As part of this week's challenge...I'm sharing what Spring is like in my part of the world *grin* These pictures were taken this morning.

March 28...taking time for me.

I am blessed today to not have to go in to work. Instead, this will be a day for me.
We had a busy weekend and now I'm going to take the gift of today and make it into a day of doing good things for myself. Recharging my batteries.

Yesterday, we were blessed by the gift of free tickets to the home and garden show in the city. Afton (our son's girlfriend) was working at the show and dropped off the tickets for us to use. She also brought me a lovely bouquet of spring flowers, "just because". What a sweetheart. She heads back to Red Deer this morning as she is attending teacher's college there. One more month and then finals. It's hard to believe that a year has gone by so quickly for her.

Today, I will spend some time working on this week's challenge. Check out challenge to see the results of what I'll be working on. I haven't decided yet if I will do all of it at one time or if I will tease you and do a little each day! hmmmm.

My positives:
An extra day off in my weekend.
Today is my day to recharge and just be.
Being blessed with a lovely bouquet of spring flowers.
Having supportive and lovely family and friends.

Where is the sunshine???

This has been a very long winter...the hardest part for me is the fact that we have had so little sunshine...where is the sunshine???

Woke up this morning to another grey and overcast day, wind is blowing hard. I can see the flag in the school yard whipping around like crazy. ssssiiiggghhh.

The kids were all over for a great visit last night. We decided to order pizza in for supper. I remember now, why I seldom eat pizza anymore. It is so heavy in my stomach! We sent most of the left over pizza home with the kids, Garry just kept a couple of pieces for himself.
Today, Garry and I are planning on taking in the Home and Garden show in the city. That will give us both lots of exercise, as the show covers a huge area. Should be a great day.

I need to also go and purchase my income tax software "turbo tax" so that I can get the income taxes all done. My one thing that I always procrastinate over. My least favorite thing to do...but they need to be done, so get done they will.

My positives:
My lovely little seeds are all doing well, with the exception of a couple of little pots that although the seeds grew, they look poorly. As the seedlings all around them are doing well, I'm thinking that these were just not great seeds in the first place.
A great evening last night with the kids.
An extra day off work tomorrow.
A new awareness about myself that has given me lots to think about and work on.

Life...how blessed we are.

I'm taking a trip to the store to pick up some seeds. Last week's challenge was one that I really wanted to participate in. Got too caught up in my trial duties, but that is over and I'll just have to be behind you one week. I think I can do that. I hope that you get to go and then have fun at the Home and Garden show. How does time both go slowly and rapidly at the same time? It seems like some days just drag by, but when you look at the over all picture, the month has slipped by rather quickly. Amazing concept that we call "time".

A co-worker told Shy and I about a store in her town that is closing out of the location they are at and moving and having a fantastic sale. Shy and I are going to try and go after she is off work today, at the very least tomorrow. Shy needs some new jeans.

Family gathering at our place tomorrow evening. The kids are all in town and they decided it's time to get together again. YAY! I love that our kids like getting together with Mom and Dad. Q's girlfriend is working at the Home and Garden show this weekend in Edmonton and gave tickets to Garry and I for Sunday. Another YAY! So what started out like a weekend with no plans, has suddenly become a weekend with plans.

My Positives:

My children and their friends.
Garry.
A three day weekend ahead of me.
It's Fabulous Friday.
My little seedlings are all sprouting and I'm excited to see them all doing so well.
Julie, Sharon and baby Jaidyn are arriving next weekend for a quick visit. Julie is like another one of our children...she and Kaeli have been best friends since they were 8 years old. Sharon is Julie's mom. We are looking so forward to seeing the baby.
It is supposed to be a sunny weekend this weekend....PLLLEEEEASSSE! I need some sunshine!

Hi Wanda, yes I actually got connected this moring, will wonders never cease, lol. I believe this is the coldest March we've had in a long time, only in the teens this morning, but I know warmer weather is on it's way. I have not been able to get back on here since last Friday. I know I don't pay for my wireless internet but it would be nice if it gave good service. I am going to look into AT&T internet. It sounds like you have a full weekend, enjoy family and friends. My day is off to a roaring start...25 points on the wheel this morning. This doesn't happen to often, so I'm celebrating *grin*

I had a lovely couple of hour visit with Susan after work yesterday. It was nice to sit and chat and just be with a friend. We both agreed that we need to make it a regular occurance.

Miserable weather here and all around us yesterday. Major snow falls to snow and sleet, all making the roads a very hazardous place to be. For everyone else that is driving...take care!

My positives:

A short drive to work and at the time I go, very little traffic.
A great visit with a friend and co-worker.
It's almost the weekend.
The daylight in my days is getting longer. Yay.
A good sleep last night....looking forward to not having to be up at 4:30am on the weekend.
Life...it's good and filled with blessings....some days I just have to look harder for them, but they are there.

Wanda, nice of you to take the sn*w since our expected 6 in. was only 2 in. in my town...so must be because you got the rest. What a lovely gift you gave me! Glad you had a nice visit with Susan.
