Yay, it a long week!

It the May long weekend here in Canada and Shyra and I both were able to get today off work also, making it a 4 day weekend. Woo Hoo.

We are going to head out to West Edmonton mall later this morning for a girls day and lots of walking. She is most likely going for the shoppng, but I'm going for the exercise *grin*
It's a great day for it as it's raining making doing any walking outdoors not so nice.

Tomorrow is supposed to be back to being sunny, so out in the garden I will go. I need to get the rest of my seedling transplanted and reseed the flowers seeds that Sage dug up. The soil should be nice to work in as we have had gentle rain for the past couple of days on and off.

My positives:
A nice 4 day weekend.
A day to spend with my youngest.
Opportunity to get lots of steps in while enjoying some window shopping.
I get to keep my knee moving.
Blessed with another day of life.
Blessed with friends, family and lots of love.

Nothing like the sound of a gentle rain to lull a person to sleep. It cooled things off nicely for a good sleep. Although my FitBit tells me that I woke up 9 times during the night, I at least feel like I had a sleep last night. Sure beats the 20 times that I woke up a couple of nights ago during the night.

We are supposed to get some rain on and off for the next couple of days. That is actually a good thing. As much as I love sunshine, we need this rain. The ground is very dry. I hope to get the rest of my garden planted this weekend and some of my flowers seeds replanted after a certain puppy decided that digging where I had just planted some seeds was great fun!

My positives:
I'm keeping on track and outside of Mothers Day last Sunday, I have been meeting my goal for steps each day.
I'm making head way with the work load on my desk at work.
My Hayes Job Classification is complete (finally). It goes to the Hayes board this week and over the next couple of weeks they will go through them and decide if there are any clarifications or changes that need to be made. This is a long process and we have been told that it could take up to a year for everything to be complete. At steps 1 and 2 on my part are done.
I have a huge armload of books to read. Why is it that all my holds at the library arrive at the same time *grin*.

I need to do something to shake things up a bit. I'm eating within my range, getting my water intake back up there and walking lots, but I don't feel like things are moving along like they should. As much as I don't enjoy strength training, I'm thinking that is what I am going to have to incorporate more of into my routine. Muscle burns calories...sooooo.

It was a warm day yesterday and a warm night for attempting to sleep. It was a no covers night last night! The skies are very dark looking this morning though. Rain storms are building. We can sure use the rain, just hope there is no lightening along with it. We have enough fires burning in the provinces as it is.

My positives:
Only two more work days this week and then a nice long weekend. Shyra was able to get Friday off also, so we are hanging out together...yay!
My reduced work schedule begins technically next week for the summer months, but in reality it actually starts this week. I finally get to use up some of my overtime hours.
Blessed with a new day to embrace.
Blessed with friends, family and unconditional love from Quin's dog. She is such a delight.

Yep, your body gets use to doing the same thing and if you only walk, you will definitely have to shake things up :) I walked 7 miles yesterday, WOOHOO. First time for that one, hee hee. Another day another dollar for the government...

Some days I wonder if I will ever see the day when I am not working to support not only my family but the government too!. I don't think it would be so bad if I was also being able to get the same retirement pension that our members of government will get, but alas, that is not ever going to happen. There, I've groaned and complained for the day, now I will do an attitude adjustment and just move forward.

It promises to be another beautiful day out today. Rain for tomorrow, but that is badly needed. There are already 4 out of control fires burning in the province. Things are very dry. There is a province wide fire ban in place. We aren't even allowed to use our fire pits in our back yards in case any sparks ignite something. I'm okay with the ban. What is really sad is that you know that the fires that are already burning have been caused by man as there have been no lightening strikes anywhere.

I have a busy day at work ahead of me, in fact the whole week promises to be a busy one. Time to get myself going here.

My positives:
I'm blessed with a loving family and friends.
A new day to grow and learn in .
Work, thus I get a paycheck.
The ability to move my body.
Food in my home.
So many blessings...makes a person feel really humble.

I do work for the government, and Congress is making sure I won't get the retirement you think I will get. I also pay taxes to support the government and have a 3.5 - 4.5 hour round-trip commute. My positives: DH, my cat, and almost 75 pounds gone with SP. Report Inappropriate Comment

Weekend is over and it's back to work

I had a lovely Mother's day yesterday. The weather couldn't have been better and family time was fantastic as always. I was so incredibly lazy though, there certainly wasn't much happening in the way of burning calories. On the other hand, I did stick pretty well to being mindful of what I was eating.

Got some of my garden planted over the weekend. Garry got some of the flowers we bought at the greenhouse transplanted. He does the flower pots and I do the veggies. I did break down though and plant some flowers seeds in some areas of my garden just for color. Yesterday's warm weather brought all the leaves out on the trees(my ocean is back!). I have noticed that my pear tree that I planted last years if even bursting with blooms. My apples trees are not far behind. Yay. Not sure if I will get fruit this year from them as they are so newly transplanted, but we will see.

My positives:
My family.
It's a new day and new week.
I start my reduced work schedule technically in June, but as I had already booked off an extra day for this up coming long weekend, basically it has started now! So blessed to work at a place where there is willingness to allow me to use up all my overtime in this manner. Four day work weeks for the summer!

Yeah - nice to see you got some gardening time in on Mother's Day and that things are beginning to blossom. I am really looking forward to getting into the garden when I return home ... my kefir was ready and waiting for me in the fridge after 10 days (I am surprised at how good it still tastes).
