Two weeks left of 2011!

Thursday, December 15, 2011

It is amazing how quickly this year has gone by. 2012 is just around the corner. This should be an interesting year with all the predictions that are out there floating around. The Mayan calendar comes to an end Dec 21, 2012 and according to some that signals the end. But according to the Bible...no man shall no the last day. As for me, I don't believe that the Mayan Calendar means the end of the world, I do on the other hand believe that it means the end of a way of life and the opportunity for a shift to occur that brings in a new way of living. Will this be a catastrophic event, who knows, I think it will be a date that we can look back on and pin point as a date that a shift occurred. This will be an interesting year. I choose to believe that mankind will take the opportunity to live and grow into a more caring, loving society.

My positives:
It is our staff Christmas lunch today. Our department will head out for a lunch to one of our local cafes and enjoy an hour of socializing.
I get my shaggy head of hair tended to this afternoon.
Had a text message from Quin last night. Although the news that it doesn't look like he will be home for Christmas is not happy, I'm was pleased to hear from him and know that he hopes to be home for New Year's.
Nice text conversation with Quin's girlfriend last night too. Hoping to get together with her on Monday for tea.
Got some more Christmas things completed.
Although the temperatures are minus 10 this morning, we are supposed to reach a high of zero during the day and NO SNOW! Although I do like a white Christmas...I'm very willing to experience a brown one *grin*
Blessed with life and love.

Have a wonderful day, remember to take time to deep breathe.

Wanda, I agree that I think we will see a shift in how we exist - hopefully with more compassion, kindness and gratitude.

We are near 60*F today...and rain...tho' I did hear the "s" word in the forecast. Hoping not.

Hugs and love.

The older we get, the faster time flies, it seems to me. :-)
And I see I'm not the only one who thinks so. :-)

It is going to be interesting to see what, if anything happens next year on the winter solstice. Some kind of shift quite possibly, but the end of the world? Highly unlikely. :-)

I've already started making plans for November 2013, so I hope all goes well. :-)
Have a great rest of the week.

It's Happy Hump day once again!

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

For those of us that are still in the work world, hump day is a great day. We have made it half way through our work week and now we are on the downhill slide into a weekend.

I need to figure out how to transfer my pictures from my phone to my computer. My phone actually takes better pictures than my camera, but I am at a loss on how to get them transferred. I must talk to the "younger" generation and see if they can help me out.

I'm hoping that Kaeli's parcel for Shavon arrives today, so that I can get her parcel shipped. I'm waiting to include Kaeli's so that it is one bigger box and one shipment. As it is I need to get it shipped this weekend if it is going to arrive in time for Christmas.

I've got my "to do" list already ready and I'm ready to tackle it. I have even been giving some thought to next year's goals!

My positives:

Life...what a blessing to wake up in the morning knowing that you have a whole new day ahead of you.
Family, friends and God in my life.
Blessed that Garry's Mom is coming to spend some of the holiday time with us, Garry's brother is going to take her back home, so we don't have to make the trip twice.
A wonderfully mild winter to date. No snow in the forecast, which means the roads should be good for travel.

Have a great day, remember that you are important also and have value...take care of yourself.

That is nice that Garry's mom will be spending time with you at the holiday and that your BIL will be taking her back home. I love snow at Christmas time but when it comes to having to travel would rather have dry roads and no snow, but I don't like green Christmases. Yep, when I was working I always looked forward to hump day, lol. Have a great one.

Woohoo for hump day as we are the downward slope. The only thing that could be better is that it would also be payday, LOL. Have a great day Wanda!

December 13

Tuesday, December 13, 2011

Not much to say this morning. I'm a little bleary eyed and could have easily rolled over and attempted going back to sleep this morning. My poor kitty has a cold. She kept sneezing all night long. She must be cold too as I was looking for her last evening and found her curled up on the register, something she has never done to my knowledge before. Then during the night she curled up tight against me. Poor little girl. She didn't eat her supper last night and didn't want much more than a sniff at her breakfast. I will have to keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't get any sicker.

I'm beginning to feel a bit stressed about getting all my Christmas things done. I will lose two days with traveling to get Garry's Mom and getting back home. I really have only this weekend to accomplish a lot of things. Siggghhh. Each year, I live in hope that I will not find myself in this position, each year I make it through and no one has been forgotten, so why do I allow myself to feel overwhelmed????

My positives:
No snow! I am keeping that thought in my mind as I have to travel next week. I like driving on clear roads!
I WILL get things done that must be done.
Only 8 more working days for me and then holiday time!
I am blessed with all that I need.

Have a wonderful day,

Hope kitty is okay. My little Gracie was sneezing about 3 weeks ago but it seems to have past.

I'm getting antsy about baking...Only have this Sunday to do it all since I no longer can take the week before Christmas as vacation. Yikes!!!

We had a great time...

Sunday, December 11, 2011

We had a great time at my staff party last night. We didn't stay until the end, but we did have a fun time. The Ugly Sweater evening was a fun time and it was interesting to see how creative some people were. The "cheap" Santa gift exchange created lots of laughs and several gifts went round and round. No one was allowed to open the gift until the end, so the stealing of gifts was very comical as you had no idea what was being stolen. Lots of laughs and when we left we headed back to our place with Kyle and Shyra and spent another couple of hours enjoying ourselves at home, minus the hot ugly sweaters!

My Positives:
My son's birthday today...sure brings back lots of wonderful memories. Unfortunately he is working out of town and we don't get to celebrate it together (1st time every in 28 years), but we will connect on the phone later today.
One party down, more to go as well as Shyra's birthday next Sunday.
Blessed with fantastic weather, road conditions for driving are great. Hope it holds out for when we need to drive to Saskatchewan and back.
Got some gifts wrapped and under the tree. Some that have to be sent yet are almost ready. Just waiting for one gift to arrive so that I can get them on their way.
How blessed we are to be able to exchange gifts whether purchased or homemade. Personally, finding ways to be creative and make my own is always way more fun and makes Christmas for me.
How blessed we are with life, health, and love.

Have a great and wonderful day,

Wanda, one of our US morning shows did a segment on ugly holiday sweaters! How is that for karma? :)

Hugs & love.

Take it one day at a time!
