I'm not on for long tonight, just a quick note.
We have tornado watches happening here right now. Three funnel clouds were spotted just south of us. Not nice weather out there, so shutting down the computer early and keeping alert.
Positives today...I got to sleep in until 7 am this morning. Our computer system at work was being upgraded and seeing as all my work is computer work, I didn't have to go in at my usual time. Woo Hoo!
I did have to work later than usual, but that was good also, as I didn't have to drive back to pick up Shy from work, I just worked until she was done!
I've just plain and simple had a great day, lots of laughs and jokes.
I'm heading out now, I'll see you all tomorrow. (I'll either still be here or else in Oz! )

Sunday already, where has the weekend gone?
We had a terrific thunder and lightening storm during the night, so not much sleep. There was also a tornado that touched down about 100km south of here yesterday, very unusual weather. More rain and more rain in the forecast...flood watches are now in effect. Mother nature can't seem to make her mind up!
A quiet day at home today. Yesterday we spent the day doing some yard work, or at least Garry did, I managed to sneak away every now and again! We did head to the greenhouses to buy some plants for the flower beds. They are still sitting in the garage waiting to be transplanted. Today we headed into Sears as they were having a big sale and Garry needed some new dress pants. The rest of the day has been spent relaxing and enjoying our own company. Did get in an hours walk while watching 2 TV programs, so felt like I accomplished some exercise today. Also got in 45 minutes of mall walking, a total of 537 calories burned just with walking today...not bad! I have found that taking my focus off of the minutes exercised and putting it back on the calories burned is making a difference in my weight elimination. I snuck a peek on the scales this morning, but official weigh in day is tomorrow morning, so will let you know the results tomorrow.
Work day again tomorrow and my face is still looking like I've had a run in with some kind of large pawed creature. The right side of my face will definitely instigate some conversations at work tomorrow. It's still very purple and ridged. I have to keep remembering not to rub it as it is becoming very itchy. As Garry says...if people ask (which I know they will), just telling them you have taken up lion training and the lion got the better of you! Gee thanks! You just have to love his sense of humor LOL.
Hope you have all had a wonderful weekend. I'll catch up with you all tomorrow. Remember to find your blessings and give thanks.

Wow, another Friday already! It's fabulous Friday in the Beehive dorm and I'm fabulous because I took my focus off of the number of minutes I was exercising and put it back on the number of calories I am burning. Hoping that I will see some good results on weigh-in day on Monday. Funny how such a little change can really screw things up.
Had a great day off work today. A great walk this morning, took my virtual walking partners along with me. Thanks for joining me Kathy and Marla.
Went to my appointment and had a very bad reaction to the treatment, now I look like my face has been in a heavy round fight, but oh well, it will get better. It actually looks very funny, but no, I am not going to take pictures. It was interesting though to observe people reactions when they caught sight of me. They quickly would avert their eyes, yet you knew they were curious to know what had happened. So despite my appearance today, I am glad that it has occurred as it has allowed me to gain some insight into how people react to someone who is in someway disfigured. I know that I have been one of those people who doesn't want to stare or appear to have noticed the "disfigurement". Now I believe that having been on the other side of the coin, so to speak, my reactions , I hope will be different. I will smile and acknowledge them and let them know that they are a person not a disfigurement.
Very interesting day.
Garry took the afternoon off today and we spent the afternoon in the city wandering around a couple of stores and then we went out for supper at Boston Pizza. Seeing as I knew that I would be well within my calorie range, I had a Chipotle Chicken and bacon salad. Very tasty, but yes high in calories as salads go...630 calories. Even so, I have come in below my calorie range today.
Poor Shyra, has a summer cold and feels very stuffy and sniffly. She was very glad that it was Friday today also. At least she has a couple of days to get better before work again on Monday.
Booked our hotel room for the reunion we are going to in August. I'm already getting excited about going. I'm excited to show off the "new" me.
Well other than going to relax for the evening now, I'm going to check out the blogs and wish you all a wonderful evening too.
What are you Fabulous about today???

One has headed out the door now for the summer. Quin left today for up north and his fishing work. He was so excited to be going again. A true outdoors man that one! There is still 3 feet of ice on the lake, but they are headed in to camp anyway. Winter clothes and all!
Great day at work today, very busy, but accomplished lots. I love it when it's busy, not only does the day go faster, you feel like you are making headway.
Had to go in early and set up the committee room for an early meeting and then we spent some time trying to find out which breakers worked which emergency lights. We had noticed at our last fire evacuation that some of the lights had failed to come on when the power went off. Today we got most of them working again. Only 3 that wouldn't come on, so we assume that the batteries need to be changed in them. One more thing checked off my "to do" list.
Very "breezy" outside today...sun was shining, but boy was that wind every blowing. Call me crazy, but I love to stand outside, when the wind is blowing like that. It really gives you a new perspective on the power of Mother nature. (of course, I most likely wouldn't like it if it was a damage causing wind!)
I have tomorrow off from work. A couple of appointments to attend to, and hope to get my hair cut tomorrow...its to the stage of "beyond" help, so time to get something done with it.
Marla, I plan on going for a good walk, so first thing in the morning, plunk yourself down on your porch swing, close your eyes and enjoy the walk for the next 30 minutes. As I leave my front door, we walk down the driveway, down to the corner of the street, passing the junior highschool and on down past the athletic park. We'll be walking on sidewalk so you don't have to worry about gravel or anything. We'll crossover about 4 streets (they are far apart) until we spot the 7/11 on the left hand corner, we turn right and continue walking past a housing development. Cross over a couple of more streets and turn right again, making our way past the Senior highschool, which by this time might have some students beginning to arrive. We'll follow the sidewalk along the opposite side of the Athletic park and make our way back to our street, once again passing the junior high, with students arriving, pass the mailboxes and then up the drive way and we can sit and have a cup of tea. Hope you enjoy the walk! Kathy, if you want to join us that would be great.
Not much happening here tonight, Garry is still at work and the girls are doing their own thing.
My positives today.
A beautiful breezy day, just right for blowing any cobwebs away.
Quin has a great day for traveling and just knowing that he is happy to be heading up north.
Reading the blogs today, everyone is lifting Marla up in prayer and sending her hugs,
My SP teammates.
Getting our emergency lights at work figured out.
A busy day at work.
Getting and email from a good friend, filled with pictures of her new granddaughter...what a sweetheart...8lbs 11 oz!
Have a wonderful evening,

Seems like I am only getting a chance to blog every other day lately! Not sure why, but my day seems to run out before I've realized that I haven't done a blog. Sorry, I'll try to do better.
Great day today, nice warm sunshine weather, perfect for walking.
I had a long meeting this morning with an RCMP officer discussing our safety procedures and getting his recommendations on what we might need to implement. Came away from the meeting with some very useful information.
Had an unexpected visit from someone from our past. I haven't seen Art for almost 32 years and he dropped in to see Garry at his work and then came over to see me at my work. What a nice unexpected pleasure. He is a retired RCMP officer and the funny part is, Art was the rooky officer that had the "priviledge" of giving me my driver's test when I turned 16. We lived in a small isolated community up north and only had 16 miles of road. Art's comment to me at the end of my driver's test was " aw heck, you might as well have a license, you can only get better!" Gee, thanks sir! I'm proud to say he has been right.
I started my day off at work with very little work and was wondering whether I would ask for the rest of the week off rather than sitting there bored....should have left well enough alone...now I'm smoking busy. A huge batch of orders came down while I was in my meeting, so I will be working tomorrow anyway! I had already booked Friday off as I has some appointments to attend. At least I know that I have lots to do next week. (I hate not being busy!)
Well it's walking Wednesday and I need to get some more walking in. (Marla, I'm doing double time for the both of us...I know you'd like to really be doing it yourself, but close your eyes and visualize our walk, maybe it will confuse your body as your mind visualizes you walking and it will think you are and burn those calories!)
