A beautiful day.....
Not only was it our anniversary today, we spent it with family and had a beautiful sunshining day.
Spent part of the afternoon sitting out on the back deck in the lovely warm sunshine. Feet propped up on a stool, eyes closed and just listening to the sound of the wind rustling through the trees. Sounds just like you are at the ocean with the waves coming in to shore....Ahhhhhh, one of my favorite sounds. A very mellow day just being.
Had a lovely meal tonight, a veggie burger and lots of steamed vegetables to go with it.
The rest of the evening will be spent not on the computer but with my husband and children.
'Til tomorrow,

Sounds so relaxing. I can't think of a better way to spend your anniversary than with family and your husband just taking it easy and listening to the leaves rustling in the wind.

What a great evening...

Saturday, May 03, 2008

We had a wonderful evening last night. Our children treated us to an evening at dinner theatre. We watched "Buddy Holly Birthday Bash". Two other couples joined us and we had such an enjoyable time listening to the music and watching the performance. To top it all off, we spent the night at FantasyLand Hotel. It is part of West Edmonton Mall and it meant we didn't have to drive home after the evening celebrations. A perfect anniversary celebration.
I was able to get up bright and early this morning and walk the entire mall, both levels, before any stores opened, it took 61 minutes to do the complete circuit. Then after the stores opened I walked at a mall walk pace due to so many people already out and about for another 70 minutes. Finally found a new bathing suit! My daughter kept telling me I needed to get one that fit!
A wonderful day was had. Sun has been shining today. Just a perfect day.

I'm reading a book right now that I recommend as a great read.
"Happier than God" by Neale Donald Walsch. He is also the author of the series "Conversations with God". If you get a chance see if your library has it and check it out, well worth reading.

Well, I must go and see what everyone else has been up to yesterday and today,
Have a wonderful evening,

Well, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY WANDA!!! I didn't know it was your anniversary. But it sounds like you celebrated in style. Wow and I'm impressed with all the walking you got in, that is terrific, good for you!!
I'm glad you had such a wonderful time and what a thoughtful gift from your children.
We had a beautiful day here also. The temp was in the 80's and there was a nice breeze. Took the kids to the park. Really good day for us too.
Well, have a great night, sleep tight and talk to you tomorrow. Hugs.

Wanda - Sure sounds like you really enjoyed yourselves last night. Good for you. Anniversary's only come once a year, might as well "do it up right"! I'm not much for mall walking... but when it's the only thing available, it's great! Especially cause it's indoors out of the weather. Glad you got some added steps in there!

I just finished Valerie Bertinelli's book. It was very good. Her biography... struggles with weight issues & ex hubby Eddie Van Halen. Pretty interesting to see how the jet set lives!

Enjoy your evening. Hopefully be seeing you around tomorrow! (((((Hugs))))) Marla

    It sounds wonderful!

And I'm glad you were able to spend a night in a hotel and not drive home overstimulated and overtired.

I'm envious, too! A new suit that fits! Way to go!

So glad you enjoyed your evening with your hubby and friends... That dinner show sounded like fun... We have one near us called Capone's... as in Al Capone the famous gangster and the servers are the entertainers as well... They kept calling Andy's dad "Godfather" lol ... So I can imagine the fun... But more so with the Buddy Holly Theme... Music! What Fun...
WTG on the mall walking too... You are so motivated!

Hope you have a wonder evening my friend... Thanks for your email as well... Thinking Positive! LOL ((HUGS))

Missed my blog yesterday....

Thursday, May 01, 2008

I missed doing my blog yesterday, but all is okay. I had sleep instead!
Rain has finally stopped today and wow, the difference in the color of the grass is great. Green grass is beginning to appear. Daffodiles and spring bulbs are starting to appear also.

I need to purchase a new battery for my pedometer, it died today, over use you think? LOL I'm surprised at how lost I have been today without being able to track my walking and calories used.
I definitely need a new battery before the weekend.

I have tomorrow off work, hooray...time to do some chores at home. Tomorrow evening my husband and I are going to a dinner theatre. Its musical making use of Buddy Holly's music. There are 2 other couples coming with us, should be a great time. We are going to spend the night in the city. The girls are giving us the treat as our anniversary present!

Today has been a wonderful day, I love coming home from work and logging on to SP to catch up with everyone else's day. It's my time to unwind from work and just enjoy. So thank you to those of you who blog....I'm sure its done just for my entertainment and pleasure LOL.
It sounds like a great day, glasses are 1/2 full, positiveness abounds, deep thoughts and caring prevalent.

Keep moving forward, counting your many blessings and sharing your thoughts and day.

Hey do a little dancing for me tonight... LOL

ENJOY!!!!!! And tell us all about it... I love music....

Marie mentioned thanks to you for the tips on earth-friendly solutions.... did I miss that? Where was it? I'm always interested in going green. Knowing me, I've read it on your blog & completely forgot I did! LOL I'm so senile it's not funny. (so don't laugh!) LOL
I missed blogging yesterday...just too tired after Pittsburgh.

Happy Anniversary!!! That was a nice gift from the girls.

You always have such wonderful ideas and give us support. Glad the rain stopped. I hope you are getting some sunshine. Oh and thanks for the tips on earth-friendly solutions. I shared that info with my neighbor and she was going to try it. She doesn't like all those chemicals. I always get the impression your glass in half full most of the time also.

A journey....

Tuesday, April 29, 2008

A journey......
Your day starts off with the fact that you opened your eyes and have a whole day before you to create what ever you want. Do you take the opportunity, or do you dredge up all the crap from by gone days and focus on how miserable you are?
Life is all about choices. You are always in control of how you react to what ever comes your way. You are the person steering your life course. Are you steering all over the place, jumping from one thing to the next and never taking the time to appreciate where you are going or where you have come from? Are you allowing "road rage" to consume you, or are you enjoying the trip? You choose how you react to the bumps along the way. Do you try to speed over them, hoping that the road will smooth out ahead, or do you ease your way over the bump? If you are speeding over, you are likely to have some damage done, easing over at least will minimize any damage and you will be more in control of how you land on the other side of those bumps. When you rush recklessly ahead, you miss all the beauty that surrounds you. You just plain miss opportunities. Besides, where exactly are you rushing to?
Life is going to happen no matter what, so why not make it the best life that you can. Choose to keep your eyes open and ready to spot those positive moments. Choose to be a winner not a victim. Choose to embrace life as an opportunity to be all you can be no matter your circumstances. Choose to be happy within yourself. Be the creator of your own reality. Make your life what you want it to be, sometimes it takes thought and hard work, but if it is really what you desire, it is possible.
You know all the sayings....they all have truth in them.
1. You can be anything you want to be, if you want it badly enough.
2. Life is too short to be miserable.
3. Nobody likes a sour puss.
3. Cry and you cry alone, smile and the world smiles with you.
4. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.
5. Material things don't make the man.
6. It is better to give than to receive. For when you give of yourself, you receive much back.

There are so many more, I'm sure you could add abundantly to this list. The point is, take the opportunity to enjoy your life, to find pleasure in each moment. Yesterday is the past, tomorrow hasn't come yet, you have only today to create. Make it a wonderful creation.

Today, I created an opportunity to laugh with my co-workers, to appreciate the sun shine, to sit and cuddle with the cats, to make a meal for my family, to read the blogs that so inspire me, to share a conversation with my husband, to walk outdoors and this evening to spend time with friends at a stampin' up party.

What did you create today?

Great blog as usual. And so true. These days I try live my life as the one enjoying the journey. It does take some practice to change the old habits. But I feel as though I've come a long way with this. Things do come along to trip us up, and we have to work through them... But I alway strive to continue on...even if I'm limping a bit at first...
Thanks for sharing your thoughs on A Positive Journey...

Enjoy your evening...

Wanda.... very nice blog. Thank you. I often wonder why people fly past me like I'm standing still when I'm going down the highway doing the speed limit. The looks I get... geez. You'd think it was against the law to do the speed limit! Why are people always in such a hurry? When you rush around, you don't enjoy the journey. I've slowed things way down around me... I intend on enjoying my journey through life. I'm glad you do too.
(What is a stampin' up party?) Never heard of it before.
