Amazing what a good night's sleep will do for the body. I crawled into bed very early last night and think I might have even been asleep before my head hit the pillow. I did remember to reset the clock before laying down, but I never thought about needing to reset the alarm on the clock, so it went off at midnight! Not so bad, at least I was able to fall right back to sleep again.
On the plus side, being so tired, meant that I actually got up and moved around a fair bit at work yesterday just to keep myself awake and alert. That meant that I had managed to put in about 75% of my steps before I even got home from work. By the time I headed for bed, I had made my goal plus some. Yay Me!
I have another busy day ahead of me at work today. We are in the final days of needing to get the 35th Anniversary Memory book completed. This morning will be spent getting the bits and pieces all pulled together and pass them off to the person that is doing the layout. Hopefully it will be off to the printers by Monday of next week.

I'm doing really well for staying on track and getting my steps in each day plus some.
It's almost the weekend and I can finally get my house all back in order. Haven't been able to organize the family room yet as Garry needs to get the new baseboards on.
Garry's birthday this Saturday and then we are done with major celebrations for a few weeks, at least until the 22nd of Feb!
Life...what a blessing each day is.

Oh boy, I'm dragging butt today. I knew I wouldn't get as much sleep as I need last night because of going to the dinner theater with friends, but I'm not sure if I even came close to any restful sleep at all. By the time we got home it was just after 11pm and I have to be up at 4:30am. We don't as a rule go out on work nights, but last night was a special occasion. Unfortunately, I must have been overtired or something as I had a very hard time even falling asleep. The last time I looked at the clock it said 12:35. Must have eventually dozed off, only to be woken at 3:15am with the fire alarm going off. We had a power outage and when that occurs our fire gives some lovely nice sharp and deafening beeps to let us know there is a problem. Our fire alarm is hard wired into the house's electrical. Of course that also meant that my clock lost power and I once again was reminded that I really need to get a clock that has power backup! Needless to say, there was no sleep after that as I wasn't likely to wake up for work with being so tired. Besides when the power came back on about 20 minutes later...so did the fire alarm! Thankfully it shut off just as quickly. The last time we had a power outage that lasted 3 hours, the alarm rang for 5 minutes before shutting off. There is no way to reset it to make it stop. Got to love the genius who installed it!
I seriously considered calling in to work this morning and saying I wouldn't be there, but then the responsible side of me said "it's your own fault, suck it up". Guess which side won?
A great evening out with friends, thoroughly enjoyed the dinner theater. The performance was the "Wedding Singer" and they did a wonderful job.
Power outage was of short duration.
I managed to get all my steps in yesterday considering that we were going out for the evening and going to be sitting.
I have a busy day at work today, so the day should go by quickly as well as I won't have any lulls to make me aware of being tired.
I get to come home today after work and go to bed!

This week, I decided to challenge myself to a minimum of 8500 steps. I'm hoping that by doing this, I will make it to Lloydminster on my virtual walk. I like having little goals to strive for as well as my big goals. I'm have had to be creative about how I get those "extra" steps in during my work day, seeing as I work at a computer. One of the ways that is working is that I have told myself that if I get up from my desk, I can't sit back down until I have at least 200 steps completed. I have taken some interesting routes to get to where I am going! The same holds at home.
Tonight Garry and I are going to a dinner theater with friends. Not something we usually do on a week night, but it should be fun. Garry is battling a cold right now and isn't feeling too chipper but hopefully will be ok for tonight.
I'm meeting my challenge that I've set for myself this week. In fact, I'm beating it.
A nice evening out this evening.
I'm blessed with family, friends and love.
I have been given another day to live and be the best I can be.

The weekend is over and it's time to head back to work. Not sure where the weekend went so fast, but it did!
A busy weekend. We celebrated Kaeli's birthday. It was so nice, as all three siblings were home and we were able to get together. Quin and Garry worked together to get the new flooring completely installed in the family room. It looks great. Even Garry, who loves carpet, says it was a great idea to replace it. YAY!
Quin got called back to work yesterday also. He has been off for a few days. Now he will be out of town for a while. The great thing about SKYPE is that we can keep in touch very inexpensively.
I had a great day of getting in my steps yesterday. My goal for this week is to bump up the number of steps to a minimum of 8500 steps a day. Thought I would attempt it for a week and see how it goes. I need to keep challenging myself.
The temperatures are once more on the nice side! It's only minus 5 this morning! Yesterday we actually had some melting going on during the day time. Will need to watch the roads though this morning.
A great weekend of family time.
New floor all installed in the family room. Now we just have the baseboards to redo and move the furniture back in.
We have been invited out tomorrow evening to dinner theater with the friends we went to Vegas with last year. It's Garry's birthday this coming Saturday, so we are going to celebrate it early with John and Donna. We don't usually go out on a week night because of my crazy work hours, but I'lll grab a nap after work tomorrow.
It was great to see Garry and Quin work so well together this past weekend. They are really making a great adult relationship together.

Garry and Quin started laying the new flooring in the family room yesterday, they should have it finished today. It is looking so nice. So much easier to keep it clean now that I can actually wash it. Hate carpet, even when you vacuum it and have it cleaned it still never feels clean. It traps all the dust and allergens.
We had a great evening last night with the kids celebrating Kaeli's birthday. The Greek restaurant was very nice, but extremely loud. It was hard to hear conversation around the table. We didn't linger too long once our meal was done, instead headed back to the house and continue visiting and having at home. A very late night for me, almost too late, as I had difficulty falling asleep from being over tired. (Plus believe it or not....I was stressed about not having gotten in my usual number of steps in the day!)
I lost track so often yesterday counting my steps with all the back and forth, working around the guys, talking and walking in and out of the restaurant etc. The steps I did track though are accurate, just not sure how many I missed. Oh well, at least I made it over the 6000 minimum.
Weighed in this morning and woo hoo...1.3 pounds eliminated this week.
A fun time with the kids last night.
My new floor in the family room is almost done.
Women's Wellness conference information is now available and I get to plan the sessions I would like to take in March. Both girls are going to come this year too, as well as Afton and her Mom are thinking about it. Should be a really fun time.
I've been doing really well with staying on track this week.
Life...it is good.
