What a day!

Monday, September 22, 2008

So glad that yesterday was Serenity Sunday, cause Motivational Monday got off to a roaring start!

One of the funniest day's I have ever had! This morning while Geff and I were the only ones at work, (we are the two that are there for a couple of hours before anyone else even rolls out of bed!) we had an exciting morning.
I was out in the main library doing magazines, Geff comes out and says, "You might want to stay out here for awhile". I'm thinking there' been a chemical leak or something chemical smelling (which I'm highly allergic too). Me.. "why, what's happened". Geff..." Ummmhhh, we have a visitor in TS (our dept). Now I'm on high alert..."what kind of visitor?" Geff..." a muskrat". Me..."we have a what in TS????" At this point I begin to laugh, as I know Geff wouldn't be trying to pull my leg, if it was something serious. Geff..."a muskrat". Me..." okay, I'm not afraid of a little muskrat, I'll come and help."
Needless to say, as we make our way back to TS dept, we are closing off doors to ensure we have a smaller area to try and trap this little critter. Geff says he saw him in our dept, so we close the door there and begin searching for him. Geff has a tall blue recycle bucket that he is going to try and catch him in, I'm cautiously walking around checking under everything, knowing that the poor little critter is probably scared, and I don't want to scare him even more. Well, we can't find him, then both of us at the same time thought...oh no, he wouldn't crawl into the compact shelving would he??? So very carefully we begin moving the shelves (they run on steel runners on the floor and slide back and forth), hoping like crazy that if he darted in there, that we wouldn't squish him by moving the shelves. Nope we can't find him there. Me..."Geff, he wouldn't have gone out into the hall would he?" Geff " I don't think so, but maybe". Okay time to broaden our search. I carefully open the door to TS and check out the hall, moving slowly as I don't want to scare him if that's where he is. Then out of the corner of my eye, I see him darting behind a chair in the staff room. "Geff, he's in the staff room" Quickly I close the door to the staff room, Yeah, it's a smaller confinement area. Well, I'm sure anyone that would have been watching, would have been rolling on the floor with laughter as Geff and I made attempts to scoop this little critter up in the recycle container. We did succeed, but he was one unhappy and scared little guy. We quickly opened doors and Geff tipped the container and released him into the very wet outside. By this time the two of us are hysterically laughing and trying to figure out how on earth he got into the library in the first place.

Let me assure you, although we pride ourselves on having an open door policy for families, we couldn't quite figure out how we could sign up as patrons, family of muskrats!

Our library is never boring!

My positives:
A great Monday morning, lots of laughter and fun.
A phone call from Kaeli at work, how nice to answer my phone and hear my daughter's voice.
Enthusiasm from this team for the challenges I think up.
God in my life.
A very blessed day.

Now, who can top this one for a Monday morning starter?????

Wanda & Geff, Muskrat Hunters.. I am just picturing the two of you.. So funny, but I'm sure that it was a little frightening as well.. Good job.. Saved the day.. Can you imagine the excitement & the screams if others were involved.. The Poor little thing would have just died from all of the ruckus..
lol I'm glad that you enjoyed your phone call with Kaeli.. Now that doesn't happen everyday & I commend the both of you for pulling it off & safely removing the little critter.. They say that they sometimes return.. Keep your watchful eyes opened Wanda & Geff... lol Love Ya Polly

Hee Hee... I dedicate this song to you my friend...

Muskrat Love... by Captain & Tennille

Muskrat, Muskrat, candle light Doing the town
and doing it right in the evening
It's pretty pleasing Muskrat Suzie, Muskrat Sam do the jitterbug
out in Muskrat Land And they shimmy...
Sam is so skinny And they whirl and they twirl and they tango
Singing and jinging a jango
Floating like the heavens above
Looks like Muskrat Love.
Nibbling on bacon, chewing on cheese Sam says to Suzie,
Honey, would you please be my Mrs?
Suzie says yes with her kisses
Now he's tickling her fancy,
rubbing her toes muzzle to muzzle now,
anything goes as they wriggle,
Sue starts to giggle

And BTW... there is no way I would have helped get that critter out of there... I don't do any kind of RAT... lol

Thanks for the giggles...

Wanda, emoticon for getting the muskrat out safely! Our little mouse hasn't shown itself since Katie carried it around my apt. Hoping it means s/he made it safely out of the apt. It's probably in the attic!! My landlady gave me a trap, but I just couldn't do it.

Thanks for starting my Tuesday off with smiles! ~~ Hugs, Maurizia

Oh!! I'm glad he got back outside safely! Poor little guy probably was terrified with these two humans hunting him down! hehe. No, my morning definitely was not anywhere near as fun or exciting!

What fun you had and all those additional calories you burned trying to find a muskrat.

My question is did he find something he could read? LOL Perhaps he needs to enroll in a special reading class.

Glad you heard from Kaeli.

Serenity Sunday.

Sunday, September 21, 2008

Well, it very well may be the last time this year that I will be able to comfortably sit out on my back deck. Wow, the weather forecast for the next week....brrrrrrrrrr! I even had to resort to turning the furnace back on today!

A great day anyways.

Made some head way in cleaning up some clutter. Especially my kitchen table...it seems to be the catch-all for everything that comes in the door.
A serene Sunday.
A new challenge posted.
Reading the posts and blogs of my SP family.
Looking forward to curling up this evening in my jammies and a nice warm blanket and a cup of cocoa watching Extreme home make over.
Laundry all done for another week. Oops...still have ironing to do, but it's nothing major.

Remember: You get out of life what you put into it.

Wanda, what a heavenly day! I must admit this cool weather is how I'd like summer to be!! Hahaha...

Wanda - Send that cool weather my way. I'd love it. Can't wait. As you know, today is the first day of Autumn, officially starting at 11:44 am EST. I'm in my glory! Love it. I hear you about that clutter problem. I just sat around looking at mine yesterday while you did something about yours. Actually I did get the trash can & cleaned off a spot on the living room table! At least I could put my glass of water down without sitting it on something! *sigh* Love ya, Marla

Sounds like it's time to find a nice warm cave and start hibernating for the winter! I guess I shouldn't go on and on about how much I enjoyed floating in the pool today and getting plenty of sun (which will wrinkle my skin in a speedier fashion). Sounds like you accomplished a good day's work. I gave myself the day off. Tomorrow is another day! See ya. Here's to a great week.

A cup of warm cocoa sounds good. Think I'll have one.

Just a big thank you for starting this team and all the encouragement you give us.

A very positive day!

Saturday, September 20, 2008

There's my girl hard at work excavating! Woo Hoo, a buriel site that dates back to 4000 BC is what they are working on. They are huge pottery urns that the body was placed in for burial.

Had a great day, met up with my friend that I haven't seen since January and her SIL. We had chicken caesar salads for lunch and then spent the afternoon walking around a trade show event. Lots of fun and chatting. Both Donna and Marie were shocked to see how much I have eliminated. Very excited about it for me and wanted to know all about SP. Yeah SP!
Donna had seen me in January and at that time I was hovering around the 45-50 pound elimination, now there is even more. Marie I hadn't seen for over a year, so she was very shocked. But a good shocked from both of them. Made my day!

My Positives:

A luncheon date.
Seeing Donna and her SIL
Hearing the wonderful comments on my weight elimination, and trying hard to put into practice accepting compliments graciously. It's hard to accept compliments!
A afternoon spent walking around a trade show, seeing all the interesting things.
Garry's gone for the weekend golfing, so I don't have to cook this weekend.
Just plain and simple a wonder day.

He who has health has hope; and he who has hope has everything. ~Arabic Proverb

Have an awesome evening,

While Kaeli is digging up some wonders, you dug up a treasure of your own. Love the quote! I'm very hopeful today. I got some good healthy glow going on. I wonder what I weigh right now? And that was a little joke that I have with myself and thought I might share with you even though it is no longer Silly Saturday. Good exercise taking a compliment yesterday. Sounds like it was a great day. Have a serenity filled Sunday.

What an awesome thing to be doing... I'm glad that your DD is doing something that is so exciting... But tell her to watch out for those mummy's... I've seen them in the movies and they are not happy if you wake them... hee hee

What fun seeing your friend and SIL and getting compliments... I'm the same and it's hard to take them... but we have to learn this... so I try to make a conscious effort to just say thank you ... It does get easier the more you do it...

Enjoy the weekend of NO COOKING... I'm jealous! lol

Wanda - Looks like your daughter is having fun at her dig. I couldn't do it because my knees couldn't take it... but oh, back when....

Glad you got compliments. I know what you mean about them being hard to accept though. We all need to work on it and just graciously say a simple "thank you".
Love ya, Silly Marla

Looks like a fun day at work. I always loved days when we did something out of the ordinary or pulled surprises.

I agree you are getting good at doing the pictures. One of these days I have to explore that option and learn how to scan pictures.

Hope you enjoy your evening shopping with Shy.

It's Friday!

Friday, September 19, 2008

Wow, where did this week go! I got up this morning and realized that it was Friday already!

Last night we had a great time decorating Sharon's office area, giggling and laughing. The director of the library walked into our department as we were decorating as she had heard noise and knew that in the evenings there isn't anyone usually there. The look on her face was priceless, she burst out laughing and said that she was definitely going to be coming into work early just to be able to see Sharon's face when she walks in and sees what we have done. So today should be an interesting day.

My positives:
A fun day to look forward to.
A lunch date tomorrow with someone that I haven't seen since January!
It's Fabulous Friday!
The support and encouragement that we offer each other.
An email from Kaeli.
It's still supposed to be warm and sunny until Sunday, then the weather takes a major nose dive....the "s" word has even been mentioned!

Have a wonderfully Blessed day today, keep smiling and cheer on yourself and others.
