March 02

Wednesday, March 02, 2011

And the bitter cold continues...we are, according to the weatherpeople, sitting about 20 degrees colder than normal for this time of year and likely to remain this way for some time. Brrrrrr!

I'm struggling to find my positives in yesterday. I know there are some of them, so I will keep looking.

1. I survived the day intake.
2. Gained some insight into a situation at work. With the knowledge that I now have, I can take the necessary steps to move forward.
3. Had a series of x-rays done on my neck, which hopefully will give the doctor the answers needed.
4. I make the choices of how I act and react and thus I am responsible for "only" my choices.

That being said, I choose to let go of what I can not change and embrace the new day with a positive attitude.

Have an awesome and wacky day,
Hugs,
Wanda

Thanks for modeling good behavior. It is always a good reminder. I have a choice for my reaction to everything that occurs in my life. That is the only thing I have control over. I'll pray that your neck ailments are healed. Love you!

Hope they can figure out what to do for your neck problem and that your temps get to the plus side soon. We had a beautiful day to go get DH's blood work done, it's 32 out right now and sunny.

Hugs,
Shirl

Brrrrrr...Ol' Man Winter just doesn't want to let go this year it seems!

Hope your diagnosis is something that can be treated easily...and good job on finding those positives...I'm working REALLY hard at them today.

Hugs.

March 1...in like a lion and hopefully out like a lamb

Tuesday, March 01, 2011

I am hoping that the adage "in like a lion out like a lamb" will prove itself true for the month of March. I drove home yesterday in white out conditions, had to shovel the driveway out before I could get in to park. That brought to a close the end of February. Looking out the window this morning, tells me that I don't have to shovel before heading to work, but the weather forecast tells me that I probably will be shoveling after work. This is the strangest weather patterns I have seen. We have apparently broken the record snowfall records set back in 1974 or '75 for our area. With the amount of snow we have piled up in the yard, I will believe that! It could be June before it's all gone.

Anyway, I'm sure you are all tired of me complaining about winter, so I will stop.

My Positives:
It's a new month, new goals, new attitude.
Although I didn't reach some of the goals I had for myself for February, I still did well and am on track.
I working on being more flexible and as a result putting less stress on myself.
All is well in my world, we all have our health, we all have each other.

Have a wonderfully blessed day, thank you for stopping by.

Hugs,
Wanda

Last day already of February

Monday, February 28, 2011

It's the last day of the second month of a new year already...I've made progress in some areas and not as much as I'd hoped in others. It's a time to evaluate and see what is working for me and eliminate what isn't.

I'm excited because it will be March and we are definitely looking at the end months of winter. Yay! I do have to get out the door early this morning to do some shoveling as it's been snowing and blowing most of the night. Here's hoping March will be in like a lion and out like a lamb. Our temperatures are still in the deep freeze, but it's mainly the wind that creates the freezing cold.

Yesterday was spent connecting with family members and letting them know about the up coming mini-family reunion that we are planning for August of this year. It's exciting to hear confirms from so many already. With Garry's Dad battling cancer once again, we thought it was high time that we got as many of the family together as we can.

My positives:
Chatting with family that we haven't chatted with for awhile.
Positive response about the reunion.
Learning to let go and let God. His plans are always better than mine!
Learning to look on the bumps in the road as opportunities instead of obstacles.
The value of friendship.

Have a wonderful Monday...take responsibility for your own motivation. The choices are yours and yours alone.

Hugs,
Wanda

I will be very glad to see all my snowed-in frozen friends warming up real soon. Jack Frost can't hold on forever! *picks up hairdrier, switches to hot setting and points it in the direction of Canada*

Wanda, my plan was to evaluate at the end of each month...now if only my job didn't take so much time!!!

It's icy here this morning...so decided to head into work a bit later in the hopes the roads will be better...accidents everywhere!

Have a great day...AFTER the shoveling...You know how I feel about March being around the corner!

This time of year our weather is such a mixed bag, you never know what you're going to get. I think we got a litle freezing rain during the night, but the temps will be going up so by noon any ice should be gone, but we decided not to go to Battle Creek for Clenton's blood work, will see how Wed. is. I am glad to see March and the promise of spring will be in the air. Enjoy this last day of Feb.

Shirl

I'm ready for spring too! Try and focus on the positives, like you listed here. That will help motivate you to make more/do more each month. Little changes are best anyway! Keep up the good work!

Feb 27

Light fluffy snow coming down once again this morning. It quit snowing for awhile yesterday and we had a lovely semi-sunny afternoon.

Garry and I headed out to the Home Depot and picked up some things to finally finish off one of the bathroom renovations that we had started a long time ago. It's the little finishing touches that needed to be complete.

We are planning on having a family reunion this August at our place, so now the motivation is in place to actually complete some of the things that need to be completed. The invitations have been extended and now we will wait to see how many and how all are coming.

Shyra and her boyfriend came over for dinner last night and stayed until after midnight visiting. We had lots of laughs and fun. A great opportunity to get to know Kyle even better.

My positives:
Time with family.
Fun time with Garry yesterday.
Some otherwise unfinished projects have now made it onto the list of things that "must" be completed.
Plans for the family reunion are coming together nicely.
Chatted with an Aunt of Garry's in BC. We are very close to Jeannie and Rudy and miss not popping in for visits with them. Unfortunately they are unable to come as they have a wedding to attend that weekend. But we are planning a separate get together.
I and my family are very blessed.

Have a wonderful Serenity Sunday, take the time to be appreciative of all that you have.

Hugs,
Wanda

I love when honesty with one's self gives you clarity!

Saturday, February 26, 2011

Kaeli was feeling well enough to spend the evening with me and about 12 other persons at a workshop. It was very interesting. The group is called "entity seekers" and they are a local based "ghosthunting team". It was interesting to attend this workshop and actually be able to get some insight into what they do. What's on television is "staged" and often very inaccurate. They were very informative and interesting to listen to. I had a great "ahh" moment and an opportunity to do some self examination once I got home. An opportunity to get some clarity about myself and hopefully some personal growth. For anyone wanting to check them out here is a link www.entityseeker.com/

Kaeli had been looking for something to do when she came across the workshop that was being offered, phoned me and asked if I would attend with her. Why not? It's an opportunity to learn something and that is exactly what I did! It was interesting to learn just how easily one's mind can be fooled and how we need to constantly be looking for logically explanations rather than allowing jumping to false assumptions. Althought, I'm not sure (and I say that, because one can't tell the future with certainty) that I will go to other workshops, but I am grateful for this one and my ahhh moment.

Positives:

Spending time with Kaeli
Being open to learning and growing.
A day to spend with my hubby.
A lovely hot cup of Timmies French Vanilla that hubby just brought home for me.
Ahhh moments that although can be difficult to work your way through, certainly give you clarity.
Peace
Positive Bloggers team and their support and encouragment.
Friends and family.

Have a wonderful Silly Saturday, let your inner child out to play.

Hugs,
Wanda

Oh, Wanda...Do you mean Tim Horton's? I miss them since they closed all their stores here in RI. :(

Sounds like an interesting workshop...I'll check out that website. Nice that you could spend time with Kaeli!! What fun!!

We are having sn*w today...but I am determined to not let it get to me today...I can curl up with a good book, my Pandora app on my iPad playing soft music...and the girls, of course!

Hugs & blessings!
