure of your wealth is how much you'd be worth if you
lost all your money.

-- Bernard Meltzer (1914-) American Law Professor

Have a wonderful evening. To my wonderful American friends, don't forget to vote. If you don't vote, then don't complain!

Wanda - Love the picture! My kinda weather. Your supper sounded good... don't you & Shy eat roast though? I love it! Nothing better on a cold day then roast, potatoes & carrots either slow cooked in the oven or in the pressure cooker. Yum! Good you got the walk in. Thanks for emailing me & caring. Sorry I was MIA. Love ya, Marla

    I'm RICH! Woo hoo!
There is beauty and peace in the snow. And there's cold to make you bundle up warmly in soft and comfy clothes and calories to burn. Snow and I used to get along just fine. But my friend snow doesn't get to visit me. I'm too far away. Instead of "absence makes the heart grow fonder", it's more like "out of sight out of mind."
I will vote today and I will not complain regardless of the outcome. I trust that there is a more qualified candidate running the show from above.
Have a fun talking Tuesday.
Love, Nancy

November 02

Not sure if this will show up well enough, but this is my MARC record on my tj-shirt for Halloween. I'm a cataloged record now! lol

What a beautiful Serenity Sunday! A day just spent connecting with my family, some reading time thrown in and relaxation. A perfect Sunday activity day.

My positives:

A wonderful phone call from Nancy...thanks Nancy you helped to make my day perfect!
A lovely phone call to our Granddaughter's parents. Thrilled to say that Doug has now been cleared to go back to work on a trial basis and a reduced work load. He may never be able to go back to his old position due to the high stress involved and his heart now needing monitoring, but he can go back to work, such a plus and positive.
Quin spent the day with us. Love seeing him.
I got my "to do" list made and even found the time to accomplish a couple of the tasks! Woo Hoo, a head start on next week.
I have tomorrow off work, always a nice change of pace. I hope to accomplish the rest of the hallway!
A wonderfully, calm and peaceful day just relaxing and making conversation. (it should have been Talking Tuesday...with all the talking I did today! lol)

Enjoy your evening and make the choice to be healthy.

Re the cat: I have no idea why Kismet won't eat unless someone is in the kitchen with her. She has always been that way. We got her from an animal shelter when she was only a couple of months old. She also cries if she is left alone! If you've turned the lights off and gone to bed and she didn't happen to notice that's where you went...she'll start crying until you call her. Abandonment issues I guess!

What a great day you had... Lots of communicating...

Enjoy your Monday off...

Oh and you must tell us more about those strange cats of yours sometime... lol I love animal stories... And I wonder why your cat won't eat if you're not there... hmmm... lol
