I was so tempted...

Monday, February 06, 2012

Yesterday I was so tempted to just do nothing all day, no exercise, no exerting myself in any way. Then guilt set in and the knowledge that my steps for the day would be recorded for the world to see! Interesting how a little accountability can motive me! I got up and did my exercises and made sure that I got my steps in for the day. (9244) As long as I make it over the 9000 mark, I feel like I have made an effort.

It is back to work today and a busy week ahead of me. Not complaining though. I have a job that pays me well, I have work I enjoy doing and lots to keep me busy. Nothing like a pay check to keep you going!

My positives:
Almonds and carrots for my mid day snack.
A relaxing weekend filled with lots of steps.
A busy week ahead, time will go past quickly and soon it will be the weekend again *grin*
No snow to shovel.
My family.
Making wise choices about my nutrition and exercise.

Have a great and wonderful day.
Hugs,
Wanda

Sounds like you had a good weekend. I have to agree with Lexie and Bre it's ok to take a day off once in a while, but it's your body and you have to do what you feel is right, you are doing such an awesome job with your nutrition and exercise. Hope your Monday is a good one.

Hugs,
Shirl

I think it's really great that you are using the public eye as a motivator - just know we'd totally support you taking a day to lounge about as well. Whatever works! Have a great week!

Do remember that it is good to slot the occasional rest day into your schedule. I am terrible for throwing myself a guilt trip when I take a rest day, but it is good for us to take a break, and I have to keep reminding myself of that. :-)
Enjoy your day!

A great day for "stepping"

Sunday, February 05, 2012

I ended up with a super great day of getting steps in yesterday. My girls called and invited me to accompany them on a house hunting mission. We eventually roped Garry into coming with us too and spent the greater part of the day going from one place to another getting information and looking at pros and cons. Not decisions have been made as yet, but we are trusting that the Law of Attraction is at work and all things will work out. Through all the walking that I did yesterday, I surpassed my goal with 10121 steps! Woo Hoo.

My positives:

This has been a great week of "stepping"
Family time yesterday.
My fridge and freezer are stocked once again after our Costco run.
Laundry is all done and house is tidied.
Today will be a nice day for just doing whatever comes our way.
Blessed with another day of life and choosing to make it a great one.

Have a wonderful day,
Hugs,
Wanda

WOOHOO Wanda. You are doing so good. I brought my step counter with me so I can have an idea how many steps I do at least around the track and will write it down in a little booklet so that I can input them when I get back. Don't want you to wait too long for me in Cass Lake, MN. We do have to come back home in 2013 :)

I did it!

Saturday, February 04, 2012

I did it! I met my challenge from "For Sure" Friday. I got 9576 in steps in. Okay, so that might not seem like a big deal to many, but for someone who sits at a desk all day long, that is a great accomplishment! Over the past month I have increased my daily steps from just over 6000 steps a day to finally yesterday I am up to 9500 steps a day.

Having the virtual walk challenge has really given me the motivation to get myself moving once again. My word for this year has also helped me. "Determination". Every time I think about just relaxing, I hear that little word in my head and I see my chart of steps and I know that I either have reached my goal for the day or I still have work to do. Thank you Virtual walking buddies for joining me in this endeavor.

My positives:
Its the weekend and I am on my own schedule now.
I have had a successful week of walking.
The weather is still beautiful. We are supposed to be heading into some more normal temperatures over the next week, but still sunny skies.
A nice chat with both my girls yesterday evening.
Garry has today off work also, so we will have some time together.
Being blessed with another day of life.

Have a great and wonderful Saturday. Smile, laugh and enjoy being alive.

Hugs,
Wanda

WOOHOO awesome Wanda. You did some steps for me because I didn't get any in because I was at the spa all day. I promise to get lots on the ship though :)

Someone needs to invent a portable desk that has shoulder straps so you can wear it and walk while you work! LOL

We have sun today, glad to see the clouds gone, there is no sign of snow in our forecast, they say maybe a snow shower by Friday. Not having winter like we usually do is making me nervous as I am afraid if it does decide to come to MI it won't be pretty, lol. Good job on your steps, keep hoofing it. Enjoy the weekend.

Shirl

6 more weeks of winter in our part of the world!

Friday, February 03, 2012

Apparently living where we live, the ground hog predicts six more weeks of winter. If it's anything like the past weeks...I'm okay with it *grin* This is the best winter yet.

I met Thirsty Thursday's challenge and am going to try to repeat it today. Yesterday was a long day at work. I ended up working 2.5 hours overtime, pretty tired by the time I finally got home. I was in bed by 7:30pm. It's Friday, thank goodness today.

Nothing major planned for the weekend other than catching up on laundry and other usual household chores. Might try and get to Costco for a look see, but other than that no plans.

My positives:
I'm on track.
I'm back to tracking more closely my nutrition and water. I've found that I'm under and need to increase in both areas a bit. (no that is not a good thing, as the body then goes into storing mode!)
Even with the overtime at work yesterday, I managed to get in all my steps plus.
It's Mauri's birthday today (stop by and wish her Happy Birthday)
My seed catalogues are beginning to arrive...woo hoo.
I'm alive...now that is worth shouting about.

Have a great and wonderful day,
Hugs,
Wanda

I am glad I went back to tracking my food and water intake, it does help. Good job on getting in your steps with even working the overtime. Sometimes it's nice to have a weekend without plans and you just go with the flow. I hope to get a walk in with Margaret tomorrow afternoon. Enjoy your weekend.

Hugs,
Shirl

Will he or won't he???

Thursday, February 02, 2012

It's Ground Hog Day...will he see his shadow or won't he? It's supposed to be sunny with overcast periods today, so I guess that depends on when he comes out of his hiddy hole! I find it interesting that people put so much into a ground hogs prediction of whether or not we will have 6 more weeks of winter. Even the weather forecasters are not able to get it right and they have technology on their side!

Regardless, it's a good day to be alive. It's almost the weekend and I'm looking so forward to it.
I got my steps in yesterday with having to walk home from work as my ride was unavailable. It's just shy of 2 miles. Yay, I met my personal goal for steps and didn't have to do any extra exercise once I was home. I took the evening off and relaxed.

My positives:
I'm alive and doing well.
I am staying on track and being accountable.
I only fell one glass short of my 8 glasses of water yesterday.
I got Feb. challenge posted.
Heard from our Nancy Jane.
Counting my blessings...they really add up on a daily basis.

Have a great and wonderful day,
Hugs,
Wanda

Wanda, yay on getting those steps in.

Gees...cannot understand why we wouldn't put faith in the groundhogs of the world...3 of them predicted differing scenarios...though if it is 6 more weeks of THIS winter, I will take them.

Our MI groundhog did not see her shadow, but how can we have 6 more weeks of winter, when winter seems to have forgot to show up, lol. It's been mild all week here and is suppose to remain that way up through the middle of next week. Good job on those steps and how nice you didn't have to do anymore when you got home. Haven't heard how things went for Jim this morning. Margaret and I had a nice walk today and after our walk we had a Greek yogurt with a honey, date and fig swirl, it was very, very good. Well my supper dishes are calling to me from the kitchen, so guess I'd better go get em done. Have a nice evening.

Hugs,
Shirl

Winter proper is just about to hit us with a wallop here, so regardless of what that little rodent sees, I think we have a way to go. LOL
