A busy day yesterday with lots happening.
Garry arrived home safe and sound from his week long fishing trip. I'll try and figure out how to transfer pictures from the camera to the computer later! He had a fantastic time, called it "his trip of a life time". Did manage to come home with a cold though.
Got to work yesterday and saw I had a message on my phone. I had just missed a call from Kaeli in Greece. How sad! But on the other hand, it was great to hear from her and I now have a number that I can call her at!

Shy kicked my butt at playing the Wii.....I think she's practicing at night after I've gone to bed. LOL.

My positives:
Garry's home.
Kaeli called.
Shy and I are enjoying the Wii.
I'm now officially on a week's holidays.
Almost finished the laundry, might even get the ironing done today too!
My plants that I started from seed are doing very well, I'll be doing some transplanting in the next couple of days.
A new member has joined our extended family. My nephew and his wife had their baby yesterday.
I'm on track and ready to shake things up abit as I decide what classes I'm joining for exercise this fall and winter.

Have an awesome day everyone....keep a smile on your face, make others wonder what you are up too!

Hugs,
Wanda

Your holiday week is here. Woo Hoo. I don't know about you but when I worked I loved just being home. I didn't need to go anywhere.

I bet Shy is practicing when your asleep too. LOL That used to happen to me with the kids when we would play pool or those nintendo games when they first came out. It has nothing to do with being quicker or younger.

I know you must be glad Garry is home. You do miss them.

Another new addition to the family. You have lots of positives emoticon

Yes I feel that same kindred spirit with you.

Hugs my friend

weeeeee Wii!

Thursday, September 04, 2008

Okay, having a Wii is just plain fun! Never thought I would say that about a silly game console, but Shy and I have been having a blast.

We've been playing tennis (never played the game for real) and we have been laughing so much, we've had to take 'potty' breaks! My poor arm is sore now, but what a great work out. Least ways I get a good one as I'm really swinging and moving around. I get so involved in the match that Shy starts laughing at me and then misses her shots! I'll win how ever I can! LOL.

Definitely going to have to look at getting the Wii fit as a family Christmas gift. If it's have as much fun as the tennis, we'll all get out exercise!

A great day at work, lots of laughs, busy and I'm counting down until the end of tomorrow....then a week's holidays. Yippee! Looking forward to having time to get in some walking during the mornings and maybe some reading and relaxing in the afternoons...might even sneak in a nap or two.

My positives.

Finding out how much fun and how entertaining owning a Wii really is!
Shy, who enjoys seeing her Mom in action!
Got my strength training all in before work this morning.
Found Shavon's birthday present today, and now all I have to do is wrap it and get it in the mail. She got a Wii for her birthday, so I was able to pick up a game for it.
Garry will be home tomorrow night...yippee! Hopefully he'll have some great pictures that I will be able to share.
A pure and simple very blessed day.

Hugs,
Wanda

I'm with Kathy. I'm going to have to check out those Wii's. Several of you have them and it seems to be all the rage. I always used to like playing the kids ninendo games.

Great positives.

OMG!!! you have to get the Wii FIt....It is awesome......my family got it for me for my 50th birthday and I have not been able to stay off it! You will certainly feel all the muscles you never thought you had by doing some of the yoga poses and the strength training! You will love the way you look when you are "hoola-hooping"...stay close to the potty!!!! I have been wii-ing for 12 days and can feel my body toning up, though i do have a few more pounds to go to get to my goal. Who ever thought that exercising could be soooo much fun!! I love the fact that you can make yourself into any character you would like!! I don't like the fact that when you gain a couple pounds your character on the screen "gains" too!! That's motivation right there to keep going!! Thanks for motivating me even more!! emoticon

Yippee! it's payday today! Bills are paid and Shy and I have enough between us to get a Wii. We've been saving for one, now when she gets off work, we are going shopping! I'm hoping that sometime between now and Christmas we might be able to snag one of the Wii fit programs. They only bring out a few at a time, and they are usually sold within the fiirst 10 minutes!
I just realised that next month is a 3 payday month....love those months, you always feel so much wealthier. lol.

Very cool temperatures outside today, it's overcast and threatening rain. I'll take the rain though, I'm just not ready for the snow!

My positives :

It's payday!
Shy and I have enough saved up to get a Wii.
My sister in law called last night and they want to do a family get together with my Aunt and Uncle in a couple of weeks.
Just Shy and I for supper tonight, so we are having our favorite....grilled cheese sandwiches!
We have a full staff back at work...until I go on holidays for a week, next week!
Just plain and simple a wonderful day.

Hugs,
Wanda

Today is my Aunt and Uncle's 58th anniversary. Aunt Muriel is the last surviving sibling of my Mom's. I am so blessed that she lives close by. I phoned to talk to her today and pass along greetings, but she was out for "tea". Instead, I had a great opportunity to speak with her daughter, whom I haven't spoken to in for ever! It was great to touch base again with Kelly.
A busy day at work, then home to read all the blogs that keep me motivated and on track. I am really enjoying the virtual tours that some of your are blogging about, I get to "see" a whole new part of the world through your blogs. Thank you. It's a great and inexpensive way to travel. lol.
Had an email from Kaeli this morning...she arrived in Athens safe and sound. They have 4 days of intense touring, then they all fly to Keflonia and make their way to the small fishing village of Poros, where they will spend the next 4 months, digging and having fun!.

I have almost a foot of Shy's afghan done now! Only 5 more feet to go! lol.

My positives:
An email from Kaeli.
Shy's afghan is coming along nicely.
Wonderful virtual tours that I've been taking as I read the blogs.
Cooler weather, just right for walking in.
Two emails from friends today that I haven't heard from in awhile.
Finally found suppliers for a couple of books I've been trying to locate for the library. Yippee...they are ordered now and off my to do list!
A lovely compliment from a co-worker that not only surprised me, but made me feel good inside. You just never know what others are observing about you!
Marla, who is walking up a storm! You rock Marla.
Positive bloggers.

Have a wonderful evening, Hugs the ones your with and give them a word of encouragement.

Hugs,
Wanda

Happy Anniversary to your aunt and uncle! They were married the year I was born! :)

Glad you heard from Kaeli and what a wonderful experience for her! I always say the best part of email is keeping in touch with my family in Italy - lots cheaper than phoning and so we tend to communicate more often!

Isn't it great when you can locate someone who has access to the books you want?!!

September....already!

Monday, September 01, 2008

I enjoyed the past couple of days of just spending time with my girls. Kaeli's departure yesterday left Shy and I feeling a little at loose ends, so we spent the remainder of the day together just doing whatever we happened to come up with.
Kaeli should be arriving in the next hour in Frankfurt, Germany and then changing planes and heading to Athens, Greece. She'll arrive there early afternoon, where I'm sure she will heading straight to the hotel and some sleep before having to meet up with everyone else at dinner tonight. Her adventure has begun. Shy and I have now begun the countdown until she arrives back home at Christmas!

Holiday Monday here today. I will spend the day catching up on laundry and getting ready for another work week. Temperatures have dropped enough that I've had to turn the furnace back on at night. Have I mentioned that I really don't like winter! lol.

My positives are a combination of the past couple of days and today!

Kaeli's passport/visa arrived in time.
Spending time with my girls.
The support and prayers of everyone that has been reading my blogs.
A nice long weekend.
A short work week coming up, and looking forward to having a week's holiday next week. Yippee!
A lovely long conversation with our granddaughter on Saturday. She phoned to wish Kaeli a good trip and to fill us in our how her summer has gone. She's such a delight.
A phone call from my aunt.
God in my life.
All my SP friends.

Have a spectacular day today...it's a holiday Monday, but it's still Motivational Monday!

Hugs,
Wanda
