My kitchen looks like a whirl wind has gone through it, but I'm happy about it. It will get tidied up when I get home from work tonight. I have harvest from the garden in various different stages through out my kitchen, I have milk and water kefir grains doing their thing and I have an appreciation for all of it. Yeah, I'm a bit weird that way. To me it's all a sign of the blessings that have been bestowed upon us. Healthy food.

My thankfuls:
1. Thank you, thank you, thank you that I have garden space to learn to garden and to grow some veggies that will sustain us in a healthy manner.
2. Thank you, thank you, thank you for having a kitchen that I can prepare the harvest and meals in.
3. Thank you, thank you, thank you, that I have indoor plumbing that allows me to easily clean up.
4. Thank you, thank you, thank you, that I have a kitchen counter that family and friends like to gather around.
5. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for our home that shelters us and provides a warm place to live.
6. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for the services that we receive that provide us with electricity, water, and gas.
7. Thank you, thank you, thank you that I have never gone hungry.
8. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this new day of life that I might appreciate life around me.
9. Thank you, thank you, thank you for showing me that a heart filled with gratitude attracts even more to be grateful for.
10. Thank you, thank you, thank you for providing us with all that we have, we are so blessed.

Have a wonderful day, have you tried your saying "thank you" for all that you have???

Sept 17th

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

I had a lovely day off work yesterday. The sun was shining, Garry had the day off and life is good.

I got several of my green tomatoes wrapped in newspaper and stored away in the cold storage room. I have only one bowl full left that I am still undecided about. Got all the potatoes dug up and the garden beds are pretty much empty of anything that will produce edibles this year. I'm trying to figure out if and when to pull my peanut plants. Will have to see what the internet says.

I have my water kefir grains doing their thing on my counter. I'm excited to see what the results will be.

My positives:

1. I am thankful for having the day off work yesterday to spend getting things done at home and to spend with Garry.
2. I am thankful for being able to purchase the final two panels for my window curtains.
3. I am thankful for all the green tomatoes out of my garden, now I can ripen them slowly in the house and use up the rest in recipes.
4. I am thankful for the lovely phone chat with Garry's mom last evening and to know that she is doing so well.
5. I am thankful for our friends, who so quickly were able to find a new home after selling their old one.
6. I am thankful for the gift of health that keeps my body alive.
7. I am thankful for friends and family that support, love and encourage me.
8. I am thankful for those people in my past that have caused me to stretch and grow myself.
9. I am thankful for my parents who wisdom comes back to me and I'm learning to appreciate more each day.
10. I am thankful that God is a loving God who asks only that I be a loving person and strive to be all that He created me to be.

Have a wonderful Tuesday,

Working at home today.

Monday, September 17, 2012

I have today off work but that doesn't mean that I'm not working! My green tomatoes need some attention. I have to decide how many I am going to allow to ripen and how many I'm going to make something with. I need to get the rest of the potatoes dug and then get the beds all cleaned up for the winter.

We had a great day yesterday. Garry and I decided we were long overdue for a visit with my brother. We had been promising to go and see them this summer and see their new house. Yesterday we finally got to do that. We headed out to Lloydminster and arriving just about at noon. They have a lovely new home and I'm thrilled for them. They so badly needed a new a house. We decided to head out to a restaurant for lunch before we needed to start back home again. I had a really nice Greek salad at Kelseys. Garry had his steak sandwich. The young fella that served us was a very nice server. A great day!

My thankfuls:
1. I am thankful for the traveling mercies that were bestowed upon us as we did witness some very bad driving on the highways.
2. I am thankful for the gas money and safe vehicle to travel to Lloydminster with.
3. I am thankful for the new home that Layne and Kim have, they so deserve a nice safe home.
4. I am thankful for the opportunity to visit with family and catch up on news.
5. I am thankful for the lovely fleece blankets that Kim made and gave to us. They will be put to good use.
6. I am thankful for great traveling weather and the beautiful scenery.
7. I am thankful for having today off work so that I can finish up my harvesting chores.
8. I am thankful for the gift of life, a new day to be all that I can be.
9. I am thankful for all those that are called to serve in government. They have chosen a difficult path and with the volatile world situation, the decisions they must make are not easy. They will not be able to please everyone, but they do the best they can with the events and information they are handed.
10. I am thankful that the decisions that I make are based on what are best for my family and myself, not the my country or the world.

Let us all hold up in prayer those that are in government and needing to making hard decisions, regardless of our own personal convictions. Perhaps with prayer we can change the course of events.

YAY - so glad they got there. I can't wait to hear how you like them. Keep them in the fridge and give them a little sugar water if you can't get to them for a few days - this will make them happy.

Wanda, thank you for your inspiration and reflections on gratitude. Often it is about lack of and not gratitude for. I particularly liked #6. What line of work are you in? Currently we have had soooo many changes at my office ( health care related) it can be challenging to keep the positive atmosphere. I will strive to lend my + attitude to my staff and coworkers over the coming weeks! Have a great rest of the month of September........my favorite month of the year!
