Mother Nature PLEASE !

Saturday, April 13, 2013

We have a nasty mix of sleet, rain and snow happening and I'm not impressed with Mother Nature!
Where we had finally achieved bare streets and sidewalks, we now have a build up of mushy icy snow. Siggghhh.

So, okay, I can't change the negative of it snowing, but I can change my attitude, so here goes.

My Positives:
1. It's the middle of April so this winter blast can not last for long, the temperatures will rise, the sun will come out and once again we will have some spring. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
2. Today is my monthly massage treatment and I'm looking forward to having Wendy do her magic. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
3. Memorial service date is set for my Aunt and it's confirmed that some family that we haven't seen in a very long time will be attending. That is the plus side of the service. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
4. It's the weekend and Garry has the weekend off also, yay, hubby and wife time. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
5. My dreams are alive and I'm thanking the Universe for fulfilling them. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
6. Lot's of before unheard stories and unseen pictures have been surfacing between the cousins since Aunt Muriel's passing. What a blessing. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
7. I'm reading a wonderful book with some great resonating truths for me. (Pennies from Heaven). Thank you, thank you, thank you.
8. Garry is ready to begin some of the projects that we still have to do to finish the renos in the house. Thank you, thank you, thank you for his healing and that he feels he can tackle things now.
9. Thank you for the phone call from my brother yesterday and that he is back working. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
10. Thank you for the blessing of this new day of life, help me to use the time wisely and to be a blessing to those around me. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a wonderful Saturday. Don't forget to include laughter into your day.

Hugs,
Wanda

YIKES - I'm glad I live in North Carolina, where it's to be in the 70's again today & we've got a "rain" of yellow pollen that's turning everything yellow - cars, outdoor furniture, etc.

Glad you can find lots of things to be thankful for, and we'll be sending springtime your way soon!

Happy Friday!

Friday, April 12, 2013

So glad that it's Friday today. Tomorrow I get to sleep in at least until 7am. The older I get the more difficult it is to get up at 4:30 am each morning for work. *grin*.

Nothing major planned for my weekend other than the usual household chores. Although it's been a very sad week with the passing of my aunt (the last in her generation), it's been a great week of sharing memories and photos with cousins.

My Thank you's:
1. Thank you that it is Friday and my last work day of this week, a lovely weekend ahead of me. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
2. Thank you that all the preparations for Aunt Muriel's memorial service are falling into place for the family. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
3. Thank you for a night of mostly sleeping, I'm not so dragged out this morning. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
4. Thank you for the wake up call that my brother has received in regards to his health. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
5. Thank you that the income tax returns have arrived, what a blessing! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
6. Thank you teaching me the importance of a grateful heart. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
7. Thank you for my friends and family and their continued support and encouragement. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
8. Thank you for the beauty of my hibiscus plant that has produced some new flowers. They brighten up my day. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
9. Thank you for our library that is so well used by all. It's great to walk through the doors and see so many people actively using the resources. We are blessed to have such a beautiful facility. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
10. Thank you for the ability to smile and spread a ripple of positive energy out into the world. A smile can reach a vast distance. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a wonderful Friday. Give thanks for the opportunities that this day brings.

April 11

Thursday, April 11, 2013

I was thrilled to look out the window this morning and see that once again the weather forecasters were inaccurate! The snow we were supposed to get overnight did not materialize. Yay! Not to say that it might not still show up, but at least for now, I'm not having to shovel and drive on snowy roads.

Yesterday I popped into my dentists office to see about him signing a letter that I need signed prior to having my surgery. I'm glad that I did as it requires me to have him actually look in my mouth as opposed to only the hygienist. I had thought that seeing I was in for a cleaning only a couple of weeks ago that might be enough. Bless their hearts, they worked me into their schedule for next Monday morning for a brief visit. I will have to take a bit of time off work to go, but it's early in the morning so I will have time to make up the time once I'm back to work. Sure glad that I didn't leave the letter until later to do, as it states that there has to be at least 8 weeks between any dental work and having my surgery. Interesting how one effects the other.

My Thank you's:
1. Thank you that I had the fore sight to attend to the signed letter by my dentist and that they were able to schedule me in very quickly. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
2. Thank you for the guidance assisting me with an issue at work yesterday. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
3. Thank you that the predicted snow for overnight passed us by. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
4. Thank you that I have fresh veggies and fruit in my fridge once again. I've got some great veggie snacks to take to work today. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
5. Thank you for the work that awaits me at work, it certainly makes the day go faster. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
6. Thank you for the ability to learn and grow as a person. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
7. Thank you for the challenges that are presented to me that enable me to rise to the occasion and take those steps to becoming all that I have been created to be. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
8. Thank you for the blessing of my family both near and far. Bless Sherri on her birthday today. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
9. Thank you for great reading material that challenges me to think about and consider others views on things. Through them, I've been able to reconsider, evaluate and either validate or not, my own opinions. What a great world we live in that allows us the freedom of speech. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
10. Thank you for the joy that I receive from being grateful. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a blessed and wonderful Thursday.
Hugs,
Wanda

Hump day and Pay day...woo hoo!

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

Yay, today marks half way through the work week and for me it's also payday. I love getting all my bills paid right away and then doing a fruit and veggie shop. It just gives such a great feeling of accomplishment.

Last evening we had a staff social gathering which turned out to be a lot of fun. One of the local eateries has chosen our library as their place to donate to this quarter and we thought it would be a great way of saying thank you by having as many staff as could go there for snacks after work. It was great to have so many show up. I was very good and had only a garden salad with a side of blueberry vinaigrette. That ended up being my supper as by the time I got home, I was ready to head to bed.

My Plus's:
1. A great evening out with co-workers and a great way to show our appreciation to Original Joe's. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
2. I had a pretty good sleep last night, only woke up a couple of times and was able to fall right back to sleep. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
3. Lot's of wind and cold, but no snow! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
4. It's payday today and I can stop for fresh fruit and veggies after work. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
5. My cousins shared some great photos on FB yesterday. Some I haven't seen for years. Lots of great memories. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
6. It's my monthly massage Saturday coming up this weekend, something great to look forward to. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
7. I have a steady and busy day ahead of me at work today. I like when I am not looking for things to do. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
8. Phone call from our son to let us know that his truck was able to be repaired and for much less than he had been told. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
9. There are signs of spring even though it's still very cold and there is still lots of snow that needs to melt. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
10. I have been blessed with a new day of life and the opportunity to continue on my journey to complete health. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a great and wonderful day. Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Hugs,
Wanda

Glad you had a good night's rest, it sure helps, I did better last night too and Mario didn't get me up so early this morning. We have rain here today, but that's ok as we needed it, things were getting pretty dry. Clenton will be having PT every Tues. & Thur. this month, yesterday's session and evaluation went well. Clenton is doing much better than what I thought he's do, just being home has helped him a lot, we are so blessed. Glad Quin's repairs were less than expected. That was nice of you and your co-workers to go and eat at the place that donated to your library, a nice way to show your appreciation for their support. Enjoy your hump/payday.

Hugs,
Shirl

Sad/happy day

Tuesday, April 09, 2013

One is never quite prepared to lose a loved one. Yesterday morning we got the news that my Mom's last remaining sister was called home during the night. Although we knew it was happening, it's still a moment that you aren't ready for in many ways. RIP Aunt Muriel. We will truly miss you here on Earth. You brought so much laughter and happiness to those you called your own.
The happy part of Aunt Muriel's passing is that she is once again reunited with all her sisters. The "girls" are once again back together and most likely having a wonderful reunion.

My Thank yous:
1. I am thankful that I am a part of the legacy that the "girls" have left behind. May we bring as much joy to life as they did. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
2. I am thankful for all the pivotal moments in my life that Aunt Muriel was a part of. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
3. We may have broken "cold" records yesterday here, but at least there wasn't more snow. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
4. Thank you for my busy day at work yesterday, not only did it keep me busy, but it kept me focused. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
5. Thank you that today after work several of us from work are gathering to say thank you to a local eatery for their choosing our library as their place of donation this past quarter. Thank you Original Joe's for your generous donation. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
6. Thank you for the blessing of having internet, it has been a wonderful way of all the cousins sharing and remembering. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
7. Thank you that tomorrow is payday for me, it's time to get some fresh fruit and veggies again. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
8. Thank you for the restful night's sleep last night. I'm ready to face the day. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
9. Thank you for the gift of memories and the importance of keeping them alive. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
10. Thank you for the gift of a new day of life and with the opportunities this day has to offer that I can continue to grow and learn. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a blessed and wonderful day,
Hugs,
Wanda
