I enjoyed the past couple of days of just spending time with my girls. Kaeli's departure yesterday left Shy and I feeling a little at loose ends, so we spent the remainder of the day together just doing whatever we happened to come up with.
Kaeli should be arriving in the next hour in Frankfurt, Germany and then changing planes and heading to Athens, Greece. She'll arrive there early afternoon, where I'm sure she will heading straight to the hotel and some sleep before having to meet up with everyone else at dinner tonight. Her adventure has begun. Shy and I have now begun the countdown until she arrives back home at Christmas!

Holiday Monday here today. I will spend the day catching up on laundry and getting ready for another work week. Temperatures have dropped enough that I've had to turn the furnace back on at night. Have I mentioned that I really don't like winter! lol.

My positives are a combination of the past couple of days and today!

Kaeli's passport/visa arrived in time.
Spending time with my girls.
The support and prayers of everyone that has been reading my blogs.
A nice long weekend.
A short work week coming up, and looking forward to having a week's holiday next week. Yippee!
A lovely long conversation with our granddaughter on Saturday. She phoned to wish Kaeli a good trip and to fill us in our how her summer has gone. She's such a delight.
A phone call from my aunt.
God in my life.
All my SP friends.

Have a spectacular day today...it's a holiday Monday, but it's still Motivational Monday!

Wanda - I'm glad Kaeli made it safely to her destination. I'm sure you are looking forward to Christmas now. It'll be that much more meaningful having your family together again.
How lucky for you having cold temperatures at night now. It was nice & cool here this morning for my walk.

Love ya, Marla
(Have I mentioned I LOVE winter?) LOL

It's always good to have that time with family. It being a holiday here we've done a little celebrating ourselves. I know you like having the day off and I hope things are not to far behind when you get back to work.

Motivational Monday. Yikes hadn't even thought of that just celebrating today.

Thank You !

Friday, August 29, 2008

Thank you to everyone who added their prayers to ours for Kaeli's passport to arrive quickly.
It was couriered to her and she received it today with her visa. She can now board the flight on Sunday for Greece and her long anticipated final semester of University.
She also received all her loan papers in today's mail. Nothing like the Government leaving everything to the last minute! God is good and He saw everything delivered in time.

Just a quick blog tonight as I want to spend as much time with Kaeli before she goes. I'll check in tomorrow with you all.

Have a great evening,

A ray of sunshine in my life!

Thursday, August 28, 2008

This lovely young lady is a ray of sunshine in my life. Our wonderful Granddaughter! How fast she is growing up.

It's been a long day today. I've been up since 4 am and I'm heading off to bed shortly. One more day of work this week and then a lovely long weekend. We are closed on Monday, YAY! holiday Monday.

Positives in my day.

Kaeli and I were finally able to get her legal documents all straightened out today. I now have Power of Attorney should it be required while she is overseas.
Garry phoned to say he arrived safely in Fort McMurray. He will catch a flight to the fishing lodge tomorrow morning.
A beautiful picture of our granddaughter to share.
Emails for friends. Thank you so much for thinking of me.
God's love.
Laughter at work. I am so blessed to work with a wonderful group of people. We have such a good time as we randomly burst into song in our department. Someone usually tries to start one of the songs that just sticks in everyone's head forever!

Have an awesome evening, I'm off to read the blogs from the fellow positive bloggers and then an early night.

P.S. Please join me in prayer that Kaeli's passport will arrive back in time for her Sunday flight. She had to send her passport to SFU so they could take it to the Greek Consulate in Vancouver to arrange for a visa. The Greek consulate was at first going to waiver the visa requirements for the students, but a couple of weeks ago decided they couldn't, now the rush is on to get things accomplished. Her passport and visa are suppposed to be couriered back to her, so far we are just having to trust that God has it all in control and it will arrive in time.
Thanks for your added prayers.

Wanda, your granddaughter is beautiful...but why wouldn't she be? Look how beautiful her grandma is!!! And, like you, I'm sure she's as beautiful inside as outside! My fingers and toes are crossed (and prayers sent) that Kaeli's passport & visa arrive quickly!

BTW, our favorite song to sing is "On the Good Ship Lollipop!" hahahaha...

Hugs, Mauri

Your granddaughter has a beautiful smile. They do grow up so fast.

I'll pray that Kaeli's passport gets to her in time. So glad you got all her legal papers straightened out for your power of attorney. Good thinking on your part. We used to have people want to do things with their relatives accounts and they had no legal papers so we could help them.

It is so good to work with a great bunch of people and share good times. How could they not have a good time since they have you. Sing Loud I can't hear you and I wanted to join in. LOL

Wanda, Grandaughters are so precious in our lives.. They say that when we have grandchildren, then we know what being a Mother was all about.. Meaning that we were so very busy when our kids were growing up to be able to appreciate them as much as we can our Grandchildren.. How true..
I cherrish every moment spent with my children & grandchildren.. They are such a Remarkable part of our lives.. Now I know that you have your pasport, but how about your Visa.. Wouldn't it be nice if you & Garry could take the opportunity to go & visit Kaeli in Greece.. I know that would be a dream come true for you.. My prayers are positively there for Kaeli's Visa to arrive at any point now, the sooner the better.. Love & Hugs for a Friendship that we will hold on to forever & ever.. Glad that you have such a great time at work with all of your colleagues.. I know that you love to sing & dance.. I am picturing it as I type.. Go Wanda, The Way You Look Tonight..
Love Ya Always Polly Your Granddaughter is A Ray of Sunshine..So Beautiful, like her Grandmother...Hugs

A quick note.

Wednesday, August 27, 2008

Just a quick blog tonight so that you know I didn't forget about you!

We are going out for supper, the whole family. Garry leaves tomorrow to head up north for a week's fishing with Q as his fishing guide. Kaeli leaves on Sunday for Greece. Me....I'm stuck at home! (did I sound whiny???)

Temperatures are very cool now in the mornings. This morning it was only 6 above (C). Didn't seem to get much warmer through the day either.
I'm not ready for winter...whining again! lol.

Hope everyone's day has been awesome.

My positives:

My whole day was awesome!
I get to go out for supper.
My SP friends and other friends who send me hilarious emails.
Month end at work so I'm busy.
Budgets are being spent, so hope that it won't be crazy busy in November and December.
Life in general...it's just darn great!

Have a wonderful evening,

Tuesday, August 26, 2008

I woke up this morning to the sound of rain still coming down. Much needed rain, but it was so dark out. It did clear up late this afternoon so yay...sunshine!

an email from NancyJane.
I've now completed 5 inches on the afghan I'm making!

YIKES, Wanda! Christmas! Can't believe some of the stores around here already are selling Christmas stuff...yikes again. I suggested at work that rather than buy gifts for each other, let's just go out to dinner & celebrate Yuletide. Everyone loved the idea!! So excited about that...4 less gifts to buy! I really don't enjoy shopping! Glad the sunshine came out...Must have been Kathy's blog!!! :)

You're welcome for the goodie! ~~ Hugs, Maurizia

Have you made your wish list yet? Not much time left. LOl It really isn't that long if the rest of the year moves as quickly. I know your counting until you have your little nest full again. It's nice having them together even if only for holidays.

Another holiday and another day off. I know you'll make the most of it.
