Sunday, a time to just be.

Sunday, March 06, 2011

Ahhh, Serrenity Sunday...a time to just be. It's a day for taking time to be grateful for all the blessings that have come my way and give thanks. It's a time to appreciate all that I am and all that I desire to be.

Got almost all of my yesterday's agenda accomplished, had some flexibility at work in my day and had a good day. We spent some time visiting with the girls and time relaxing after working on some projects. A good day.

My positives:
Being alive
Being flexible.
Sunshine later in the afternoon yesterday...and it looks like there will be some sunshine today also! YAY.
No snow shoveling required this morning.
Time today to be reflective and gather my thoughts.

Life is good.

Hugs,
Wanda

A lovely weekend ahead, snow shoveling is on the agenda for this morning too!

I just hope that when it warms up and starts to melt that it does it slowly to lessen the impact of flooding in many areas. There is so much snow this year. Should be good for the farmers though, providing it melts by the time seeding is needing to be done.

My agenda today: Laundry, washing floors, snow shoveling, a bit of painting...hopefully the ceiling in the living room. We might even get the carpet torn out in there this weekend. We want to lay hardwood, but that still might be a spring project. Get weekly challenge posted, check in with the girls, especially Kaeli to see how she is doing. She is still having a great deal of difficulty breathing even with the increase in her asthma meds. She is seeing her doctor again on Wednesday and requesting a chest x-ray this time. I know there is something else I had planned for today, but I can't remember what it was...oh well, I'm sure it will come to me eventually*grin*

My Positives:
My children...love how no matter how old they get, they still call Mom when they aren't well! I wish the magic of "kissing the boo boo" still worked though.
Some of the projects that haven't been "quite" finished have now made it up the scale of priority and are being dealt with. (Helps that we have a family reunion planned for this summer*grin*)
A three day weekend.
Friends who send me emails that let me know they are thinking of me. I appreciate them...thank you.
God, who never gives up on me...guides who help me...family and friends that love me.

Have a wonderful Saturday...take time for play.

Hugs,
Wanda

I had to smile at your 'kissing the booboo' comment. We all have this healing ability within us, which tends to manifest when we hold our kids, or their hurt area, to make it better and it miraculously stops hurting. I wish more people understood the properties of love and spirit that go into that small gesture. It is a good place to start learning the art of healing from. :-)

So sorry Kaeli is still suffering. *hugs to her*

Can you melt snow to wash your floors? Just thought it would be a fun way to utilise some of that 'free' water. LOL

Have a great weekend, in spite of the shovelling.

Lex xxx

Happy Saturday. I'm enjoying my sister's company, the biggest blessing of which is a hearty walking buddy. I've walked more in the past 24 hours than I have all season. Enjoy your tasks. Thanks for your faithfulness.

Nancy

Happy, happy, happy...it's Friday!

Friday, March 04, 2011

Yay, it's Friday...and I have a 3 day weekend to look forward to.

Things are slower at work this week, enough to keep me working all day, but definitely not the pace that we got used to last year. I might even see if I can leave work early today if my work is all caught up.Hmmmm!

My positives:

2 cardio workouts yesterday, one in the morning, shoveling with Garry and one after work shoveling on my own. I'll even get one more in this morning, but it looks like a light on, not much of the white stuff fell overnight.
Shy and I had the opportunity to have lunch together yesterday.
It's Friday and I have a 3 day weekend to look forward to.
A good night's sleep last night.
Temperatures outside have warmed up to a balmy minus 15....woo hoo! *grin*
I managed to keep my inner dialog from becoming my outer dialog at work yesterday...a struggle, but I did it!
My life is blessed and I am grateful for all the lessons that come my way, they are opportunities to grow.

Have a wonderful and Fabulous Friday,
Hugs,
Wanda

Enjoy your weekend, and whatever that inner dialogue was you were keeping under wraps, try and find a positive way to release it so it doesn't fester, assuming you haven't already done so. :-)

I'm out the door once again this morning to do more shoveling....siggghhhh!

I'm using up some of my accumulated overtime and taking Monday off work. In fact, I decided to try and use up all my hours by trying to take off a couple of days each month. I have so much time accumulated and it needs to be used up. Figure if I take the time off around a weekend, then it gives me 3 days in a row off.YAY.

Woo Hoo, Garry got up and came down to help me shovel snow. Between the two of us we got it done in about 20 minutes....bless his heart.

My Positives:

Garry's help this morning shoveling snow.
No wind this morning, so being outdoors wasn't as bad as it has been. That wind chill factor really makes a difference.
Got my cardio exercise in for the day...I know I'll get more during the day, but the bulk of it is done.
A nice long weekend to look forward to.
T-4's have arrived from our places of work, so I can start gathering all the income tax stuff together and hopefully get it done over the next couple of weeks.
Talked to one of Garry's aunt's yesterday that we haven't seen or talked to in a long while. They are hoping to come to the family reunion this August...YAY.
Counting my blessings...all the little ones really add up at the end of each day.

Have a wonderful Thursday...keep on moving forward.

Hugs,
Wanda

Wow Wanda you sure get your share of snow up there. Makes me appreciate even the worst of snow storms here. They come let us enjoy its beauty and then melts away within a week or so. Sending you wishes of warmer weather.

Ooooo....Wanda, sn*w! Yikes. You sure are racking up fitness points! :)

Nice that you can take time off for overtime hours...that doesn't happen with the new job...

Hope you enjoyed your day...Hugs.

I am indeed moving forward. Life is good. When I read of your shoveling and cold weather, it reminds me of just how fortunate I consider myself to be living in this warmer climate. Glad that you have some extra time off to spend. Nice currency. Have a terrific Thursday. I will as well.

Nancy

And the bitter cold continues...we are, according to the weatherpeople, sitting about 20 degrees colder than normal for this time of year and likely to remain this way for some time. Brrrrrr!

I'm struggling to find my positives in yesterday. I know there are some of them, so I will keep looking.

1. I survived the day intake.
2. Gained some insight into a situation at work. With the knowledge that I now have, I can take the necessary steps to move forward.
3. Had a series of x-rays done on my neck, which hopefully will give the doctor the answers needed.
4. I make the choices of how I act and react and thus I am responsible for "only" my choices.

That being said, I choose to let go of what I can not change and embrace the new day with a positive attitude.

Have an awesome and wacky day,
Hugs,
Wanda

Thanks for modeling good behavior. It is always a good reminder. I have a choice for my reaction to everything that occurs in my life. That is the only thing I have control over. I'll pray that your neck ailments are healed. Love you!

Hope they can figure out what to do for your neck problem and that your temps get to the plus side soon. We had a beautiful day to go get DH's blood work done, it's 32 out right now and sunny.

Hugs,
Shirl

Brrrrrr...Ol' Man Winter just doesn't want to let go this year it seems!

Hope your diagnosis is something that can be treated easily...and good job on finding those positives...I'm working REALLY hard at them today.

Hugs.
