Double digit days, single digit temperatures.

This month is zipping by, we are already into the double digit days of April. Unfortunately the temperatures are still in the very low single digits. We dip down to below zero at night but at least during the daytime we are above zero, barely, but still above zero. Makes it nippy out when I head for work, but at least sunshine when I head home.

I have to leave work early tomorrow, as my washing machine repair man is coming sometime between 1 and 3pm. My machine has been acting up lately and while it's still on warranty...it's time to have it looked at.

A busy week this week at work, lots of meetings as well as my MRI on Thursday. YAY.

My goal this week...to use my lunch break and get some walking in. The walking paths are all clear now and as long as it's nice out....why not put the good weather to good use!

My positives:
Finding my motivation once again. It's been a very long winter and it's time to get outdoors once again.
Only 8 more working days until it's holiday time.
Goals are set for this week and with cooperation from the weather...I'll achieve them. *grin*

Had a great day yesterday. Kaeli phoned and wanted me to come shopping with her to South Common. It was such a lovely day out that walking around South Common was an enjoyable treat. Outdoors and sunshine all rollled into one.

Dinner later that even at the girls. Kaeii's boyfriend was there as well as Quin and Afton came. It is so lovely that our children live so close and want to spend time with us. Kaeli made some great baked potatoes. She sliced them thin and almost all the way through, added slivers of garlic between the slices, sea salt and olive oil and baked them for 40 minutes....yummy! Asparagus done on the grill and salad rounded out my meal and it was so delicious. Steaks rounded out the rest of the meals .

Today will be spent getting some groceries and just enjoying the day.

My Positives:

My children and their "friends". Having our children so close is such a blessing.
More snow has melted and I can now see sections of ground...YAY!
A lovely massage yesterday and time chatting with my massage therapist.
MRI this week and hopefully some answers.
Sunshine and warmer weather. Even the geese that are back and settling into the pond that is not far from us are enjoying the fact that the pond is showing signs of opening up.
Life. How blessed we are.

I remembered last night as I got ready for bed that Saturday is my monthly "Massage". It's very unusual that I forget about this treat, but it completely slipped my mind. Bonus...today I get to go and have my massage!
When I get home again, then I will start the laundry and rearrange my list of things I planned to do for today.

I had a wonderful visit with Sharon and baby Jaidyn last night. Julie was out with her relatives, so the "grandmas' got to babysit and visit. It will be sad to see them depart on Sunday to head back home, but what a lovely time of visiting we have had.
Tonight, Garry and I are going over to the girls place for supper. Yay! Kaeli phoned yesterday and wanted to know if I would take her to Costco shopping today. It should be a fun day.

My Positives:
Wonderful visit with Julie, Jaidyn and Sharon.
Dinner at the girl's place this evening.
Warm and sunshine forecast for this weekend.
Massage day.
Spring is definitely in the air...while reading the local paper, I noticed dozens of "garage sales" listed already *grin*
Snow banks are retreating ....we can actually see ground in several places now!
Only 8 more working days before my holidays begin.
Looking forward to having the stretch of time to finish some on going projects in the house. Our new flooring for the living room and dining area should arrive during our time off work...we might even be able to get it all installed *grin*

Have a wonderful Silly Saturday...enjoy the sound of laughter and if laughter is a stretch for you today...try smiling at yourself in the mirror and see if it doesn't boost your spirits!

What a wonderful day Friday is, even the sound of the word Friday makes me happy.

Today is our friend Marla's surgery and yesterday was our friend Shirl's surgery. Prayers for quick healing for both of them are winging their way to them. What a blessing that we live in a part of the world where medical attention is provided.

We are forecasted for a lovely warm weekend...plus 8 to plus 10, woo hoo. The snow is being challenged and it's beginning to lose it's grip on the land. I'm more and more hopeful that I'll be planting into my garden at the end of May.

My Positives:

It's Friday!
We'll see Julie, Jaidyn and Sharon once again this weekend.
Quin is back in town from his work.
Hoping to get a walk in during my lunch break today.
Walking planned on my weekend, just being able to get outside once again is a blessing.
A very blessed life.

A better day today...

A much better day today. I ended up going to work yesterday mornng but returnng home again a couple of hours later. Headed back to bed and some sleep. Woke up this morning feeling much better. Headache is under control now and with carefulness, I should be good for the day.

I did manage to also get the income taxes completed and netfiled late yesterday...yay, all done for another year. Made the decision to invest in the Quicken books software program. I was able to download it from the website and will spend this weekend, learning the ins and outs about it and hopefully it will make things even easier for next year income tax time.

Gas prices took a major jump here yesterday. Prices at the pump jumped 9 cents a litre. I find it amazing that something that is produced in our own country (our own province) is so expensive. But apparently it is priced according to "world" markets. I will be doing more planning and consolidating of my vehicle useage. Once it gets light outside in the mornings when I go to work, I might even plan some walking to work. It would be about an hour walking each way, so we will see how that goes.

My positives:

Income taxes are done for another year.
Headache is now in the controlled level.
It's Thursday, so almost the weekend.
Sunshine forecasted for the rest of the week....YAY!
Bought the Quicken Books software, now I can do everything on the computer with regards to finances.
Weather is warmer and sidewalks are cleared...I can start walking outdoors once again.
Friends, family and God, all who contribute to a wonderful life.

Yeah ... a better day. I am also feeling a little better as my back continues to heal and need extra careful treatment(s) ... nothing like good health! I've been dosing up on all kinds of vitamins and homeopathics and have managed to not catch the flu while everyone around me seems to have it (I think I built up antibodies to it two years ago when I got it really bad). Hope those headaches dissipate! Makes life a lot tougher when you're in pain. I'm doctoring myself as well. I've have had a swollen gland in my neck for about 4 days now. Is it an ear, nose or throat issue? Abscessed tooth? I think that I've discovered that it is a tooth/gum issue and have started rinsing with peroxide. That seems to alleviate some of the discomfort. So I'm keeping an eye on my progress to see if I need some professional assistance. A wait and see approach. But enough about me! I'm sending positive, anti-headache vibes your way.
