The temps have dropped slightly and the snow has started!

Sunday, February 17, 2013

I will be doing some snow shoveling this morning as my exercise. I'm not really complaining as the universe has been good to me since Garry broke his leg and isn't able to help. We have only had small snow storms and not big dumps. Stuff that I have been able to manage and with our girls help keep things cleared.

Keeping our friend Marla and her family in my prayers. She is in the hospital and undergoing some procedures to determine the next course of action. May God keep her in his care and grant peace and comfort to her family.

My Gratefuls:
1. I'm grateful for a nice dinner out last night with my hubby. We went to Kelsey's where I had a veggie burger (without the bun) and some fries. I didn't finish my meal as there was just too much. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
2. I'm grateful for information about Marla so that I can keep her in my prayers. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
3. I'm grateful that we have had several days without snow and today's snow is falling when I don't have to be at work. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
4. I'm grateful for the gift of healing in Kaeli and Garry's bodies. Lord I thank you for the restoration. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
5. I'm grateful for having this three day weekend and being able to relax. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
6. I'm grateful for finding my missing book so that I can take it back to the library. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
7. I'm grateful that our big back yard that gives Sage a place to play and run in safety. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
8. I'm grateful for to have the ability to see, hear and speak, they truly are great gifts to have. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
9. I'm grateful for my fireplace that buns both gas and firewood. We always have a back up source for heat and cooking. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
10. I'm grateful for the upcoming spring weather and all the renewal it brings with it. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a blessed and wonderful day. Give thanks for all the blessings in your life.

Hugs,
Wanda

Weekends are the best!

Saturday, February 16, 2013

I'm loving weekends more and more as I get older! After a week of needing to be up at 4:30 am for work, the weekends allow me to sleep in at least until 7am. It is still early by many peoples standards, but it's a great sleep in for me *grin*.

Even Sage was good this morning and let me sleep in. She has become used to getting to go outside earlier in the morning, so for her to wait is really nice.

My agenda for today: Take Garry to renew his driver's license, it was due on his birthday in January, but we didn't rush as he still can't drive with his leg in a cast. Laundry, always laundry to do on the weekends, Got shopping for a baby gift so that I can get it mailed off to Julie and Mike. There wee bundle of joy has chosen to arrive early. Do so banking and pay some bills. Get some groceries. Yep, it looks like it might be a busy day!

My Gratefuls:
1. I'm grateful for technology that allows us to keep up to date with friends and family. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
2. I'm grateful for the new life that is joining Julie and Mike's family. A new little surrogate granddaughter for us. We are so excited and can hardly wait to make her acquaintance. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
3. I'm grateful that it appears to be another day free of snow falling. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
4. I'm grateful for the gift of healing that is at work in Garry and Kaeli's bodies. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
5. I'm grateful for Shyra's boyfriend and his loving and caring ways with Shyra. He is a blessing in all our lives. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
6. I'm grateful for the assurances from my guides, angels and Ascended Masters that all will be well and they are surrounded our family. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
7, I'm grateful for my job that allows me to earn money to enjoy my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
8. I'm grateful for the joy that is in each day that is mine for the taking. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
9. I'm grateful for the challenges that come my way as they allow me to grow and learn. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
10. Most of all, I'm grateful for a new day of life. What a blessing to know that God still has a purpose for me to fulfill here on earth. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a wonderful Saturday, take the time to laugh and enjoy the day.
Hugs,
Wanda

Friday, February 15, 2013

We have a long weekend this weekend to boot! YAY. Monday is considered Family Day in our province so an extra nice weekend for many. Unfortunately, Garry doesn't get the day off, but he's had so many days off with his broken leg that this year it really doesn't matter.

Nothing for news this morning. Just the same old, same old. I don't mind that every once in awhile. Sometimes it's just good to drift with the current. *grin*

6. I'm grateful for my friends far and wide and being able to keep in touch through the internet. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
7. I'm grateful that this winter has been much easier to cope with than it normally is. Thank you for the sunshine. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Happy Valentine's Day

Thursday, February 14, 2013

I almost forgot that it was Valentine's today. Garry and I don't usually do anything special on this day as we try all year long to make each day a special day. But this year with both of us having mobility issues, I'm sure it has slipped his mind too! *grin*

Not much for news this morning. I know that I have a busy day at work ahead. Being off on Tuesday and then yesterday being in training sessions all day didn't allow for much desk work time. We have a long weekend coming up this weekend also. It's "Family Day" in Alberta on Monday. Yay, a sleep in day! *grin*

My Gratefuls:
1. I'm grateful that yesterday's training sessions were so good. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
2. I'm grateful that the weird blizzard conditions that we experienced here yesterday did not last long and I don't have tons of snow to shovel. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
3. I'm grateful for my family and the love that we share. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
4. I'm grateful for my friends who support and encourage me. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
5. I'm grateful that yesterday was payday and I can now pay bills and buy groceries. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
6. I'm grateful for the gift of healing that is taking place in Kaeli and Garry. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
7. I'm grateful for the creation of our bodies that can mend and restore themselves. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
8, I'm grateful for the experiences that life brings my way so that I might learn lessons and put into practice lessons that I have learnt. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
9. I'm grateful for the ability to still go up and down stairs and to keep my muscles working so that when I have my operation I will be able to continue to work those muscles. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
10. I am grateful for the joy of being alive and the knowledge that I am right where I'm meant to be. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a blessed and wonderful day,
Hugs,
Wanda

Happy Valentine's Day my friend. Clenton and I went to Taco Bell for lunch, I just had a hankering for it. I made instant strawberry pudding for us to have with supper tonight and maybe we'll watch the movie Moonstruck tonight. Mario was a bad boy last night from 2 a.m. on he kept waking me up, I know what he wanted, he wanted to be fed some canned cat food instead of eating his dry, but I only give him the canned in the morning at breakfast time, I wouldn't give in to him as then he'd try that trick all the time so he could get what he wants, I still love him, lol. Later this afternoon will be going to the adult foster home to see Alice and take her the owl I made for her and some homemade goodies, she loves sweets and she is this little tiny woman. Love all your gratefuls, we are so very blessed. Feb. seems to be quickly going by, each day we get a little closer to spring, woo hoo! We are up close to 40 again today, but temps are suppose to drop and winter weather will return once again. I hope you have a relaxing evening.

Hugs,
Shirl

Moving forward

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

So the much awaited for appointment with my specialist yesterday ended up being pretty much a dud! I did get to my appointment and I did see the specialist, but it was a total waste of time and tax payers money!.

I still have no confirmed surgery date and I still have all my questions. Turns out that even though my specialist was aware that I was coming in for those things, he was acting solely in the role of making sure that he would get paid for yet another visit! His first question to me when I arrived was "well, what have you decided"....(me....I want to go ahead with the surgery). The next question, "do you have an orthopedic surgeon and do you care where it's done"...(me...uh, no, I'd just like to get the surgery done as soon as possible). Last statement, " I'll refer you to Dr. Hunka and he will do the surgery at the Mesiacordia Hospital. You'll see him for a consult here on April 4th and you can ask him all your questions. Good Luck with everything." That pretty much wrapped up my visit, other than going back out to the waiting room and handing papers to his receptionist who then booked my consult appointment with the Dr. Hunka for April 4th!

On the plus side, I had a day off work to go home and enjoy. Oh yes, and I have x-rays to look forward to again on both knees as by the time I see the surgeon, the prior x-rays will be too old. You just have to love the medical system.

My gratefuls:
1. I'm grateful that the roads were good for traveling into the city for my appointment. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
2. I'm grateful that I don't have months of waiting to see the surgeon. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
3. I'm grateful that I had a day off work to enjoy being at home. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
4. I'm grateful that I have a sense of humor and can see the craziness of my situation. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
5. I'm grateful that I have my health and do not have to deal with the medical system on frequent basis. I've seen more doctors in one year than I've seen in the past 10 years. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
6. I'm grateful for my crazy life as it provides some amazing opportunities to laugh and practice positiveness. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
7. I'm grateful for the gift of healing in both Kaeli and Garry. Both are on the mend from their accidents. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
8. I'm grateful for the assurances that my life is lived in faith. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
9. I'm grateful for the blessings that are on their way for me today. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
10. I'm grateful for my friends and family, who help to keep me moving forward. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a blessed and wonderful day.
Hugs,
Wanda

It's great that you can see all the positives amidst a negative experience. Good luck with your surgery!
