On the cool side in the house again this morning. The furnace wasn't kicking in during the night, which meant frosty getting up this morning. We at least finally figured out why it was happening. There is a panel on the front of the furnace that also acts as a connection point for the heat to kick in. When the temp drops the furnace senses that and kicks in, but for some reason it kicks in so hard that it pushes the connection (the panel) out of place and then it quits because the connection is lost. Not sure why it is doing that, but thank you Lord for the invention of duct tape! Now we can duct tape the panel in place and this shouldn't happen anymore. Yay for a warm house.
Had a lovely phone chat with my brother last night. They are in the middle of having their new modular home put in place on their acreage and are very excited about finally having a home that is liveable and before winter sets in with all the snow. I'm so happy for them, can't wait to make a trip to see them and their new home.
I'm reading a very thought provoking book called "My life, Deleted: a memoir" by Scott Bolzan. It's about Scott, who takes a fall, hits his head and suffers from severe amnesia, and how he puts his life back together with meaning. Makes you think about how you would cope if suddenly everything you knew was wiped out and you had to start over with a blank slate. Words with no meaning or relationship to you, people, earning a living , what things are...how would you help to explain concepts to someone that had no understanding. Very good book, very thought provoking. A book I would recommend. I must go in and add it to my Goodreads account.
Finally figured out why the furnace keeps shutting down. Yay for duct tape as a solution.
Thought provoking books to read that make me re-evaluate things.
Wonderful chat with my brother. So happy for them as they get their new home.
Found a new pair of pants on sale 50% off yesterday...woo hoo! also a great 3/4 length sleeve sweater(on sale). I need sweaters for work, but hate long sleeves as unless the cuffs are tight, they get in the way while I'm working on the computer all day.
An interesting week ahead at work...I have two workshops to attend, a meeting and also my (company supplied) seasonal flu shot. Somewhere in the mix I also have my usual work to get done.
How blessed our family is.
Have a wonderful day, saying thank you has the biggest impact on your day...try it!
