Up bright and early!

Saturday, April 23, 2011

I'm up bright and early even though I don't need to be, go figure! Oh well, I have made a start on re-organizing all the bins that Christmas stuff is packed in. Some of the cardboard boxes that we had things stored in are no longer useable, so I'm creating space in the plastic bins and determining if I need to go out and purchase some more.
As I lay there last night, my mind was going like a speeding train. I figured I would sort through some other containers and find out what I no longer use or need and put them into a garage sale or donation bin. Now that I have the time off work to devote to really doing some organizing...that's my agenda.

Heading out to Costco as soon as it opens this morning. The kids are all coming over for BBQ this evening, and we've decided to roast veggies on the BBQ as well as make spareribs for the meat eaters. Garry bought himself a cool rib rack and a wing rack for his BBQ yesterday. He tried out the wing one last night and is thrilled with how it works, now he wants to try out the rib one. Men and their toys *grin*

My Positives

Transplanted some of my seedlings into separate "bigger" pots. I'll have to start putting them outdoors for a little while each day now to get them used to the weather.
Laundry is on the go.
Kids are coming over tonight.
Time to do so major re-organizing and sorting through things.
Time to do some research and planning for my cold storage room.
Learning that when I have time, things will get done...I'll have to be more creative about making the time, so that I don't end up over doing it.
Being alive.

Have a wonderful Saturday, find your joy in the day.

Sounds like you have a busy day planned. I have a busy day planned as well. Breakfast is now in the tank and it's time for me to get to work. Made one more spark check before I get to work. Glad I did and that I caught your blog. Have a wonderful day. Don't overdo!
Love you.

Good Friday...

Friday, April 22, 2011

Friday, my favorite day of the week...see even God names it "Good Friday" *grin*

The sun is shining and temperatures made it all the way up to plus 10 yesterday. Woo Hoo. Today is supposed to be more of the same. The kids are all coming over this weekend for a BBQ, even better.

Garry has today off work, he's just headed out the door to see if he can wash the vehicle and get all the salt and dirt off of it. Now that the roads are no longer icy and slushy, the roads should be clear of salt and so should the vehicles. When we gets home he is taking me out for breakfast. YAY!

On site restoration crew was here yesterday to remove the four dehumifing machines and check things out. They sprayed the basement again with disinfectant and will come back next week to do another power wash on the floors, dry them out again and then reconstruction can begin.

Still have not heard when my MRI appointment is. It's becoming a bit frustrating...I need to give it to the Lord to deal with, cause obviously my powers of persuasion are pretty bad! *grin*

My positives:

My basement is coming along.
Kids will be here this weekend for a BBQ
My orchid has bloomed and the other one finally after two years looks like it might be thinking about doing the same thing.
Hearing from Mauri...Thanks Mauri for letting me know.
Friends, family and all that we share. I am so blessed to have all of you in my life. Thank you.

Have a wonderful Friday.

So Nice....

Thursday, April 21, 2011

It was so nice to sleep in until 6:30 this mornng. Two hours of added sleep, ahhhhhh.

On site Restoration is coming this morning to check out the basement. They will decide if it is dry enough to remove the big machines and as to when they can begin restoring the basement. YAY...I'm off work and don't have to shuffle schedules.

I am officially on holidays now, although our holiday plans have changed, it's still nice to not have to go into work.

I will spend the day tidying things up at home, tending to my little seedlings and just might get out to look at purchasing some big containers for my potato plants to grow in. It all depends on if they are still on sale. I can actually see me garden bed again, the snow has finally all melted off of it. Once the rest of the snow is gone, I should be able to get out there and begin preparing the soil for planting. Hopefully, Garry will have time to build me the two extra raised beds that I want. If not...well container gardening it will be for this year.

My Positives:
I'm officially on holidays!
Sunshine today.
Basement restoration will be happening. Soon I won't have all the basement stuff scattered through out my upstairs living. *grin*
A lovely visit with Susan after work yesterday. We both are enjoying getting to know each other and establishing a nice friendship outside of work.
My income tax rebate cheque arrived and now I have the money to pay the deductible on our insurance. Amazing how God provides just what we need when we stop worrying about things.
Waking up this morning and knowing that the day is mine.

Have a wonderful day,

Have you heard from the hospital yet. MRI scheduled? Hate to see you have to wrangle around with that one. BUT, lots of good stuff going on. Enjoy your time off. It is a real treat! Happy Holidays.

Yay, holidays start after work today!

Wednesday, April 20, 2011

I am so looking forward to some time off. The basement is finally starting to dry out, the house still smells damp though when you walk in. Now I will have time to organize things into a temporary location until the basement is all put back together. Right now, we have things everywhere there is a spot to put it.

Emailed Dr. Makus after work yesterday to let him know that I still haven't heard about my appointment. I'm hoping that I hear soon as life is sort of on hold until I know the date and time. We don't want to commit to other things only to find that we have to change them too.

I'm meeting up with Susan (co-worker) after work today for a bit of a visit. It will be nice to have some friendship time. We are both off work at 2pm today, so it's a good time to get together.

My Positives:

I made it through the past week of challenges.
Holiday time starts as of 2pm today.
Meeting up for a friendship visit after work.
I'll have time to organize my house.
Life is good.

Have a great Wednesday, choose to be happy.

Another day, another dollar for the Government *grin*

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Statistics show something like Jan to August/September before we are no longer earning money for the government. No wonder I feel like I never have any extra! Now we will have yet again another election to pay for, the 4th one is 7 years, I think the count is up to now. Siggghhh. Well, we get to vote once again May 2nd for a leader for our country.
I'm grateful that I live in country that allows the freedom to vote and choose our representative...just wish there was a someone worth voting for! They are all like bullies in a school yard, boosting about how much better they are than the other guy. If they can get the public to see all the negatives about their opponent, then they won't have the public see their negatives, let alone hear any positives. If any of them had to run under a law that stated they could not use slander, slams or other negative talk about their opponent, I don't think they could do it. They would have nothing to say! This will be an interesting election.

I still have not heard about when my MRI is scheduled...so will email Dr. Makus this morning from work to let him know that his request for me to be seen as a "priority" still has me in limbo land. Thought I would wait until I get to work, just in case there is a message on my work phone.

My Positives:
It looks like the basement floor is appearing a little less damp.
I was able to open the door for a bit yesterday afternoon and let some fresh air circulate in the house. It made it up to plus 3!
Two more days of work until my holidays start.
I noticed yesterday morning as I was heading for work that it is now beginning to get a tiny bit lighter on the eastern horizon at 5:30 am. YAY! Give it another couple of weeks and it might actually be light when I go to work.
Spectacular "moon" view as I was going to work yesterday morning. It was absolutely gorgeous. Huge and orange hanging over top of one of the buildings as I was walking into my place of work. I'm planning on taking my camera with me this morning to see if there is a repeat of yesterday's beautiful picture.
Garry's income tax rebate arrived yesterday, hopefully mine will be in today's mail. Yay...we can pay off the loan for his RRSP's.
God...He is so good to us.

Have a wonderful day,

Although I'm a Canadian citizen, I've been non-resident for more than 5 years so I'm not allowed to vote. I wish I could this time because I'm very worried about the autocratic and non-democratic tendencies the current government has shown.

The system here uses proportional representation which forces coalition governments. It means the winners get to steer the course, but they can't do it taking the whole electorate into account, not just their own party members. There are disadvantages too, of course, and campaigns have become more vicious (thank you, Geert Wilders) in the last 10 years, but on the whole, the level of discourse is still not as bad as the negativity of Canadian and American politics.

Thank heavens there are beautiful moons to lift our hearts!

What's an RRSP? Hope that your moon made another appearance this morning so that you can record that beauty. Interesting to read that politics has evolved the same in your country. Apparently, negative campaigning works or else they probably wouldn't do it. It's a shame, really. But we go on, regardless of who is running the government. And we learn to make do with less, don't we?
Have a good Tuesday. It won't be long until you have your time to play!
