Kaeli, looking out to sea. What a magnificent view!
Today was my monthly massage day. Once a month I get to go for a theraputic massage. Oh, how I love being able to do it. Thankfully, I can have one once a month as it is covered under Garry's medical plan through work! I haven't been since June as my therapist was away on holidays and then we went to the reunion and she was booked, so today was so relaxing!
Got home to a message from our Nancy to say that they had come through hurricane Ike with no major damage. Thank you Lord. After seeing all the pictures of the damage that was done, it was a relief to know that she and her family at least were okay.
Had a nice chat with my girl. I called her today in Greece, what an interesting experience. Their telephone numbers are so long! She is doing well, missing the sound of her families voices, but enjoying herself. They start at the dig next week, which she is really excited about. She really likes the little village they are in, she says the locals are so friendly and have been told that the students are learning Greek. Even though most speak some English, they are encouraging the students to speak Greek. By the time Kaeli gets back home, she'll have another language to add to her list of languages. What a great way to learn it, by being immersed in it.
Heard from Nancy and they are okay. Thank you Lord.
Talked to Kaeli today, was so nice to hear her voice.
Finally figured out how to get my pictures on to SP site. I had a bit of hard time trying to get them to upload, it kept shutting down, but perservence paid off....it worked!
My wonderful massage.
Laundry all done.
Meet Shy's new friend, he seems very gentlemanly and is very tall. Shy comes to his elbow!
Sun was shining today and we reached a balmy 14 c (57 F).
The leaves on the trees are rapidly turning from green to red/rust to yellow, but so far most are still clinging to the tree branches. I will miss my ocean sounds when they eventually drop to the ground.
My wonderful, fabulous and inspirational group of friends on the Positive Bloggers team who have all joined in so willingly and contribute.

What a interesting day it has been. Yesterday I phoned my SIL and invited her to meet me for lunch. That in itself was a big step, cause I usually try to limit my time with her due to always having to listen to all her illnesses. We had a great afternoon, I spent most of the time talking, she didn't have much of a chance. lol. Actually, I had prayed before meeting with her that I would be able to share with her things that have been happening in my life with God's directing and how cultivating a positive attitude has done wonders. I even shared with her about the Positive Bloggers. That really sparked (sorry for the pun) her interest. We talked all the way through lunch and then for 2 hours after lunch. We shared stories and everytime she would vear off about being sick, I was able to lead her back to more positive talk. I must admit, I actually enjoyed the time spent with her today! I'm trusting that some seeds have been planted today.
I did miss a call from Kaeli today though. Sigggghhhhh! She called around noon and I had already left to my lunch date. Just hearing her voice was great though. Hope to touch base with her possibly tomorrow. She is really enjoying being in Greece and they have already begun their lessons in conversational Greek. She says the residents of the small fishing village where they are are really great. They know all about the students and are encouraging them to speak Greek. The picture on my blog tonight is looking off of her balcony where she is staying. Greece is on my Life to do list too, and now more than ever! lol
My positives today:
All my fabulous friends.
Lunch date with my SIL
Planting positive seeds.
Although I missed Kaeli's call, she still left a message!
Figured out how to download pictures from my camera to the computer...I'm putting some on my page for you to look at.
Still riding high from a lovely phone call from Nancy last night. I'm just so blessed!

Today has been a day of memories in many ways. Although my Mom has gone home to her maker, I still like to remember her on this her special day. She would have been 87 years young today. I spent some time today remembering her and filtering through memories. I'm pleased to say that many of the hurts no longer seem to really matter, I was able to focus on more of the good times. The adage...time heals all things...is definitely true. Yes, 9/11 had its place in my memories too, it will always be irrevocably tied in my memories because of being my Mom's birthday. Today my thoughts were ones of thanksgiving.
A lovely long walk was in order for this morning, then some time spent in meditation by my "seashore". We really do live in a miraculous world. Dropped Shy off at her job and then headed into the city to spend some time looking for a couple of tops that fit. (most of mine are now too big!). I found a couple of great bargins. Yippee! I love end of the season times, the sales are so good!
A beautiful morning for walking and meditating.
Time at my special "seashore" enjoying all the wonders in my backyard.
Being obedient to God's voice urging me to go and see someone.
I have a lunch date tomorrow with my SIL. I'm thinking positive about it!
Talking to a government person who was actually very helpful in regards to Kaeli's student loan that hasn't come through to her bank yet. It should be deposited by the end of the month.
Hearing from Shirl today and hearing that her knee is healing well.
Marla's wonderfully positive attitude.
Kathy is in training on her bike to race with Marla! lol.
Polly for her words of wisdom.
Nancy who always finds a positive spin on stressful situations.
Marie for sharing her gentle and peaceful ways.
Cee for being an amazing woman.

Woo Hoo to Nancy for being Today's Featured Motivator! What a surprise to see your happy face as I went to go to sparkpages.
Well today has been a wonderful day once again. The sun finally came out and warmed things up a tad. It's been rather chilly around here of late. Cold enough now that most nights the furnance has had to be turned on! Yikes!
I wandered off to the gardening store after dropping Shy at work and picked up a big bag of potting compound. Brought it home, and got things set up out on the deck. Hauled out all those little seeds I planted in early summer. Most of those little plants are now doing very well and definitely in need of bigger containers and new dirt. I am going to have to keep them indoors for over the winter, but an anticipating having some edible fruits off of at least the Apricot Tomato plants. Have no idea what they will look or taste like, but that's part of the fun of having planted something I had never heard of before! I now have 18 newly potted Apricot Tomato plants and very little room to have them in my home. lol. It's a jungle now in here. I'm going to take one of the pots to work with me next week and keep in at my desk and some of them, I'm going to fob off on unsuspecting co-workers!
I transplanted 3 of my trees that I started from seed also. I'm looking forward to watching them grow over the winter and then being able to transplant them out into the yard next spring. The information with them, says they will be able to with stand -40 C, so they should survive next winter out of doors.
After getting things cleaned up, I thought it was about time to spend some time at my "seashore" enjoying the quite and solitude of the afternoon. Hauled out my book, my chair cushion and my cup of coffee and settled down to enjoy some reading. I quickly got distracted by a little squirrel that I spent the next half hour watching as he busily scurried back and forth along our back fence, the neighbors back fence and dropping down into the yard of the neighbor 2 doors down only to resurface moments later with a peanut in his mouth which he was carrying back to his burrow somewhere in the trees by the neighbor's back fence on the opposite side of me. What an amazingly industrious little creature he was. Never hesitating, just getting the job done. He had his goal and he was doing all that he could to accomplish it. Think that I will head out to the store tomorrow to buy some goodies specially for squirrels to help him along on his food gathering mission.
Soon it was time to head out the door to pick up Shy from work and then home again to pick up the knitting that I am making head way on. I figure that at the rate I'm knitting it, Shy should have her afghan by the end of October. I have almost 2 feet of it done now. Spent some time this afternoon reading some great articles on the internet and some thought provoking emails that I received. I love getting those emails that not only make you smile but make you stop and appreciate the person that sent them to you.
Warm sunshine, supposed to have some tomorrow also.
Getting all my little plants transplanted.
Time at my own backyard "seashore".
Watching a very industrious little squirrel and taking the time to appreciate how he was accomplishing his goal.
Friends and all their positive words.
Time for meditation.
God's spirit surrounding me.
You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you.

Yesterday I finally submitted to something that God has been laying on my heart for some time. I created a team on sparkpeople. The Positive Bloggers. Yep, just as the name implies, it's about blogging your positives and creating a healthy attitude of gratitude. There will be challenges, but I'm thinking more in the sense of creating a healthy attitude. The healthy attitude will flow over into all areas of our lives. When we learn to love who we are, just as we are, then God can begin to work miracles in our lives.
I give the glory to God for the creation of this team and trust that He will continue to guide each of us to the reality of a healthy mind, body and soul. My apologies for not having created the team sooner, my humanness was baulking at the preceived responsibility...when in fact I am only God's instrument. When God has a plan, He will see that it comes about. Do you know just how insistant He can be???? LOL. He also has a great sense of humor!
Thank you for the positive response that I already see on the team. Once I got over my fears of starting a team and coming to terms with "what's the worse that can happen"....no one joins, God took control. He just wanted me to be willing to take that first step and He has taken care of the rest.
It's the same in our daily lives...we just have to be willing to take that first step, placing one foot in front of the other to get where we want to be....HEALTHY! Don't look at becoming healthy as a chore, but rather an adventure. For some it may be a slow winding path, for others a short distance, yet others bumps and boulders in the road. If each of us keeps our focus on enjoying the path no matter what, we will find that the journey will be filled with excitement and wonderful experiences. I'm ready to some fun, are you?
A wonderful and light feeling, because I finally did what I have supposed to do.
All of the Positive responses and open hearts.
Walking to work with Shy today, and then continuing on my walking journey as she had to go to work and I didn't! LOL
All my ironing is done.
A greatful heart.
Yippee our Nancy Jane is back!
Knowing that I am God's instrument, not His foreman!
Knowing that I don't have to have all the answers and plans worked out, I only have to be willing.
Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can.
Have an awesome day,
