Yay, sunshine (finally!)

We ended up with a gorgeous day yesterday, more sun than clouds and today is supposed to be even better! YAY.

The new veranda is finished and Garry and I took a few minutes before bedtime last night to sit out on if and break it in *grin*. One more project off our list of things we would like to get done. All I have to do now is decided what kinds of plants I would like to dress the area up and then it's on to the backyard and more work that awaits us there.

This morning I am going to get some of my steps in by walking to my appointment at the bank and home again. I'm hoping that my knee is going to hold up, if not, I will give Garry a call to come and pick me up. Then late this afternoon, I have an appointment to take care of my shaggy dog look. My hair grows so fast, I can hardly wait to get it cut.

My positives:
It's the beginning of my long weekend.
The last piece to a baby gift that I ordered has finally arrived and I can get the parcel off in the mail.
I discovered why my one garden area is not doing so well...it's become an ant hill! Now I am trying to naturally get rid of them with vinegar and water, but if that doesn't work, out will come the cornmeal.
Blessed with sunshine today.
Blessed with a new day of life...going to make great choices today to be the healthiest I can be.

First day of summer yesterday, longest day of the year and now we are headed back into the time of shorter daylight. It just doesn't seem possible that half the year is almost gone already.
Next weekend is the July long weekend for us...JULY!!!

I worked from home part of Tuesday and all of yesterday. I'm ready to get back to the office and start tackling the things that I have been unable to do from home...like actually getting my orders sent. They are input into the system, just can't send them electronically from home. Many things are not quite finished as I could only do so much on them from home. Today, I will tidy up all those loose ends, see what accumulated in my in basket and spend the day attempting to get on top of the list. Tomorrow, I'm off again...love having my Fridays off. It feels odd on one hand, but I know once I start back to working Friday again, it's going to be a transition once more.

Our front veranda now has all the railing up and it's almost ready to use. I will take some pictures this weekend and post so you can see. I need to figure out what greenery to plant around and in pots for full sun and get that done too.

My positives:
Being able to work from home when necessary.
Some time to enjoy a bit of sunshine on the deck.
This coming weekend and getting out into the garden to check on things.
Being blessed with a new day of life and untold opportunities to be as healthy as I can be.

Working from home today

I ended up coming home yesterday morning to work from home. The painters arrived and things got too much for me. Our director came in to work and came to see me and informed me that I was to go home. Thankfully our possible solution to getting my home computer to remotely connect to work was the right one! I have to leave my computer on at work in order for my home computer to work...such a simple solution.
My manager informed me yesterday afternoon that I might as well continue to work from home today as the painters apparently painted the wrong color and will have to come in and repaint this morning. Works for me *grin*.

I have lots of work to do, and as soon as my co-worker turns on my computer at work, I can get started.

My positives:
My scratchy throat from yesterday is better as is my nose bleed. Although my nose is a bit tender this morning.
Blessed with a great work situation and director.
Railing is starting to go up on the new veranda...only one small piece got installed yesterday before the rains started again.
Blessed with health, happiness and working on keeping a positive attitude.

Back on track with my steps

I'm back on track with my steps after a lazy weekend. Met my goal yesterday and some.

The steps are now all secured and in place for the new veranda and if the weather holds, the rails should be going up today or at least some of them. YAY.
I will take some pictures when it's all done so that I can share them with you. We won't be able to stain the veranda until next spring, as apparently you are not supposed to stain treated wood right away. I'm not sure if that is just the guys way of getting out of doing it now or if that is really true *grin*.

Crazy day at work yesterday for me. The first 3 hours of my day were spent being unable to get onto my computer. It apparently the domain did not recognize my computer. I found other things to do, but it wasn't anything that decreased the pile of work on my desk! I had to wait until a techie arrived at work and then get him to work on the issue. Finally up and running by half way through my work day, so I was able to tackle some of the priority stuff. This will be a busy week that's for sure.

My positives:
The veranda is almost done.
My recipe project is at the point that it is now just an updating project and adding of any new recipes. YAY!
Making progress with knitting strips for the teen club at the library.
Next project that I believe I will begin tackling is the "picture" project...this one is overwhelming but I will see if I can rope Kaeli into helping me with it *grin*.
My milk kefir grains are doing fantastic.
Blessed with a new day to be creative in.
Friends, family and life...what more could a body want.

Well my weekend is over, the sitting around and visiting is behind me, now it's time to get back in the swing of things and get my body moving.

The girls were over on Saturday evening and then popped over for Dad Breakfast/Brunch on Sunday and to spend some time with Dad (and Mom). The day ended up being free of rain although not free of the wind. It was nice to at least be able to spend some time out on the back deck enjoying brunch and visiting.

A busy work week ahead of me. It is interesting how working a short week each week at the moment increases the amount of work that I need to fit into 4 days instead of 5. I'm okay with that though, no moments of trying to look busy, I am busy!

My positives:
A great weekend, more sunshine that rain...is this a new trend starting (she says tongue in cheek)
Family time.
My washing machine is working great once again.
Blessed with a great family and a new day of life.

Have a great and successful Monday, keep on moving that body.

Glad the sunshine decided to shine for you. We did get some rain this morning, but need a lot more to help the farmers. I tracked nothing this weekend so am getting back on track today, made it to the gym and back home before the rain started, I'd have been soaked as it came pretty fast and hard at first.
