The deep freeze temperatures have settled in. It's minus 27 again this morning and only supposed to make it up to minus 21 today. With the wind chill factored in, it gets to the point that it's just plain "cold".

Yay, it is almost Friday. Kaeli and I have an evening planned together, that is if she is feeling any better. She has a terrific cold at the moment that is moving down into her chest. I tend to be more concerned about that, as she is asthmatic and colds in the chest are not fun.

Okay, that's two negative thoughts...let's find the positive in them. It may be cold, but that means it's too cold to Snow! YAY. Kaeli may be feeling rough, but we can still have time together, even if it's over a cup of nice warm tea.

My positives:

Shy has invited me to go shopping with her. She is on the look out for a "cute" bathing suit as she is heading to Cuba in May for a week's holiday.
Plans with Kaeli tomorrow evening.
The first steps to holding a family reunion on Garry's side of the family are slowly coming together. We are looking to have it at our place this August. It will only involve his siblings, parents and the relatives that live close by. (at least at this point, who knows in the end)
My new mantra "I choose to live in Easy World, where all things are easy" is beginning to take hold in my life. When I let go and let God, it's amazing how much smoother life is.

Have a wonderfully blessed day, let your inner guidance have control.

Hugs,
Wanda

It's a double birthday day today....my brother in laws birthday and it's our teammate Marla's birthday. Let's celebrate!

I'm all caught up at work, no orders sitting in my basket, so this could be a long day! I'm hoping that since I left work yesterday, that my basket has miraculously become filled once again. I'm going in with high expectations that things will fall into place to keep me busy.

My positives:
I'm making healthy choices.
I had a great night's sleep last night.
It's Marla's birthday...YAY...Happy Birthday Marla.
A warm home, a warm vehicle to get to and from places and warm clothes to wear.
A mind that can visualize my dreams and once dreamt, can then create the dreams through actions.
Life.

It's a wonderful day to be alive, celebrate.

Hugs,
Wanda

Happy Wednesday, Wanda! I hope that all your "baskets" are full today. My Wednesday is going well so far. I got a job for the next three school days and I have today to prepare. I am pleased with that.
I may need a sounding board here soon. Are you up for the job? Let me know.
Love,
Nancy

Another month almost over, on the bright side of that, winter is almost over too! Well, at least the bulk of what we normally know as winter is almost over. I'm sure that the snow will be around for awhile yet. More snow is on it's way as are the cold temperatures. But by the time March rolls around you are at least able to tell yourself that "winter" won't last forever!

Back to work after a lovely long weekend. Not a very restful sleep last night, it was filled with odd dreams that involved people from today, but events from my growing up years. Seemed to center mainly around one town in the north in particular and my teen years. Very odd. They weren't disturbing dreams, but felt more like it was important that the people from now understood the past. Perhaps, it was me that needed to understand the past. Will do some contemplating today.

My positives:
A short work week.
The local fundraiser/hockey event met it's goal of setting another Guinness record for longest hockey game. They finished up yesterday. They didn't quite make the goal of raising a million dollars, but came pretty close. There just might be some last minute donations that come in and that goal might be met also. Eight days straight of playing outdoor hockey round the clock. Kudos to all those involved. The temperatures were brutal, but they persevered. So proud of all they have done.
I did pretty good at staying on track this weekend. I'm finding that by saying my mantra frequently, it reminds me of what is important.
Setting small goals for myself is working better than only having large goals.
Living life in the now more frequently. YAY.

Have a wonderful day, believe in yourself.

Hugs,
Wanda

Lexie...that is a very interesting take. It resonates completely with me. For the past few years, I felt "driven" to get back to basics...hence the gardening and the canning once again. At time I fell like I'm in a race against time to be prepared. Thank you.

One of the things that springs to mind regarding your dream is the need I think we have to re-learn abilities that have become largely lost in this modern techno-age. Even simple things like making clothes, and cooking from scratch are skills we really need as we go forward and find modern conveniences becoming too costly to use more than we have to. (Think Peak Oil) Having those skills and reviving those that are being lost is going to be very necessary in time, I believe. :-)

It's amazing how quickly this winter has passed. And it's been a rough one here in my little part of the world. We had another ice/snow storm last night as a matter of fact. I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of those first spring blooms!

Holiday Monday

Monday, February 21, 2011

Yay, it's a holiday Monday here and I didn't have to be up at 4:30am for work.
My headache from yesterday is finally gone and I'm ready to face the new day.

Spent most of yesterday just resting. Once I take a pain pill, I'm pretty much useless. I don't handle any kind of medication well. It does one of two things to me. Either it makes me sick or it knocks me out. Yay, it knocked me out for awhile yesterday.

The kids came over for dinner last night which was lovely. Quin and Afton, Shyra and Kyle....poor Kaeli stayed home, as she has a really bad cold. We packaged up a meal package for Shyra to take back home to her. We had a lovely evening of visiting and then an early night to bed.

My positives:
It's a holiday Monday(for me, Garry's place of work is not closed and he has to go to work)
Feeling better, headache is gone.
Family togetherness.
I have all my little containers now so that I can start planting some of my seeds for my garden. With the amount of snow we have, I may be growing things indoors for quite some time! I'm excited about growing the lovely tomato seeds that Bre sent me.
Garry is going to build me a second raised garden bed this spring...YAY. I'll be able to grow even more of my own veggies.
My Spark friends that keep me going.
Family and God.

Have a wonderful Monday, be a blessing not only to others, but to yourself too.

Hugs,
Wanda

Short, short blog today

Sunday, February 20, 2011

I'll try to get back later, but woke up with a bad headache this morning. I'm finding that doing anything on the computer is not helping it.

It seems to be a flare up of an old neck injury I had several years ago in a car accident, at least it is orginating from that same location. I need to take a pill and head back to bed.

Til later.

Hugs,
Wanda
