Good Morning everyone, I didn't blog last night as I was so tired.
Today is off to a great start. I heard from a cousin that I haven't talked to in many years. She found me on Facebook and sent me a note. I'm thrilled as I am now in contact with her siblings also. What a great way to start the day.
We are off to my eldest brothers tonight for dinner. My other brother and his wife are driving up from where they live and my Aunt and Uncle will be there also. Garry has to work late, so told them to go ahead eat if we aren't there at meal time, we'll bring dessert so not to worry. I'm bringing a lovely edible arrangement (it's a fruit arrangement...see healthy!)
Shy and her friend went to see "Body Works" last night. She said it was great, some things she had a bit of trouble with but worth seeing. Kaeli had seen it in Germany and in Vancouver BC, I on the other hand will not go, I know it would greatly bother me.
So My positives for today (already!)
Contact from a cousin that I had lost contact with. So thrilled.
Invitation to dinner.
Healthy choice for dessert contribution.
Invitation to a baby shower next weekend.
A day off to look forward to on Monday.
Anticipation of the up coming challenge!
Finally got our passport renewal applications completed, just have to go to the passport office and get them handed in!
A happy attitude and a grateful heart.
Have an awesome day everyone,

What a lovely Thoughtful Thursday for me...I was the recipient of so many lovely thoughtful gestures today. I received "goodies", notes, emails and a big hug! Wow, what did I do, I'm going to have to see if I can do it again, whatever "it" is!
I tried phoning my Granddaughter, but the line is busy, so will try again. I'm sure she is having a great birthday.
A busy day at work, but lots of laughter as usual. Tomorrow our resident
"guy" is off, so I will end up going in earlier to get things up and running, but then I'm having a day off on Monday! Yippee! I have so many overtime hours I need to use some of them up.
Not much happening in my world today, rather a mellow day despite all the laughter at work.
A wonderful job that I love, co-workers that make me laugh. We are planning a group halloween dress-up for our dept. I will try to take pictures to post for you.
A granddaughter who is so special.
Shy who told her Dad last night, that she thinks she might be ready to take her driver's! Now she just has to make the appointment...that could be awhile! lol
Having fun planning a surprise challenge for our team....get ready....it's coming!
God who surprises me each day with so many blessings.
That I work in the back offices and didn't have to deal with a sewage leak in the teenzone area of the library today. The retail store above, once again had a problem with their washroom! Needless to same we are reeeeaaalllly looking forward to moving to our new facilities.
That I never know what each day will bring, I'm learning to enjoy living in the moment!
Have a very wonderful evening, thanks for stopping by and seeing what I've been up to today!

Garry and Quin with one of Garry's catches. (They only do catch and release)
Boy, was it cold out this morning...I had to scrape frost off the windows before I could drive to work! Supposed to be even colder tomorrow, but then God is going to bless us with some warmer weather on the weekend and next week. It's supposed to go back up to the high teens, low 20's. We'll take it!
Busy day at work today. I also had a safety meeting that ran on overtime, meant I didn't get off work at my usual time, but that's okay, now I have more banked time!
Garry has taken Shy out to practice more driving. I'm hoping that she will make arrangements to do her driver's test by the end of this month. It's getting to the time of very cold weather and it will be too cold to walk the distance she will have to walk to get to work. Prayers for her would be appreciated.
This wonderful group who really get into the challenges that are posed to them. It's such an enjoyment to come home and find out what they have been up to.
A warm vehicle (that has heated seats) to drive to work in.
No more Muskrats paying us early morning visits!
Garry, who willingly takes Shy out to practice.
Kathy and Andy, who got their house.
God who lifts me up each day and reminds me that I am worthy.
A Creed to Live By
Don't undermine your worth by comparing yourself to others.
It is because we are different that each of us is special.
Don't set your goals by what other people deem important.
Only you know what is best for you.
Don't take for granted the things closest to your heart.
Cling to them as you would your life, for without them life is meaningless.
Don't let life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future. By living your life one day at a time, you live up all the days of your life.
Don't give up when you still have something left to give,
Nothing is really over . . . till the moment you stop trying.
Don't be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect.
It is this fragile thread that binds us together.
Don't be afraid to encounter risks.
It is by taking chances, that we learn to be brave.
Don't shut love out of your life by saying it's impossible to find.
The quickest way to receive love is to give love;
the fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly;
and the best way to keep love is to give it wings.
Don't dismiss your dreams.
To be without dreams is to be without hope;
to be without hope is to be without purpose.
Don't run through life so fast
that you forget not only where you've been,
but where you are going.
Life is not a race,
but a journey to be savored every step of the way.

So glad that yesterday was Serenity Sunday, cause Motivational Monday got off to a roaring start!
One of the funniest day's I have ever had! This morning while Geff and I were the only ones at work, (we are the two that are there for a couple of hours before anyone else even rolls out of bed!) we had an exciting morning.
I was out in the main library doing magazines, Geff comes out and says, "You might want to stay out here for awhile". I'm thinking there' been a chemical leak or something chemical smelling (which I'm highly allergic too). Me.. "why, what's happened". Geff..." Ummmhhh, we have a visitor in TS (our dept). Now I'm on high alert..."what kind of visitor?" Geff..." a muskrat". Me..."we have a what in TS????" At this point I begin to laugh, as I know Geff wouldn't be trying to pull my leg, if it was something serious. Geff..."a muskrat". Me..." okay, I'm not afraid of a little muskrat, I'll come and help."
Needless to say, as we make our way back to TS dept, we are closing off doors to ensure we have a smaller area to try and trap this little critter. Geff says he saw him in our dept, so we close the door there and begin searching for him. Geff has a tall blue recycle bucket that he is going to try and catch him in, I'm cautiously walking around checking under everything, knowing that the poor little critter is probably scared, and I don't want to scare him even more. Well, we can't find him, then both of us at the same time thought...oh no, he wouldn't crawl into the compact shelving would he??? So very carefully we begin moving the shelves (they run on steel runners on the floor and slide back and forth), hoping like crazy that if he darted in there, that we wouldn't squish him by moving the shelves. Nope we can't find him there. Me..."Geff, he wouldn't have gone out into the hall would he?" Geff " I don't think so, but maybe". Okay time to broaden our search. I carefully open the door to TS and check out the hall, moving slowly as I don't want to scare him if that's where he is. Then out of the corner of my eye, I see him darting behind a chair in the staff room. "Geff, he's in the staff room" Quickly I close the door to the staff room, Yeah, it's a smaller confinement area. Well, I'm sure anyone that would have been watching, would have been rolling on the floor with laughter as Geff and I made attempts to scoop this little critter up in the recycle container. We did succeed, but he was one unhappy and scared little guy. We quickly opened doors and Geff tipped the container and released him into the very wet outside. By this time the two of us are hysterically laughing and trying to figure out how on earth he got into the library in the first place.
Let me assure you, although we pride ourselves on having an open door policy for families, we couldn't quite figure out how we could sign up as patrons, family of muskrats!
Our library is never boring!
A great Monday morning, lots of laughter and fun.
A phone call from Kaeli at work, how nice to answer my phone and hear my daughter's voice.
Enthusiasm from this team for the challenges I think up.
God in my life.
A very blessed day.
Now, who can top this one for a Monday morning starter?????
