It's a white world outside this morning and it appears that it is going to be even whiter as the day progresses. It's really coming down out there! Winter has officially arrived!
We had such a great day yesterday. A perfect day for Remembrance Services and for putting up the Christmas lights. Garry will be so pleased with himself when he gets up this morning to knowing that he actually beat the cold and snow with getting his lights all in place yesterday.
Today, I am hoping to hit the Costco store and stock up on some supplies for baking and make -ahead meals. I discovered a great little idea on Pinterest the other day that I want to do up for Christmas. I need to purchase some half pint mason jars. You then line them with pastry crust, fill them with pie filling, put a pastry (vented) cover over the pie filling, seal them up and freeze them. Then when you want a little mini pie, you take out of the freezer and pop into the oven to bake for 55/60 minutes frozen, or 45 if thawed. You can cook them right in the jars. Love the idea and have some people on my Christmas list that this would be a great gift for! What a great gift idea.
Seriously...www.pinterest.com is my favorite go to site for all sorts of ideas for DIY projects. So many great and inexpensive ideas for stretching the budget. I highly recommend the site to everyone. ( Shirl...I know you have discovered it's many delights already *grin*).
All the Christmas lights are up and working...and before the snow started falling.
A lovely day yesterday to accomplish some last minute outdoor things.
As much as snow is not my favorite thing...it really does look pretty out there at the moment.
Pinterest.com.....what a blessing this site has been to me for finding creative ideas for gift giving as well as personal use.
It's the perfect day for making potato soup in the crock pot.
Blessed to have a nice warm home to live in, food on the table and comfy bed for sleeping in.
Have a wonderful day. As the cold and snow begins to fall, take some time to think of how you might be able to help those that are less fortunate than yourself.
