Family Time

Sunday, March 04, 2012

I'm tired this morning due in part to a late night of getting to bed. I needed to get up early though, otherwise I will have a difficult time of going to sleep early tonight...tomorrow's work day starts very early so need to be up.

We had a great day yesterday. Made our Costco run and then came home and made home made pizza's as everyone was coming over for supper. Such a simple way of feeding a houseful.
Although I put on lots of steps during the day, I didn't manage to finish to my goal by bedtime. Not bad though, I did at least get over 8000 steps, so 4 miles worth regardless. There were probably more than the steps I actually counted as I gave up counting once company came and I wasn't moving around as much.

We had a great evening of fun with everyone. Quin brought his puppy with him too which was lots of fun. If I can figure out how to upload pictures from my phone to the computer, I will share some.

My positives:

Tired, but a good tired.
I can hear the birds chirping away outside, so looks like we are going to have a lovely day!
Blessed with wonderful children and a hubby.
Got to see Afton last night.
Blessed with a new day of life to be creative in.

Have a great and wonderful day,
Hugs
Wanda

4 miles is great Wanda as that is what I average too I guess on most days. I finally made it to Mattawa yesterday, LOL. Keep on treking. Glad you had a good time with family. Have a great serene Sunday!

Weekend time.

Saturday, March 03, 2012

After a stressful week on many levels, it is now my time for relaxing. Even though I know not to stress the small stuff and to leave the big stuff to the Lord to resolve, there is still the little part of me that hangs on to the stress. I'm learning though.

I'm happy to say that it now appears that the girls living situation is on the road to allowing them to purchase where they will be living. That alone, comes with it's own set of stress's, but we will deal with one thing at a time and soon we will be able to look behind us and say Woo Hoo, it's all okay now.

We have been blessed with finding an insurance company that will give us insurance on our home. Our previous insurance company notified us last month that they chose not to renew our policy because we had had a claim! Excuse me, but isn't that why we pay for insurance? They informed us that they would be happy to keep our vehicle insurance though. Yes, I'm sure they would....we have never had to claim against it! Needless to say, we had a month to find new coverage. We have been blessed as the new company. Not only did they figure out we were paying too much for the same coverage on our vehicle, but because they deal with my hubby's company on a corporate level and are wanting to expand more into the personal coverage side of things, waived their commissions costs on the package and our insurance for both our home (same coverage) and our vehicle (same coverage) is costing us less that we had been paying. Thank you Lord!

This evening we will have a full house as the kids and their friends are coming over for an evening of fun. I need to make a Costco run this morning to stock up on veggies and some snacks for the young people.

My positives:
This has been a week of many blessings.
It's the weekend and I am letting go of anything that is not filling me with positive energy.
I have been ok'd for some time off at work at the end of April and into May, also for an extended May long weekend. Yay, garden time!
We have insurance once again (and for less)
Blessed with wonderful children and a hubby.
Blessed with the fact that our children (even at their grown up adult ages) and their friends consider our place a great place to gather and have fun together. Wow, how many parents are so blessed.
Blessed with a new day.

Have a great and wonderful day,
Hugs,
Wanda

Woo hoo on finding an insurance company and having to pay less, those are the things that make us smile and feel good. We had a similar experience but with our car insurance when Clenton had his accident in "97", they didn't cancel they just raised the amount we had to pay so high that there was no way we could afford it, so we shopped around and found a better, more affordable insurance. It never hurts to look around for a better deal. Enjoy your evening with your family and their friends.

Hugs,
Shirl

Just know that when you feel you are "stressed," it is GOD's way of seeing if you can handle the small stuff so he can BLESS you. Don't let anyone/anybody -- BLOCK YOUR BLESSING! Smile, don't complain, just walk it through.... "as GOD hates a complainer." GO and get your BLESSING!!! emoticon

March 02

Friday, March 02, 2012

Thank you to everyone who has been offering prayers up on behalf of our girls and their living accommodations. They have now been given tentative mortgage approval for the two of them to purchase the condo they have been renting for the past couple of years. Subject to getting the last years minutes from the condo board and Mom and Dad helping out with some monies for down payment. We have been blessed and are happy to lend a helping hand. The girls will pay us back when they sell in the future. So basically, we are just putting savings into a different institution! We are so excited for this opportunity for the girls.

My positives:
Being able to help the girls in their goal to become home owners.
The knowledge of how the Lord has blessed us in the past 10 years.
Knowing that once again we have been able to demonstrate to our children that family supports each other the best way they can and that family always works together for the betterment of the family.
How proud we are that all of our children have taken the step towards home ownership. The girls together and Quin with a good friend. They have all made sacrifices and found ways to make it work.
Family night this Saturday night at our house. All the kids and their friends are descending upon our home. Always a good time with the young people.
A confirmation that when you give "impossible" situations over to the Lord, some how the best solution is laid before you in the right timing.

Have a great day....it's FRIDAY!

hugs,
Wanda

I love paydays!

Thursday, March 01, 2012

Paydays are such a reward for having worked outside the home, now if I could only figure out a way to get paid for working inside the home *grin*.
It is so nice to sit down at the computer and get all the current bills paid in full. Such a feeling of freedom, at least until the next round of bills come in. I am fortunate...I get paid every two weeks, so paying bills is so much easier.

Welcome to March. My goals for this month are to keep on "marching" along on my virtual walk and to hopefully be able to do more of that walking outdoors as we head into the spring weather.

My positives:
I successfully met my goals for the month of February. I have increased my steps so that I am now walking over 10,000 steps a day. Woo Hoo.
I have crossed over into the province of Saskatchewan now on my virtual walk and have covered over 200 miles.
I have my March challenges set up.
Although the scales are not showing big changes, my clothes are and I'm feeling better once again.
I have been granted a new day of life to continue to work towards my goals.

Have a great and wonderful day,
Hugs,
Wanda

Marching through the month of March, that's a good goal. Haven't heard from the trainer yet, will go over tomorrow and see what's going on. Have a good evening.

I am renewed...

Wednesday, February 29, 2012

Thank you for the supportive and encouraging comments on my blog yesterday. I really appreciate them and they have given me renewal. The fog has lifted.

I forgot my book at work yesterday that has all the tracking of my steps during the work day in it. I had a pretty good idea of the number so that I could continue when I got home. I erred on the side of less rather than more and I made sure that I really went over my goal to ensure that I reached my goal. I will see how accurate I was when I get in to work this morning and make any necessary adjustments to my calculations when I get back home today.

It's hump day and pay day today! Woo Hoo...thank you for leap year...3 paydays in this short little month of February. Now I can come home tonight and get on the computer and pay all the bills. Love that feeling of having all the bills paid!

My positives:
A great information session yesterday with our new work benefits plan. Answers to questions, and now I have more questions *grin*
Teammates that give such wonderful support and encouragement.
I am on the other side of my funk.
Life is good...sometimes you just have to do a bit of dusting to the picture to see it clearly.
Friends, family and spiritual guidance.

Have an wonderful day,
Hugs,
Wanda

Glad today is a better day with a better outlook for you. You are hardly ever in a funk, and we all have those days from time to time, but the great thing is we have this wonderful place to come and share our thoughts and feelings and not get put down for them. We have some wonderful, encouraging and supportive team mates. Have fun paying those bills and getting in those steps.

Hugs,
Shirl
