I missed blogging last night, but for a very good reason.
Garry and I were sitting outside enjoying the last bit of sunshine for the day and just catching up on each others day. Our neighbor across the street from us arrived home with a big trailer attached to his truck, both truck and trailer were loaded down with "junk". He mentioned that the county was having an environmental recycle day on Saturday (today) and asked if we had anything that we wanted to get rid of. As a matter of fact, we did. Garry and I were planning on cleaning out the garage and making a start on the basement today. Our neighbor offered to take our stuff with him if wanted to load it in his trailer last night. We spent the evening getting started on loading into the trailer all the things we wanted out of the house and garage and needed to go to the environmental recycle. All the old paint cans that had been left here by the previous owners...there were lots! and we even got the old kitchen stove into that trailer. It has been sitting in the garage since we replaced it, waiting it's fate! We even managed to donate to the neighbor some stuff that we no longer wanted and he could use. Today we will finish the job. It's time to put all the lawn furniture away and do yard clean up in preparation for winter. It felt great to have a couple more monkeys off our backs.

My positives:
Getting the old stove and paint cans out of our world.
A neighbor that was extremely kind in his offer, as it meant we didn't have to rent a truck to haul it ourselves.
Garry and I made a start on the garage and basement, now we are in the mood to keep going with it.
The opportunity to surprise someone yesterday with a "free" cup of delicious steamed milk with vanilla flavoring. The look on her face was so worth the price.
Another day to be active and work towards my health goals.

Have a great and wonderful day today, keep your focus on the positives in your life.

I hope I can get this to post... I've been having problems all evening...

What a nice neighbor to offer the use of his trailor... Glad that you are still De-cluttering... I'm having that same feeling of sorting and throwing things out...

Good luck on cleaning that basement...

Enjoy your Sunday...

Hey, Wanda, can you send your neighbor down to RI? Wish we had those days here. I'm embarrassed to admit that I am finally going through clothes and found 12 denim skirts...no one needs that many...just forgot I had a few and then in my deep depression bought more - so glad THAT's over...Since John's here today and I just got home from work, I'll leave it to tomorrow...but I'm trying them on and keeping only 3 (I wear them a lot). The rest will go to Goodwill.

Hugs, Mauri!!

You are doing awesome on accomplishing those jobs needing do be done. It feels so good when we clear out clutter and reorganize. I'm taking lessons and am following your lead.......just moving a little slower.

Tonight I will be spending time watching the leaders debate in English. Hopefully they will start saying what they stand for in stead of trying to trash each other. It really makes me cross when they focus on why the other party shouldn't win instead of why they themselves would be the best choice. Last night the debate was in French and none of the parties were impressive.

Busy day again today, Gail was back to work today, so that eased some of the load from having to do 3 jobs. Yay, tomorrows Friday!

My positives:

Another gorgeous summery day, temperatures reached 27 c. Well above average for this time of year.
Gail was back at work, helped to ease the work load.
Doctor appointment complete as well as the lab tests.
A lovely email from DonnaH.
A phone message from NancyJ. Sorry I missed your call, normally I would have been home, but had a doctors appointment right after work today.
Reading all the positives that you are finding in your day despite some struggles. Woo Hoo team, you ROCK!
Only two more days until I talk to Kaeli on the phone....I can hardly wait.
God's blessings in my life.

Have a wonderful evening, check out the challenges!!!!!

Woo Hoo it's Friday! Fabulous Friday. By day's end you will have successfully completed another work week! I watched our debate last night. It is my civic duty to be an informed participant in the democratic process. Unfortunately, watching politics is much like watching professional wrestling. A lot of fake moves just for show. But, you take in all that you can an make your best informed decision. That's how it works for now anyway. I'm am glad that I have a choice. I don't know about Canada's election, but this one in US is not going to be pretty. The country is split up the middle and regardless of which candidate wins, half of the country is going to be in an uproar. And I have to live my Healthy Lifestyle regardless of who wins and what happens to the stock market. I can do it!

Politics are the same all over, aren't they? It's never about what they will do right, it's always about what the other side will do wrong. *sigh* I'm trying to listen to the Vice President debate right now. I pay attention, then they start to get condescending and my mind starts to wander. I think I've already decided how I'm going to vote. But I still want to give them a chance to say something that might catch my attention. No such luck yet! lol.

I am also kinda disgusted with our candidates. But I will listen tonight and see what they say... And then vote against the one I don't like the most... lol

Do you understand French? I knew there was a lot of French in the east but wasn't sure in your area.

Enjoy your evening my friend... I'm off to see the challenge...

Wanda - The VIce Presidential Candidates are debating tonight at 9 but I'll be in bed by then. I'm discouraged by politics anymore. They tell you what you want to hear then never keep their promises once they're in office. No fair. Oh well.... I'm glad your day went better and I know you can't wait on Kaeli to call. Love ya, Marla

Wanda, such a lovely day! Sad to hear it's the same in Canada as here...I actually had dinner with a former co-worker last eve and she & her partner are planning to move north if McCain wins...I think most governments are the same...So, tho I love Canada...I'll stay in the USA.

A new month, another new opportunity to be all I can be. Today was weigh-in day and once again my ticker has made a move. After being in a holding pattern for a couple of months, I am thrilled to say I have eliminated 1 pound. Now that may not sound like much to others, but to me, it's a reward for not wavering from the course I set myself. It was not the only success over the past month though, I eliminated 1.5 inches from my waist and .5 inches from my hips. Those measurements actually speak louder to me. Again a confirmation that I am making and have made some life time changes in how I choose to live my life. I feel successful and proud of my accomplishments as they show me that I am becoming healthier in body, mind and spirit.
I am thrilled with the responses to today's Writing Wednesday challenge. I am so proud, thrilled and excited with the responses from the team. What a confirmation that we are all on the right track to a healthy spirit and mind. We are all at a spot in our lives where we can truly say that we love who we are and who we are becoming. What greater testimony to the changes we are experiencing than to say "I love me" and mean it. We are all works in progress. So let's keep progressing.

My Positives.
- a beautiful warm sunny day.
- a busy day at work, got alot accomplished. Yesterday being month end left me with some carry over to today....but got it all done! YAY!
- healthy eating.
- reading the Writing Wednesday responses and seeing how each of us has grown towards health.
- email from Kaeli saying that she will call on Sunday...Yippee!
- my weight and inches elimination.
- being able to wish my oldest brother Happy Birthday.
- payday today...bills are paid now.
- God, who supplies my every need.

Have a blessed evening.

Wanted to say a special Thanks to you. Although I've not been able to come on line much lately, Your positive attitude has been consistentley in my mind. Life has thrown many curve balls my way as of late, but I have been able to find positive in almost everything. It becomes easier with each passing day That little voice in my head whispers, well sometimes it has to shout really loud "FIND THE POSITIVE"

THANK YOU for your inspiration! emoticon

I'm so proud of myself!

Monday, September 29, 2008

I'm so proud of myself today. My day off and instead of doing nothing, which is what I really wanted to do....I made a good start on my weekly challenge!

I set a goal for myself, created a "to do" list and aimed to get it accomplished by 2pm so that I could take advantage of some summer sunshine at the "seashore".

Woo Woo HOO! I did it.

My accomplishments today:
* booked appointments
* vacuumed/swept and dusted entire house.
* cleaned kitchen
* laundry all done...my son had left lots!
* made purchases that Kaeli requested and got the parcel mailed off to her in Greece.
* passport pictures done.
* bought archival discs for my digital pictures so that I can save them from the computer....just in case it ever crashes!
* bought some groceries all in the same day that I put gas in the car...good thing Wednesday is payday! lol
* checked the mail and dealt with it all.
* drove Shy to make arrangements for her to take her drivers (Oct. 23 is the big day....prayers requested), then I drove her to work, and in a few minutes I will go and get her!
* shepherd's pie almost ready to put in the oven.

Boy does it feel good to have those monkeys off my back. Tomorrow... I'll tackle the ironing.

My positives:
My procrastination chores are done!
Monkeys off my back, the load is much lighter now.
Hurray, Shy has finally made an appointment to take her drivers license.
Time to put my feet up and enjoy the summer sunshine.
Extra points at the grocery store, cause their computer read the points twice! Thank you Lord for the extra blessing! It's amazing what a difference there is in your day when you are determined to enjoy it.

Have a wonderful evening all,
