Serenity Sunday

Sunday, November 04, 2012

I love the quiet of the mornings before the world awakes. It's still dark outside, no traffic or noise. Sitting here, the only one awake and contemplating the blessings in my life. There is so much moisture in the air that the fog is very thick. Makes me happy that I don't have to be anywhere.

My blessings:
1. Such a blessing to have had Kyle and Shyra stop in yesterday for a wee visit and Kyle's willingness to show me how to do a couple of things on my ipad. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
2. Garry and I made a Costco run and while there had some great inspirations for Christmas gifts. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
3. A lovely quiet evening with Garry sharing and watching some TV. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
4. The kids are coming over today for family time. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
5. Household chores are done and my kitchen is cleaned up, no longer feel disjointed. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
6. I have a lovely new blanket for my bed that is cozy and warm. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
7. Blessed with the joy of the internet, which enables me to search out great gift making ideas. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
8. Blessed with a new day of life and the opportunities that it will unfold as the day goes on. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
9. Blessed with all my family close around me, that distance doesn't keep us from spending time together. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
10. Blessed with the gift of all the necessities of life and content to have those things. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a wonderful day. Take the time to be grateful for all the blessings in your life.

Hugs,
Wanda

I enjoyed a very nice sleep in this morning, didn't wake up until almost 8am. For me that is a very long sleep in seeing as I am usually up by 4:30 am each weekday morning for work.

My jaw is feeling somewhat better this morning, only hurts now when I yawn or try to bite down on something. So it's getting better. Yay!

Nothing much on my agenda this weekend, a run to Costco, laundry, household chores and a good book.

My Blessings:
1. I am grateful for my jaw feeling much better this morning. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
2. Garry just got up and told me he wants to take me out for breakfast...now that is an awesome way to start the weekend. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
3. Phone call from our son last night to let us know that he had made it home safely. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
4. It's stopped snowing so no shoveling for today. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
5. I have a knee brace that helps to keep my knee stable, especially on these icy walkways. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
6. A lovely long sleep in this morning, feeling so much more rested. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
7. It's the weekend and I have two days off work. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
8. Blessed with a new day of life and an opportunity to do even better. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
9. Blessed with the gift of vision that enables me to see my loved ones and the world around me. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
10. Blessed with the gift of hearing that allows me to hear the sounds of laughter and love. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

TGIF

Friday, November 02, 2012

This has been a roller coaster kind of week and I'm so grateful that the work week is almost over.
My dental appointment yesterday saw the last of all my old fillings being completed. Because they were done so long ago (before technology had advanced), it was a lot of delicate and hard work removing them and then rebuilding and molding the new filling. And, yes, I had a lot of fillings as a child...some I really questioned as to whether or not I actually needed them considering the circumstances of having received them in the first place. Amazing to think that once I was no longer in those circumstances, I have never had another need for a filling. Anyway all water under the bridge and now I should be good for the rest of my life! My jaw is very sore still this morning as is my right ear area. I honestly thought that I wouldn't be able to close my mouth once things were done yesterday. Having TMJ is not fun. On the plus side....I have an amazing dentist and the work is all done.

My gratitudes:

1. Thank you, thank you, thank you for my dentist, his compassion, his skill and genuine caring about the person in his chair.

2. Thank you, thank you, thank you that although my jaw is sore, the work is all done and I won't have to have my mouth open until March when it's regular cleaning time.

3. Thank you, thank you, thank you for Garry's willingness to finish shoveling the driveway when he got home from his work last night.

4. Thank you, thank you, thank you that it is now Friday and the end of my work week.

5. Thank you, thank you, thank you for guidance and support from above this past week.

6. Thank you, thank you, thank you for Kaeli's car once again producing some heat. I continue to have faith that she will be provided with a reliable vehicle going forward.

7. Thank you, thank you, thank you that the snow has stopped falling.

8. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the gift of healing that is restoring and mending my body.

9. Thank you, thank you, thank you that I only have one more week to go before my MRI appt.

10. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for the blessing of my friends and family. Their support, love and encouragement means so much to me.

Have a wonderful day,
Hugs.

Just get me through today.

Thursday, November 01, 2012

Yesterday was a tough day at work and last evening was a tough one too. Today I have my last dental work done and all I can say is ....Thank you Lord for being here with me.

I had a situation at work with the manager of our Adult Services department and that finally ended with me having to go to my manager and have her follow the proper channels and go to the director about the issue. Thank you Lord, that You worked things out so that the best outcome was arrived at. I hate strife and conflict, but even more I hate lack of respect.

Around 4:30 I got a phone call from Kaeli, who was in tears and had a hard time telling me what was wrong. She had just received word that a very good friend had died. A heart breaking night for all of us as we knew Serge also. At this point we haven't many details, but my gut feeling tells me that it may have been suicide. Please keep his family in your prayers as fly over from France to Vancouver to deal with what is necessary.

All in all a tough day yesterday on many levels. On the plus side....I did the right thing at work as I have peace about it and know that God's hand was in control and I was able to be right for Kaeli when she needed Mom.

Today, it's off for my final appointment at the dentist's. I'm praying for a quick session and pain free time.

My Blessings:
1. Thank you, thank you, thank you Lord for the outcome for the situation with the AS manager at work.

2. Thank you, thank you, thank you, that I was home from work and able to be there for Kaeli when she received such devastating news.

3. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for the knowledge that God's hand is at work in Serge's family and that God loves Serge and will heal him from all his conflicts.

4. Thank you, thank you, thank you for Garry making it home safe and sound from work last night. The roads are treacherous with ice.

5. Thank you, thank you, thank you that I have a long weekend to look forward to this month.

6. Thank you, thank you, thank you for Dawnelle and her sense of humour that is so delightful. She always make a person laugh.

7. Thank you, thank you, thank you for online shopping! I need to get some Christmas ideas flowing and with my knee acting up, walking around the malls is not happening right now.

8. Thank you, thank you, thank you that my family is on board with simplifying Christmas and getting back to more homemade things.

9. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the gift of a new day of life, help me to appreciate and give thanks for each challenge and blessing that comes my way today.

10. Thank you, thank you, thank you for answered prayer.

Have a wonderful day, take your challenges and find the lesson in them and give thanks for the opportunity to learn and grow.

Hugs,
Wanda

Happy Halloween!

Wednesday, October 31, 2012

Good Morning to all and a Happy Halloween to all that participate.

We are at a chilly minus 8 this morning with temps not supposed to get much higher during the day, same temp this evening. I don't anticipate too many little ones this evening. School night as well as cold and mostly older kids in our area now.

No snow to shovel this morning though...yay! I did have to shovel yesterday morning and then when I got home. A reprieve for today and then we are supposed to get a dump again tomorrow morning.

My gratefuls:

1. I am grateful for the knee brace that helps to keep my leg sturdy, especially when out shoveling snow on icy pavement. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

2. I am grateful for my meeting with my selectors manager yesterday that I believe finally got through the message that budgets need to be spent (by today!) Anything order after today will be coming out of their 2013 budget. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

3. I am grateful for a warm house and place to live especially during cold weather. My prayers are with those that do not have the same comforts. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

4. I am grateful for a new day of life that enables me to continue to work towards being a better and healthier person. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

5. I am grateful for my local library that keeps me supplied with wonderful reading material. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

6. I am grateful that Garry has a great job and that he works so diligently on behalf of his clients and his family. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

7. I am grateful for how quickly the time is passing now before my MRI appt. on Nov 10th. I am looking forward to finally having some results on my knee issues. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

8. I am grateful for have power, running water and all the necessities of life. I remember the days of having to use the outhouse and having our water delivered once a week to a 45 gallon drum! Thank you, thank you, thank you for my easy living.

9. I am grateful for Kismet who gives unconditional love and teaches me so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

10. I am grateful that I can trust God to help me through any and all situations in my life, knowing He has my best interests. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Have a great and wonderful day.
Hugs,
Wanda
