# Working on my 2012 goals

### Thursday, December 29, 2011

I got my 2012 Word and have it posted...DETERMINED. Yes, I am determined to make healthy and wise choices this year in all areas of my life. I am determined to set my goals and work towards them faithfully. I am determined to be successful meeting those goals. I am determined to be as positive a person as I can be, while still learning and growing. I am determined to honor myself as I honor others. I AM DETERMINED.

I have posted the January 2012 challenges and I am working on meeting them. Setting my goals for the year as well as shorter term goals.

I had thought of virtual walking to have tea with Shirl...but have to see if I can do it! Figured out the distance (2933 km=1822.481 miles). Using the formula of just over 2000 steps/mile or 10,000 steps about 5miles, I would need to walk 8.0356 miles per day for a year! That would mean just over 16,000 steps per day.
Shirl...want to meet half way???? Anyone else what to meet up???

My Positives:
Enjoying being at home and not at work.
Very pleased about having my Wii set back up and having the energy and time to spend using it. An hour and 20 minutes yesterday!
Meeting Garry for lunch today.
I've been able to send goodies with Garry to work so that they are not in the house.
Blessed with health and life.

Have a wonderful day,
Hugs,
Wanda

WANDAH3 12/29/2011 5:13PM Patti..Snuglbunie and I are both in Canada but on different ends of the country.Shirl and Mauri...maybe you two can meet in the middle between you and Estelle and I can meet. I don't know if I am thinking about the Virtual walk correctly or not, but this is what has been going through my mind. Locate a spot to walk to, calculate the distance and then if you have a pedometer use the number of steps you walk in a day to cover the distance. I plan on getting a new battery for pedometer (you can pick one up a pedometer very inexpensively), using the count from that and the number of steps I do doing free step on my Wii each day as my daily total. Does this make sense to everyone, or am I on the wrong track????Estelle...no I don't have a tread mill...would like one though! They are too expensive for me right now.Comment edited on: 12/29/2011 5:14:41 PM Report Inappropriate Comment
PEPPYPATTI 12/29/2011 4:10PM It is good that you have your goals so clearly defined! I usually walk about 11,000 steps a day. Where are you at? I am in TN Report Inappropriate Comment
YOYONOMORE1 12/29/2011 1:55PM Yep, it's that time of year to reevaluate and establish goals for 2012. I have no way of tracking my steps and I don't understand how a virtual walk happens, I'll have to see if I can find an inexpensive step tracker. Mauri wouldn't have as far to walk as you as she's a tad bit closer, not sure where Estelle is located at. I'll post the daily challenge for Sunday, Jan. 1, get the New Year started. I am so glad Mauri is joining us once again with the daily challenges. I have my words but haven't posted them yet, maybe I should go and do that. Enjoy your day.Hugs,Shirl Report Inappropriate Comment

SNUGLBUNIE 12/29/2011 10:28AM You have a great goals and I love your words. I could join. I usually walk about 5000 steps per day between coming to work, at work, going back home and my exercise in the evening :) Not sure though how many steps/miles I would need to join you, LOL. # Found my Wii and it's all set up and ready for me.

### Wednesday, December 28, 2011

We finally found our Wii and got it all set up again. It was packed away with all the rest of the stuff from when our basement flooded. I couldn't find it. YAY...now it's up and running and I can finally start using it again.

I tried out Shyra's new Zumba fit and thought I had killed myself! Wow, that is a work out! Think I will ease my way back into things with the Fitness plus one first. I am determined to make exercise a part of my regular day. I need to add something to stair climbing and walking.

Kaeli and I got Pauline delivered to Brian safely yesterday. It was sad to see her go, but nice to know that she had a good time while she was here.

My positives:
Beautiful driving conditions yesterday.
Finding the Wii and getting it set back up and using it.
I still have some holiday time left.
Finally a good sleep last night.
Time with Kaeli yesterday. We stopped at IKEA on our way home and she was able to pick up some things she needed. I remembered to pick up a new picture frame.
Time.

Have a wonderful day, enjoy being alive.

Hugs,
Wanda

MAURIZIA 12/28/2011 10:45AM Wanda, where did you find the Wii? Were my WATP DVDs there, too? Just wondering because I don't remember where they are! :)Does the adrenaline from finding a dead mouse count as exercise? My morning wakeup call from Katie...Crying because it had stopped moving. Silly kitty.Glad you found the Wii and it is all set up...I'm thinking the fact that I've done 3 round trips up & down the stairs at my apartment before 8 AM should count as cardio...especially if you see these stairs! Each step is higher than it is front to back...looks like they were put in upside down...which may be the case since the house was built in the 1700s! :)Have a great day!! Yea! I'm still on holiday too!Hugs and love. Report Inappropriate Comment

Garry's Mom is heading to Red Deer today via the Wanda express! Kaeli has today off work also, so she is coming with me as we take Pauline to meet up with Garry's brother, who will see that she gets back home.
We have enjoyed having her here to visit and are already looking forward to the next time she comes.

Very grateful that our winter has been very mild...we lost power in our area of the city yesterday for about 2.5 hours. Happy to say that my oil lamp is still working well and the candles were readily available. It was very dark by the time they got the power back on and just beginning to get cool in the house. We have a fireplace, but it really doesn't produce much in the way of heat.

My positives:
Kaeli having the day off work and able to travel with me for company on the way home.
Having been able to have Garry's Mom here for Christmas.
The power outage was restored fairly quickly.
A chance to chat with Quin via SKYPE yesterday. Although we kept getting disconnected, probably due to the power issue yesterday that was on the verge of going out.
Everything is up and running smoothly once again.
Be so blessed.

Have a wonderful day.
Hugs,
Wanda

# Happy Boxing Day

### Monday, December 26, 2011

Christmas has come and gone and all the hoopla is taking a rest!

Today will be a day of just enjoying all the blessings that come our way.
Garry is taking his mom in to the city to see a friend of hers later this afternoon. I am hoping to get some time to try out the girls new Zumba fitness Wii program. Looking forward to having some "me " time.

My MIL, Pauline. It has been so wonderful to have her with us. Kaeli and I are going to drive her tomorrow to meet up with Garry's brother, who will see that she gets back home.

Shyra and her boyfriend Kyle...it was so nice to have Kyle join us for Christmas celebrations.

We all got moustaches in our stockings...now we can be just like Garry!

I just realized that we didn't take a family picture...probably because Quin wasn't home to be in it!

Have a wonderful and blessed day.
Hugs,
Wanda

# Merry Christmas Eve!

### Saturday, December 24, 2011

Garry and his Mom arrived safe and sound yesterday afternoon. All is well in my world now.

Today is our big day of celebrating, we celebrate with our big meal on Christmas eve. We follow the traditional Ukrainian meal, with a few of our own traditions that developed over the years.

My positives:

Having my family around me. Although we will miss having Quin home for Christmas this year we will celebrate with him via the phone and then when he is able to get home.
All Kaeli's help with the preparations for dinner this evening.
Having Garry's Mom with us.
Being able to freely celebrate our faith.

Have a wonderful and safe holiday.

Hugs,
Wanda
