Interesting day at work today. Our department has wonderful large windows that look out over the parking lot. They provide us with lots of amusement as they are mirrored windows on the outside. It is so funny watching people as they primp and preen in the windows, not thinking that we can see everything they are doing. Somethings, we would rather not see!
Today was one of those days, but it involved a huge crane that parked right up close to the windows and proceeded to lift giganitc air conditioner units to the top of the roof. Much of the parking lot in our area was closed off to traffic and parking, but those of us who arrive very early (me) had parked close. So watching the crane lifting things that hovered above my vehicle was rather intense! When I arrived at work at 6am, the area was not blocked off and we had had no warning that it would be, about 10 minutes after I arrived I happened to glance out the window and see barricades being set up and the caution tape being strung around. A little disconcerning when it's still dark outside and you are wondering what has happened! Seeing as their were no police cars, I knew it couldn't be anything too bad. lol
By the time others started arriving to work around 8 am, they were having to park further away and cross through the barricades to get inside. About 9:30 we were finally told why it was all barricaded off, but no requests to move vehicles which was good. Unfortunately it did mean that our delivery entrance was inaccessible all day as well as our Bookmobile parking access.
Life is never boring at our library! lol.
Watching that crane and all those units being lifted up to the top of the building was rather awe inspiring when you realized just how heavy they were and how tall that crane was.
My positives today:
My vehicle was not crushed under a heavy unit! lol
My performance review was great...an increase in pay is coming! Yippee!
A husband who cares, he phoned to make sure I was okay after he dropped Shy at work and saw all the tape and barricades! (awwww, he likes me!)
Summer is supposed t0 return tomorrow!
Books to read!
Bringing up the complete computer system this morning went very well....everything behaved and cooperated! (Major blessing)
Sharing laughter with co-workers.
Wonderful emails from my sp friends.
Marla's awesome walking and being able to get rid of the walker!
Kathy and Andy only feeling the rain effects from Fay.
Just being alive to enjoy this day.
Have a Fabulous Friday tomorrow, looking forward to hearing all about your fabulousness.

A much cooler day today...okay...dark skies and rain! It's been so hot that the rain feels down right great! No thunder boomers, so that is good also.
Spent time at work this morning working on my performance review, I have a review tomorrow. We have them once a year, they are actually rather helpful, but so long to fill out. They do give you very good feed back on all aspects of your work, all very helpful. I struggled some with setting 3 goals to be accomplished over the next year, but finally came up with some, once I understood that they didn't all have to be work related, they could also be personal.
Shy has been starting work early this week, so decided to take my lunch break when she got off work so that I could give her a ride home (raining). Was nice to get completely away from work and have a really quick lunch break at home. We live close enough that I was able to do this during the time alloted.
Garry is going fishing up north with Quin, so he is getting rather excited about that....Marla....I'll ask him to catch a fish for Kevin and take a picture! LOL.
Not much for news today but here's my positives:
A nice cool day, just perfect for doing some walking indoors (lol)
Wonderful friends on SP who think of me.
Mauri...thank you so much for the encouragement you gave me today.
A great day at work. Shared laughter.
Talked to one of my brothers today. It's been awhile since we last conversed.
A husband who cares and loves me.
God's direction in my life and the time He allows me to come to decisions.
Kathy and Andy being safe from Fay (the hurricane for those of you who may not know!)
Marla up and walking.
There are so many daily blessings, some so small but blessings none the less.
Have a great evening, hug someone and tell them you love them for being who they are.

It's Wednesday already!
Yesterday was a very busy day at work, by the time I got home and got some things caught up at home, I was so tired. Headed for bed early last night.
Today promises to be another busy day, which is okay as the day seems to go by faster and I enjoy being busy.
It's supposed to cool off for the next couple of days...rain is predicted (probably more thunderstorms!).
The rain at night has been rather nice, cooling things off so a person can at least get some sleep. The lightening strikes on the other hand not so much fun. On Sunday night someones house was hit, they managed to crawl out a window, but the house was lost to fire, then on Monday night another house in Leduc was hit and the house was lost to fire. Very strange hearing this happen and especially two in a row.
That God protects and keeps us safe.
Rain at night to cool things off.
Busy days at work, mean that the budgets are being spent!
Spending time with Kaeli before she leaves for Greece.
Staying on track with nutrition and exercise.
Have a spectacular day, it's Walking Wednesday so lets keep moving.

We had a wonderful time. Headed out Thursday as soon as I was finished work. Took a new route to the southern part of the province. Ended up at supper time in Drumheller (dinosaur land). Stopped for a salad and lots of cold water....temperature was 35 C. When you stepped out of the vehicle, it was like walking into a wall of heat! We were going to go and see the museum, but it was already closed for the day and we wanted to make it as far as Brooks to spend the night. What interesting country around Drumheller. Very arid and desert like. Once you cross the river though, it becomes more hills and greener.
Arrived in Brooks about 9:30 pm, a long day for me and I was more than ready for sleep.
Headed out after breakfast next morning and drove to Medicine Hat, where we stopped at the GMC dealership so Garry could pick up some keys and make arrangements to have the vehicle he had to bring back with him to be ready for us to pick up on Sunday while they were closed. Had a drive around Medicine Hat to see what it was like. Very pretty there. Had an early lunch and then headed for the border and Cypress Hills Resort on the Saskatchewan side.
Got to CHR around 2 in the afternoon, what beautiful country it is there. Cypress Hills is the highest point in the province of Saskatchewan. We couldn't check into our room until 4pm, but that was okay as others coming for the reunion were all starting to trickle in and we had a great time looking at everyone's name tag to find out who we all were! Time has been good to most of us, others I would never have recognized if they hadn't been wearing a tag.
Friday evening was a free evening for everyone to continue arriving, check in and general get the lay of the land.
Saturday morning Garry was in a golf tournament and I spent the morning walking the trails and around the lake as well as visiting. I found a back deck that no else seemed to have found( maybe because you couldn't smoke out there!) and managed to spend some down time just mediating and listening to the breeze in the trees. (God even provided my ocean sounds in the midst of the woods!) We attending the huge BBQ later that evening and it was amazing to see how quickly almost 400 people were fed! They had a great supply of salads and veggies and we had brough our own water bottles.
Later Saturday evening was spent with yet more visiting, story telling and looking at pictures.
Sunday saw us saying goodbye to everyone and promising that we would be attending the next one in 3 years and bringing more family members with us. Drove to Medicine Hat to pick up the vehicle Garry would drive back , at that point we would be driving in separate vehicles for the next 6 hours until we reached home. Took another different route home, saw more interesting country.
Glad to be back home and having this day off to relax before heading back into a busy work week.
A fantastic and wonderful weekend away.
Traveling mercies, no problems on the road or with traffic.
Seeing friends that we haven't seen, most for 34 years!
Getting caught up on who is where and who is no longer with us.
Feeling really good about my appearance and seeing that I was one of the "smaller" people there!
Seeing so many of our native community and hearing how well they have done in life. Many of whom have wonderful careers and many who have already been able to retire!
Knowing that my SP friends were thinking of me and waiting for my arrival back home. HEY I'M BACK NOW!
Now it's time to go and visit the blogs and catch up on all that I have missed.
