June 29

I'm thinking that I am going to need to be very diligent and mindful of my attitude today. I read my daily personal guide and this is what it says about today:
Sensitive. Self conscious. A little out of tune. Bad day for stress, deadlines. Take time off. Romance highly favorable. Okay then! *grin*...usually my daily guide is more upbeat, so I will take this "forewarning" and be very mindful throughout my day. I wonder if I should just go back to bed *grin*.

Garry's Dad was moved from Hospice into palliative care yesterday. I really pray that it won't be much longer for him. He is so ready to go. Garry will be heading back to Saskatchewan this weekend for sure, possibly even sooner.

We have some relatives arriving for a visit tomorrow, but they all know the situation and know that plans could change last minute. We'll have about 14 people here for a BBQ tomorrow evening. I'm heading out to Costco after work today to pick up all the fixings. Grilled veggies and some shishkabobs for the meat eaters. I need to make the dessert this evening also as it needs to sit overnight. So between life situation, my house still in renovation chaos, my basement still not returned to normal, and a threat of cooler temperatures and rain....yep, no stress, just life as normal in our household *grin*

My positives:

Family gathering tomorrow. It will be nice to see everyone.
It's a lovely long weekend coming up with an extra day off for me on Monday.
A good night's sleep last night. Only woke up once.
My garden is a lovely place to just rejuvenate in. Thank You Lord for giving me such a place.
School is now out, so traffic is not so crazy around our street.
It a new day, with opportunities yet to be revealed.

Have a wonderful day,
Hugs,
Wanda

Let's try this again...lost the first attempt!

Tuesday, June 28, 2011

Not sure how I managed to lose the first attempt at this this morning, but I did!

I'm throwing this out to the Universe and trusting that I will get some input. My intention is to find a way of earning a living from home that does not involve "selling". I need to change my work environment as it is not so good for my health. I also need to have an income. Working from home is something that I would love to be able to do. Any suggestions? Links to honest jobs? All input would be appreciated.
I know the are all kinds of ideas on the internet, trouble is, finding which ones are legitimate and honest.
Now that I have made the decision that this is the course I need to follow, I have much more peace...so have to believe that I will be provided with the opportunity(ies) that I need.

My positives:
I should be able to apply the final coat of paint on the one wall that requires it today. Then all but the ceiling is done.
We have distant relatives coming for a visit on Thursday. We have invited my aunt and uncle and their daughter as well as my Brother and his wife to come over also. A full house, but it should be interesting figuring out all the family connections.
A lovely sunny afternoon yesterday with a rain shower during the night.
Found a couple of great veggie grilling recipes to try out.
By shifting my focus on my work situation, I've managed to gain some peace. Instead of focusing on "retiring" in order to be in a healthier environment, I've shifted my focus to finding "work" that I can do from home.
Believing that God wants the best for me and being willing to being open to what He supplies.

Hugs,
Wanda

I just love it when I have completed a blog and go to post it and it won't post or a post on one of our threads, arrrrr! The way you let yourself be guided if there is a way to work from home and it's meant to be, I am sure you'll be shown the way, I love the way you approach things in your life. I am glad to be back home today, it was nice to wake up in my own bed and knowing my kids are back home safe and sound. Enjoy this day.

Hugs,
Shirl

June 27

Monday, June 27, 2011

Another short work week is about to begin. July 1 (Canada Day) falls on a Friday this year, which means we are closed. I am also taking Monday of next week off work as part of my overtime hours, so will have a very lovely long weekend.

Garry made it home early evening last night. It has been an exhausting time for him physically as well as mentally. Each time he heads to Saskatchewan, he wonders if this will be last time he sees his Dad alive. It's so good that all of the siblings have been able to be there as much as they have been.

The girls came over for supper last night and were still here when Garry got home. He was so pleased to see them.

We were able to eat dinner out on the back deck, a little on the cool side with the wind blowing, but just so nice to be outdoors and not be in the rain. Still overcast this morning, but hopefully we will have sunshine at some point today.

One more coat of paint in the newly created area in my LR/DR and the walls will be all done. We can then make a decision on cabinets and hopefully have them installed soon. We are going to rent some scaffolding to enable us to get the ceiling painted. The baseboards need to be put back in place, painting the window frames and sills and possibly getting a new front door installed this year and that will give us one more area of the house that is completely reno'd.

We are still waiting for our insurance to get the ball rolling on fixing our basement from the flood this spring. I'm hoping that it happens soon. I would really like to get the stuff that belongs in the basement back down there and out of the rest of the rooms in my house. This living in chaos is really not my thing!

My positives:

Garry arrived home safe and sound. He is hoping to be at home this week.
Girls came over for supper last night and we had some good laughs.
Progress is being made on the renos in the LR/DR.
Supposed to get some sunshine today.
A short work week.
I enjoyed my alone time this past weekend. Lots of meditation time.
Having a higher source of guidance in my life.

Have a wonderful Monday,
\Hugs,
Wanda

Sunshine, where art thou?

Sunday, June 26, 2011

I'm thinking that Environment Canada was not anywhere close in their prediction of the weather for this summer...they predicted a hot, dry summer for this region. Well, they got the hot, dry right but they have the wrong region! The north is hot and dry and very prone to forest fires, but our area has seen very little sunshine, lower than normal temperatures and lots and lots of rain! After the winter we had, I am so in need of some warm and sunshine. I just might have to go and invest in a lamp to aid in SADS.

Had a call from Garry yesterday evening. Their garage sale was a huge success. They almost cleaned out, which is awesome. That will help their Mom a lot. His Dad had a rough day yesterday. He shared with them a dream that he had, which just goes to show how God and the angels are preparing him for his transition to the other side. He dreamt about begin free from pain and lying on a soft and comfortable bed. He said he felt so light. Then he saw himself as he lay in his coffin and realized that he was no longer bound to his body and that he was free.
Thank you Lord for granting him peace about his dying. Please be with Garry and his family and grant them peace and comfort as they prepare to say "until later" to their loved one. Continue to be with Jack as he makes his transition. Fold him in Your arms and ease his journey.

Barring anything happening last night, Garry will probably head home today for a couple of days before heading back again.

We have relatives coming to visit next week. But they also understand that we might or might not be here depending on the situation. We are hosting them on Thursday although they will be in town as of Tuesday.

My positives:

I just have the final touch ups to do on the walls that I painted yesterday and then it's only the ceiling left to do in the LR/DR.
Short week this week. Friday is July 1 and Canada Day, so we are closed. YAY. I also have the following Monday off work, so a nice long weekend.
My tomatoes and potatoes are growing like crazy. I've got some little flowers appearing on the tomato plants already.
I noticed that I have a little tiny zucchini growing on one of my plants...yay!
Laundry is all done.
A good sleep last night.
I'm alive and ready to face the day.

Have a wonderful serenity Sunday.
Hugs,
Wanda

We have had cool wet weather here in northern Minnesota while the rest of the USA seems to be hot, dry and plagued by storms. I am longing for sunshine.

Think I might have my internet issues solved...

Saturday, June 25, 2011

I talked with my IT guy at work yesterday and was telling him about my computer issues and that things work well for a while then slow down to a crawl before not even allowing me to connect. He suggested that once a month as a regular part of my maintenance that I unplug my wireless router and give it a minute before plugging it back in. Apparently routers can gather up "dirt" and get clogged up so they don't work right. Okay...I decided to try that....woo hoo, it worked! My computer connections are good as well as the speed of my searching is rapid once again. I do believe I will follow his advice and make it a regular part of my maintenance.

Had a lovely supper and evening with number one daughter last night. She needed to use my laundry facilities as their is "broken" and their land lord is out of town until the end of the month. It was so nice to spend time with just the two of us.

I had a special treat from Shyra's boyfriend yesterday at work. Kyle came to share lunch with Shyra and brought me a "Timmies" too! Such a lovely and unexpected treat.

Today's "to do" list includes finishing the sanding on the walls and leaving the doors and windows open and attempting to complete the painting of the walls. (one less task for Garry to try and tackle...he is going to rent some scaffolding so he can do the ceiling.) Neither one of us enjoys being up on ladders, so bless his heart for sharing the load of getting the painting done and taking on the major area. He'll try and get it done next time he is home from Saskatchewan.

It appears like we are going to get yet more rain today. The skies are very overcast and it did rain during the night. We had some nice sunshine during parts of yesterday, but not enough to dry anything out! Looks like "damp" is still the order of the day. On the other hand, my garden is loving it!

Have a wonderful day...choose to be happy in whatever your circumstances are. That is your power.

Hugs,
Wanda

Being the nervous type, I unplug my computer stuff every night before I go to bed. I only leave my freezer and set top box for the TV running all night. :-) Oh, and the clock on the cooker. LOL
Did not know about the 'dirt' thing.
Sounds like the decorating and the garden are going well. :-)

Wanda I have to unplug my modem every once in awhile so I can connect to the internet, if I see a red light that's usually my clue that I am not going to get a connection unless I unplug wait a little bit and then plug it back in. It was gray and cloudy all day yesterday and unseasonaly cool, today we have blue clear skies and lots of sun and the weeds in my DD's garden have grown way too much, lol. Took DH to McDonalds for a breakfast sandwich this morning. I had a good night sleep in my own bed, will be heading back out to DD's today. Enjoy your weekend and hope you get sun.

Hugs,
Shirl
