Loving the sunshne!

Sunday, January 27, 2013

We have had sunshine for the past three days...I'm loving it! I think that is one of the parts of winter that causes me the most grief...the lack of sunshine. I'm enjoying having it flood in through the windows and giving me the feeling of all is right in my world.

Yesterday, Garry's buddy picked him up and they went out for lunch. I had some me time! I got all my household chores done and had a few minutes to just sit and meditate.
Quin made a surprise visit back home to see his dog. Sage was beside herself when she heard him. He took her home for overnight and then we will have her back again for a couple of weeks as he finishes out this job site. She is going to be one disappointed puppy to know that she is not going with him, but rather having to stay with us again. We will be listening to whimpers for the next couple of days again.

My Blessings:
1. Some "me" time yesterday when Dennis picked up Garry and took him out for awhile. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
2. Quin arrived home for a wee visit and seeing Sages' excitement at seeing him. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
3. The girls came over last evening for a visit and celebrate Garry's up coming birthday with him. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
4. All the beautiful sunshine we have been having. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
5. The girls are going to help me go through things and prepare for a spring garage sale. It's time to simplify and downsize some what. They have some things they want to put in a garage sale too. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
6. Although I did not get in a lot of steps yesterday, I was under my calories at the same time. So hopefully they balanced each other out. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the staying under in my nutrition intake.
7. Garry's birthday tomorrow, I'm so blessed to have him in my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
8. With Garry not being able to get out and about so freely with his broken leg, we have actually saved money during this time. Always a plus. Now if I can only persuade him that we should throw that extra left over onto the mortgage. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the blessing.
9. Our neighbor was very kind and cleared the sidewalk in front of our place. The weather was nice enough yesterday that he was able to scrape down to the cement. Bless his heart. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
10. We are one month closer to spring. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a wonderful and peaceful Sunday.
Hugs,
Wanda

Beautiful Full Moon lighting up the sky

Saturday, January 26, 2013

I get to take advantage of the beautiful full moon this morning as it's still pitch black outside. It's so bright that it is lighting up the Living room as it shines in the window.

Not much on my agenda for today other than house hold chores and enjoying not having to be at work.
I'm up early this morning despite not having to go to work. Sage has her own agenda of when I am supposed to get up, her back up is Kismet!.

My Positives:
1. It blesses my heart to hear that my simply exercise of listing my positives/blessings in the mornings is blessing others day and giving them encouragement. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
2. There is sunshine predicted again for today....ahhh how I love the sunshine in the winter months. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
3. I have a weekend free to do my own schedule of things. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
4. Garry and I went out for supper last evening, I had a nice big salad. I love salads, just hate making them *grin*. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
5. We have one more payday this month, it's a 3 payday month...got to love those! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
6. A good day at work yesterday, I managed to get all my in basket cleared away as well as my email. A fresh start next week. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
7. I am back on track with keeping gluten, dairy and sugar out of my diet. It's interesting to see how much they are affecting my body. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
8. It's a great day to be alive! Opportunities as yet unknown, but exciting to look forward to. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
9. I have a partner that I can share laughter, tears and hugs with it. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
10. Garry and I are on the same page with our list of goals for this year. Always a plus! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a wonderful fun filled Saturday.
Hugs,
Wanda

Great way to start your day!!!
I was up with the moon today too!
Sat and sparked and watched it set into the horizon. Funny that it turned kind of a peach color when it was at the horizon. Yes, today is sunny.
It is a good day to be alive!!!!

Another work week draws to a close.

Friday, January 25, 2013

This has been a very long work week. I'm so looking forward to the weekend.

Weather patterns have changed again and we are supposed to have sunshine during part of the day right through the weekend and temps of only minus 4 during the day. Woo Hoo! I could use a weekend of not having to shovel snow.

I blew my diet last evening. I had some pizza for supper. I was so tired that nothing really appealed to me and Garry wanted homemade pizza for supper. I'm sure that it contained all three of the categories that I have been attempting to cut from my intake. (gluten, dairy and sugar). Oh well, what's done is done and I need to move on. Today will be back on track.

My positives:

1. My meeting for late in the day got rescheduled at the last minute and was held earlier, which meant that my work day did not extent as long as it was originally supposed to. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
2. Sunshine yesterday (need I say more) Thank you, thank you, thank you.
3. It's Friday (again need I say more) Thank you, thank you, thank you.
4. Although I didn't stick to my gluten, dairy and sugar free diet yesterday, I am not beating myself up over it. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
5. I have learned by eliminating (even temporarily) the above from my diet, that the week of not eating them has allowed some healing in my body. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
6. No snow predicted for the next couple of days. Snow...No, Sunshine...yes. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
7. I have set some financial goals for myself this year...to make at least 6 extra mortgage payments this year. I would like to have my mortgage paid off within the next 5 years. I want to be mortgage free when I consider retirement. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
8. Garry is going to attempt a full day at work today. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the healing that is happening in his leg.
9. I had a positive meeting yesterday with my selectors. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
10. I have been blessed with a new day of life, bring on the opportunities for growth and learning. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a wonderful Friday.
Hugs,
Wanda

We had a minor ice storm last night. I went out a bit earlier to test the roads and saw a young lady on a bike take a really big spill. Fortunately she was ok, but she was shook up. She spoke broken English but I knew where she was going because a family from India owns the Dunkin' Donuts up the road and she kept pointing that way.

Along with another wonderful couple we loaded her bike into a truck and they took her on to work. I couldn't get the fear in her eyes out of my mind. She lives in a land she is not familiar with and doesn't speak the language very well and had to navigate ice covered roads with little or no help. It crossed my mind how fortunate I am and how much I moan about the little things in my life.

I'm in for a long day...

Thursday, January 24, 2013

It's going to be a very long day today. At minimum a 10 hour work day, and that is providing that we stay on track at our meetings and don't get bogged down in needing all the i's dotted and the t's crossed. There are some very annal attendees. On the plus side...Shyra and her boyfriend are coming over this evening to help out with the shoveling of snow. We are expected between 5 to 10 cm of snow today. Bless their hearts.

Garry is going to hobble off to work this morning too. One of his co-workers has offered to pick him and take him and then he will either wait for me to be done work or catch a ride home with someone else. Life has a way of working things out so everyone gets what they need.

My Positives:
1. I don't need to shovel snow this morning, the shoveling that I did yesterday after work is still holding! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
2. Shyra and Kyle are going to come over this evening and shovel snow if we get the dump of snow that is predicted. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
3. So grateful that the snow plows cleared our street a couple of days ago. At least we can get out of our street. With the snow that has fallen since they cleared, it would have been really bad. Thank you, thank you., thank you.
4. What a blessing having Kristy picking Garry up for work this morning so that I don't have leave work to take him. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
5. We had a phone call from Quin yesterday. It was good to hear that he is doing good in all this freezing weather and snow. His job is an outside job. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
6. Garry enjoyed the white rice pasta that I made last night. It's nice that he is willing to try the gluten-free things with me. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
7. I was able to get to the grocery store yesterday after work and pick up some more fruit, veggies and some coconut milk. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
8. I'm doing well on keeping gluten, dairy and sugar out of my diet. I must admit it is not that easy. When you start looking at labels really closely and see how much sugar and dairy is some things, it's really amazing. Salt is another big culprit. Thank you, thank you, thank you that I'm doing as well as I can.
9. Tomorrow is Friday...in my books that is awesome! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
10. I have a new day to be all that I have been created to be. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a wonderful day.
Hugs,
Wanda

Glad you had a little break from the shoveling and that your kids are so willing to help mom and dad out. Jan. is not being a good month for me I am having a real hard time, eating all the wrong things, way too much sugar and not getting back into my exercise like I was before I got sick, I set a goal for next week to get to the gym at least 3 times, got to start somewhere. You do have a long day in front of you, hope it goes well and what needs to be accomplished gets accomplished. Hope you can have a relaxing evening.

Hugs,
Shirl

Yay, no snow shoveling this morning

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

Yay, it didn't snow over night and I don't have to shovel snow first thing this morning. It's not that I mind the exercise, it's the trying to not fall on icy patches hidden under the snow that is the problem. One of us with a broken leg is enough!

My fellow early morning co-worker is gone on holidays for two weeks. I will take on some of his duties while he is gone, while others will take on some of his other duties. It's nice to have co-workers that can step in and help while one is away.

It looks like we will have Sage (the dog) with us now until Saturday. Quin texted me last night to let me know that the job is taking longer than expected. Not a problem, she is a good girl and pretty easy to take care of. She misses him though and every time she hears the garage door open, she starts to get excited thinking that her master is home. Poor girl.

My positives:
1. I have a nice apple and a gluten-free bagel for my breakfast this morning. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
2. Getting a text message from Quin last evening letting us know how things were. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
3. Kaeli and I had a safe trip into the city at rush hour yesterday and were able to get all her supplies for her Silversmithing class. Her girlfriend in Australia signed her up for a class as a Christmas present. It's something she has been longing to do for a while. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
4. No new snow to shovel this morning, I don't have to rush so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
5. Gail and I have been able to roll out the new selecting tool for our selectors and now it's up to them to use it. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
6. I'm doing pretty good on keeping gluten, dairy and sugar out of my diet. I'm noticing some minor differences in how I am feeling. I haven't been able to follow precisely as it is amazing how many things have one or the other in them. I'll keep on trying thought. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
7. I will have time after work today to stop and get some unsweetened coconut milk. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
8. Garry's leg is giving him signs that it's beginning to heal, I'm keeping positive that when he goes back to see the specialist on Feb 8, that he won't need to have the surgery. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
9. I enjoy the added security of the friendly bus driver who is parked on his break in front of the library each morning as I walk from the staff parking lot to the staff entrance at work. It's dark out in the mornings and it's nice to have someone who greets you with a wave and notices that you are there. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
10. I have a new day ahead of me, filled with untold opportunities to be the best I can be. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a wonderful Wednesday, make it the kind of day that's filled with wise choices.

Hugs,
Wanda

We were a little warmer at 2 above this morning, but guess it's back to minus temp tonight, as soon as the sun starts to set you can feel the coldness creeping in, furnaces are getting a workout for sure. When we came back from the post office this afternoon Mario was all curled up asleep on my bed, he looked pretty comfy. Have a good evening.

Wanda, you would not believe the people in the USA who've forgotten that when the calender says January it means its supposed to be winter. You'd think the world has come to an end.

Of course in my neck of the woods we havent really had winter for two years. What we've had is triple digit summers.

Enjoy your day
