I used to work in a library. I loved when I got to help process new books. Heck, I loved doing just about anything with the books. I was only part time and needed a full time pay check, so it wasn't a very long lived job. Sounds like you had a good day! Report Inappropriate Comment |

So glad that yesterday was Serenity Sunday, cause Motivational Monday got off to a roaring start!
One of the funniest day's I have ever had! This morning while Geff and I were the only ones at work, (we are the two that are there for a couple of hours before anyone else even rolls out of bed!) we had an exciting morning.
I was out in the main library doing magazines, Geff comes out and says, "You might want to stay out here for awhile". I'm thinking there' been a chemical leak or something chemical smelling (which I'm highly allergic too). Me.. "why, what's happened". Geff..." Ummmhhh, we have a visitor in TS (our dept). Now I'm on high alert..."what kind of visitor?" Geff..." a muskrat". Me..."we have a what in TS????" At this point I begin to laugh, as I know Geff wouldn't be trying to pull my leg, if it was something serious. Geff..."a muskrat". Me..." okay, I'm not afraid of a little muskrat, I'll come and help."
Needless to say, as we make our way back to TS dept, we are closing off doors to ensure we have a smaller area to try and trap this little critter. Geff says he saw him in our dept, so we close the door there and begin searching for him. Geff has a tall blue recycle bucket that he is going to try and catch him in, I'm cautiously walking around checking under everything, knowing that the poor little critter is probably scared, and I don't want to scare him even more. Well, we can't find him, then both of us at the same time thought...oh no, he wouldn't crawl into the compact shelving would he??? So very carefully we begin moving the shelves (they run on steel runners on the floor and slide back and forth), hoping like crazy that if he darted in there, that we wouldn't squish him by moving the shelves. Nope we can't find him there. Me..."Geff, he wouldn't have gone out into the hall would he?" Geff " I don't think so, but maybe". Okay time to broaden our search. I carefully open the door to TS and check out the hall, moving slowly as I don't want to scare him if that's where he is. Then out of the corner of my eye, I see him darting behind a chair in the staff room. "Geff, he's in the staff room" Quickly I close the door to the staff room, Yeah, it's a smaller confinement area. Well, I'm sure anyone that would have been watching, would have been rolling on the floor with laughter as Geff and I made attempts to scoop this little critter up in the recycle container. We did succeed, but he was one unhappy and scared little guy. We quickly opened doors and Geff tipped the container and released him into the very wet outside. By this time the two of us are hysterically laughing and trying to figure out how on earth he got into the library in the first place.
Let me assure you, although we pride ourselves on having an open door policy for families, we couldn't quite figure out how we could sign up as patrons, family of muskrats!
Our library is never boring!
My positives:
A great Monday morning, lots of laughter and fun.
A phone call from Kaeli at work, how nice to answer my phone and hear my daughter's voice.
Enthusiasm from this team for the challenges I think up.
God in my life.
A very blessed day.
Now, who can top this one for a Monday morning starter?????
Hugs,
Wanda

Wanda & Geff, Muskrat Hunters.. I am just picturing the two of you.. So funny, but I'm sure that it was a little frightening as well.. Good job.. Saved the day.. Can you imagine the excitement & the screams if others were involved.. The Poor little thing would have just died from all of the ruckus.. lol I'm glad that you enjoyed your phone call with Kaeli.. Now that doesn't happen everyday & I commend the both of you for pulling it off & safely removing the little critter.. They say that they sometimes return.. Keep your watchful eyes opened Wanda & Geff... lol Love Ya Polly Report Inappropriate Comment |

Hee Hee... I dedicate this song to you my friend... Muskrat Love... by Captain & Tennille Muskrat, Muskrat, candle light Doing the town and doing it right in the evening It's pretty pleasing Muskrat Suzie, Muskrat Sam do the jitterbug out in Muskrat Land And they shimmy... Sam is so skinny And they whirl and they twirl and they tango Singing and jinging a jango Floating like the heavens above Looks like Muskrat Love. Nibbling on bacon, chewing on cheese Sam says to Suzie, Honey, would you please be my Mrs? Suzie says yes with her kisses Now he's tickling her fancy, rubbing her toes muzzle to muzzle now, anything goes as they wriggle, Sue starts to giggle And BTW... there is no way I would have helped get that critter out of there... I don't do any kind of RAT... lol Thanks for the giggles... ((hugs)) K athy Report Inappropriate Comment |

What fun you had and all those additional calories you burned trying to find a muskrat. My question is did he find something he could read? LOL Perhaps he needs to enroll in a special reading class. Glad you heard from Kaeli. Marie Report Inappropriate Comment |
