A blessed and Happy Thanksgiving going out to all my American friends. May your day be filled with wonderful and grateful moments.
Normally my weekends are relatively free of schedules, this Saturday seems to be a major exception. It started out with only one appointment at 9am, then came a second appointment with someone wanting to look at our truck (which Garry has up for sale), and now we have added in a memorial service for our good friends Mother who passed away suddenly. The first appt. is not a problem, but then everything hinges on the whether or not the truck sells! As we only have one vehicle at this time...we could find ourselves in a bit of a pickle! Garry will be spending today seeing about the possibility of another vehicle that will be less expensive than the truck. Life is interesting, and I'm just not going to worry about this situation...instead, I will trust that the universe knows what we need and bring it forward.
The bills that have arrived so far this month are all paid.
One month of winter is almost done!
I am enjoying the internet more than ever before...I've branched out and actually done some Christmas purchases online and have had much success. I am always very cautious though of where I make any purchases. I then go and clear my "cookies" to help avoid all the junk emails.
I am blessed.
Have a great and wonderful day. Remember to be grateful for all that you have (and all that you don't have!).
Not only is it mid way through my work week...it's payday today too! I love the satisfaction on sitting down on payday and getting any bills that are in paid! Such a feeling of accomplishment...makes working have a purpose *grin*
Our temperatures soared to plus six yesterday and are sitting at only minus two this morning. Roads will be very slippery, but at least when I head for work, there is very little traffic. We are supposed to get some major wind storms blowing through. British Columbia had them yesterday and there was some damage left behind in it's wake...trusting that by the time it blows over the mountains that separate us, it will have lost some of its potential for damage.
Got three more boxes of Christmas stuff unpacked and placed. Bins are now stored in the basement.
One more Christmas gift done.
A busy day ahead at work again today. So much prefer the busy days...make the time at work go by fast.
It's a good day to be alive!
I'm moving right along with my Christmas projects and with being mindful of my eating and exercise. It is becoming routine once again to start my morning off with some gentle exercise, building up to climbing the stairs at work at least a couple of times a day and then doing some wind down exercises as I watch the evening news. I always feel so much better when I exercise my body...why do I slowly drift away from doing it!
Garry and I were invited out to share dinner with the girls last evening. No special occasion, just a chance to share some family time. It was lovely. We always have such a good time when we are together. Quin was supposed to come, but had to go to Red Deer during the day and wasn't going to make it back in time.
It's only -14 this morning...warming up!
Still no snow to shovel.
A great night's sleep last night. I think I could have continued sleeping rather than getting up for work this morning. But feeling much better with having had such a good sleep.
Payday tomorrow...yay bill paying time *grin*
An evening spent with the girls.
Family time, how blessed we are that our children enjoy spending time with us.
Family, friends and a life filled with blessings.
It's back to work after a nice weekend off. Temperatures are a bit more human out there this morning...it has warmed up to -19 with highs expected of -9 during the daylight hours. Much better than the temperatures we had all weekend.
Garry is hoping to go to Saskatchewan this coming weekend to have a visit with his Mom. It will all depend on what the road conditions are like and how tired he is.
Quin arrived home for a few days off and has generously offered to help his Dad install the hardwood in the family room. Unless he gets called back early, that will be a great help to getting the flooring done before Christmas.
I decorated the Christmas tree early this year. Usually we don't decorate inside the house until the end of November. With the new flooring in the basement, we were hauling things back down to the basement and figured why are we hauling all the Christmas decorations back down when we will just have to haul them back up again in a couple of weeks! Over the next few days, I will get the rest of the decorations out of their boxes that we hauled into the LR and put them on display. This way I am also not going up and down the stairs that Garry is attempting to reno.
Temperatures are warmer up....yay!
I didn't have any shoveling to do on the weekend, which meant not having to be outdoors in the cold.
Christmas tree is all decorated.
Garry is making great progress with the stairs. He's learning as he goes and doing a great job of it.
I have my shopping list all prepared for the ingredients that need to do some baking to send along with Garry to his Mom. Just need to get to the store in the next couple of days.
Although I didn't have the best sleep last night, I had a nice warm bed and cozy bed to spend those "waking" moments in.
A busy week at work ahead of me...I much prefer being busy than attempting to look busy!
Being mindful of what I am eating and attempting to make healthy choices is a way of life for me now. Love it.
It's cold outside! Last night we dipped even further than yesterday. This morning it is still -25 with wind chill of -37. Anyone what to join me in a walk outside????
(It's okay, I just wanted to know who the crazy people in my life are*grin*)
I strange thing about this Arctic cold front that has moved in...by Tuesday the weather forecast is calling for possible plus side temps! That never happens at this time of year.
Had a great day shopping with Kaeli. I didn't get much of what I wanted to get done, but on the plus side, we had a great time and Kaeli was able to get her stuff done. We did end up going together on Shy's up coming birthday present. We decided to get a beautiful piece of art work professionally framed. It should be ready in about two weeks, just in time for her birthday. It was a picture that Shy saw on Pinterest and we were able to order for her. When it arrived (as a poster) we were so impressed with the quality we figured it deserved to be properly displayed. We are pretty excited about it.
Kaeli was also able to find all the beads and supplies that she needed to recreate a bracelet for Shy for Christmas that Shy had fallen in love with on the internet.
I did manage to find some mini muffins baking tins and some pure peppermint extract at a great price. I need to make a start on my Christmas baking that I want to do for gifts.
Quin arrived home for a few days yesterday. It's great to have him around again, even if it is only for a few days.
Wonderful day with Kaeli shopping and sharing lunch.
Garry is making great headway with the stairs. They are going to look great when he is done.
Crazy cold temperatures....mean I get to stay in all day!
Blessed with another day of life.
