It's a beautiful day...

Thursday, September 13, 2012

It's a beautiful day...okay, I can't really tell what kind of day it's going to be as yet, cause it's still very dark outside. I'm planning on having a beautiful day though *grin*

Yesterday was day a day spent mostly away from my desk at work. We had vendors meetings through out the day with some of our vendors reps. I really enjoy those meetings as they are more like sitting down with friends for a good chat that being all business.
It was a long day for me as I ended up banking 2.5 hours of overtime, but enjoyable anyway.

I'm continuing to move through the daily practices in the book I am reading and very much enjoying them.

I love the scripture: "Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will taken from him". Luke8:verse 18

I used to think it was a mean scripture before I really understood it. I began doing some investigation into it and wow, it runs hand in hand with the Law of Attraction. If you take a insert a hidden word into the scripture, it really comes alive. Try inserting the word "faith" or the word "gratefulness" after the word has and after the word have, read the scripture again.

Interesting right!

My thankfuls
1. I am thankful for new lessons that come my way so that I might understand and grow in spirit.
2. I am thankful that my phone re-charge cord was located and I can re-charge my phone without having to use Garry's cord.
3. I am thankful for my angels fixing my computer this morning so that I could log on.
4. I am thankful for great vendors meetings yesterday and knowing that the issues we brought forward will be dealt with.
5. I am thankful for gift of health that is keeping me alive.
6. I am thankful for all money that has been given to me through out my life.
7. I am thankful for the love that surrounds me and keeps me embraced with comfort and happiness.
8. I am thankful for technology that allows me to stay in touch with others.
9. I am thankful for sunshine that warms me as I spend time outdoors.
10. I am thankful for a new day of life that allows me to make wise choices in.

So blessed, how about you? Keep on focusing on all the positives in your life and more will be added onto you.

Hugs.
Wanda

September 11, so many memories

Tuesday, September 11, 2012

September 11, a day that for many reasons is etched on my mind forever. Happy Birthday, Mom. Although you are no longer here to celebrate with, you are not forgotten. It is also a day of remembrance for all those you lost their lives or had their lives changed forever thru 9/11.
Life has gone on and there is much to be thankful for.

1. I am thankful that I live in a country that allows me the freedoms that I enjoy.
2. I am thankful that I have grown up without the sound of bombing and death in my daily life.
3. I am thankful that my girls can freely choose whom to marry and whether to become educated or not.
4, I am thankful for all those who serve our country and continue to give of themselves so that I might enjoy my life.
5. I am thankful for the upbringing I received thru my parents, they taught me much about living honestly and with integrity.
6. I am thankful for my memories as they give me comfort and joy and yes, even tears.
7. I am thankful for conversations with my daughter that leave me filled with laughter.
8. I am thankful for a new day of life to receive new challenges and joys in.
9. I am thankful for guidance from above and the assurance that I need only ask for help and it will be there.
10. I am thankful for the multitude of blessings that come my way each and every day.

Have a wonderful day. Remember. It is so important that we never forget this day.

Hugs.

I was home sick from work that day and laying in bed watching the tv, I saw it but could not believe that, that was actually happening, what a horrible, horrible day. We do have so, so much to be thankful for.

Life is good!

Monday, September 10, 2012

How blessed our lives are. We have so much to be grateful for and by living a grateful life we ensure that it remains filled with things to be grateful for. Giving thanks is such a simply thing to do, yet gives us so much reward. Try it, see if it isn't true in your own life.

My list of thankfuls:
1. I am thankful for my home that provides me with shelter from the elements, keeping me warm and dry.
2. I am thankful for a mind that is capable of understanding and processing the world around me, leaving me grateful for all that I have and all that I don't have.
3. I am thankful for the harvest that comes from my garden, providing food for the winter months that is healthy and nutritious.
4. I am thankful for my health and the way my body repairs itself and maintains it self.
5. I am thankful for my cat and her unconditional love.
6. I am thankful for my job that pays me well and allows me to pay my bills.
7. I am thankful for Kefir grains that fill me with probiotics and help to keep me healthy without the use of synthetic medications.
8. I am thankful for Sparkpeople and the information they provide free of charge. The website allows me to gain the information that I need to be as healthy as I can be.
9. I am thankful for Garry and my children, the love and support that they provide me is wonderful.
10. I am thankful for eyes that can read allowing me to learn and grow.

How easy is it for you to come up with 10 "thankfuls" each morning? Each day that I do this, becomes easier than the day before. I find that through out my day, I am living in more awareness and gratitude. At night before going to bed, I review my day and give thanks for the best part of my day. Going to sleep at night with gratitude on my heart eases the way into sleep and is allowing me to wake-up the next morning in a great frame of mind.
Yep, I'm blessed.

Have a wonderful day,
Hugs,
Wanda

Harvesting the garden time.

Sunday, September 09, 2012

I have been slowly harvesting the garden each day that I am able to. As long as the wind and rain stay away, the harvesting progresses. I got all my onions pulled and they have been drying in the sun(and wind). I plan on putting them into an old pair of pantyhose, knotted between each onion so that I can just cut one onion off at a time. (Yes, I still have several pairs that I have had packed away...now I have a use for *grin*)
Started digging some of the potatoes yesterday and hope to finish that task today sometime.
I'm gong to tempt fate and see if I can't leave me tomatoes a bit longer...verdict is still out on this one. We are supposed to get rain and wind again Monday and Tuesday but in the 20's for the rest of the week. I am debating as it is not unusual to have frost at night by mid September.
I'm pretty sure that I won't be harvesting any watermelon even though they are trying. Just not enough of a growing season left for them. I'm going to see if I can grow them again next year but in a green house set up. I'm looking forward to seeing if my peanut plants have produced anything. I will leave them as long as possible in the ground. I'm already planning next years garden.

My gratefuls:
1. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn more about gardening so that I can grow my own veggies and fruit.
2. I am grateful for the gardening books that I have been able to purchase through Amazon that teach me how to do certain things.
3. I am grateful for the lovely sunny (but breezy) day yesterday. It was so nice to sit on my back deck and listen to the "ocean sounds".
4. I am grateful for a lovely evening sitting with my hubby on our new front deck. A lovely time to chat and share our day with each other.
5. I am grateful for hearing from Quin last evening and catching up on his news.
6. I am grateful for comments that others leave on my Spark page and blogs, they help me to grow and learn.
7. I am grateful for dreams, goals and challenges that help me to put into action the things that I desire.
8. I am grateful for having household chores to do as it means that I have a place to live.
9. I am grateful for having a cold storage room to put all my garden harvest and bulk buying into.
10. I am grateful for Costco that provides me with the opportunity to purchase things in bulk and know then that I have a supply for my family for the winter.

Have a blessed and wonderful day,
Hugs,
Wanda

Fried Green Tomatoes - YUM! It sounds like you have got a nice system going - how wonderful! I'd love to see those onions once they're all dressed up. One year I braided mine and hung them in the kitchen - they lasted so nice and long and I loved cutting them off one by one!
