We got hit today!

Saturday, April 19, 2008

Well the snow storm that has been predicted and has been falling all around us has hit with a vengence today! We've got snow! AGAIN! The roads are absolutely horrid...so other than having to make a quick run to the store...we have stayed home...much safer that way. I did get the chance to go to the indoor walking track before the storm really hit. So did get my exercise in today. WOO HOO! It was enjoyable doing the track today as it sits above the main part of the building and they were having volleyball tournaments going on in the center. Something different to watch as you made continuous laps around the track.
The good thing about this storm, is you know that it is not going to last for long, next week is supposed to be raining...go figure!

I did see a very humorous sign today in the store window while waiting for my daughter to pick up sunflower seeds. It was so good that I went into the store to tell the employee how great the sign was! He laughed and said the credit goes to his dad.

Sign: You can win a free ride in a police car just by shoplifting in this store. We will put your name in the newspaper so that your friends and family can see it and be proud of you.

It just cracked me up...how original and so to the point.

A very relaxing and great day for reading all the books that seem to be calling my name...just had to decide which one I wanted to read first! All the books that I had placed holds on at the library seemed to come available at the same time...so busy evenings ahead trying to get them all read. What a tough life! lol.

Have a great evening everyone. Watch out for the flying snowballs...the weather is just perfect for the nice big wet ones!

Good Morning my friend... Wow sounds like that storm got a little crazy... Glad you're home safe and warm curled up with a good book... Sounds divine...

Oh and BTW... Those big snowballs MELTED before they got here... We just got hit with a BIG RAIN... But only lasted a few minutes... lol So I figured it just had to be your Snowball... LOL
Thanks... The garden and flowers loved the drink... LOL

Hope today is a good one for you too... Stay safe...

Wanda - I not only read about your snow... I felt it (I say as I'm drying off - geez, that was wet!) LOL Next time warn me it's coming & I'll duck & let it hit Kevin instead!

Your walk around the track sounded nice. Yes, a volleyball game sounds more interesting to watch as you walk then just going in a circle...or oval as the case may be!

I used to read books all the time & still do when I get a chance. But before the computer came along, you'd catch me with a book around always. Still love to read. I get so engrossed in a story that I find myself becoming the main character....or at least the female lead! LOL

Be careful out there in the snow. Sounds like it's too wet to even make a snowman but those killer snowballs of yours were something else let me tell ya!

BeeHive dorm is Awesome!

Friday, April 18, 2008

-10 C outdoors today, but so far no snow! We seem to be under a dome that keeps all the snow away at the moment. We are surrounded by snow fall warnings and highways that are closed due to trecherous snow and ice. Weather news tonight is still saying we are going to get hit with it. The blessing out of all this snow is it will add much needed moisture to the ground.
Great day at work...the day just whizzed by. I was so busy that I almost missed my lunch break!
Looking forward to a pleasant weekend. We are meeting with friends tomorrow night for supper. We haven't seen these people for several years so should be a great time of catching up.

I'm combining my positive blog with an invitation to anyone who would like to join GonnabfitUniversity team. There are weekly challenges that really help you to stay motivated and encouraged. I belong to the Beehive dorm and we are always happy to have new dormies. If you are interested check out this link http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/groups_
individual.asp

Let me know if you would like to join Beehive dorm and I will forward your name off to our head Dormie.
There are weekly challenges as well as ongoing challenges. Friendship is great, as the dorms are a smaller group of people that really get to know one another. I was invited to join and am really glad that I accepted the invitation.

Hope everyone has a wonderful evening. Keep smiling, make others wonder what you are up to!

Oh I'm running late... Just couldn't get here yesterday... I think it was that storm that kept me away... lol There was a dome and I couldn't get through... lol
Brrr Sounds like a bad storm you have. Hope that snow stays away and all the bad stuff continues to go around you...

What a nice evening you have planned too... dinner with old friends... It's so much fun getting together and all the memories just start coming and that leads to lots of smiles and laughing...
I always end up acting like a teenager again... what fun...
Enjoy your dinner... Have a toast for me... lol

Your Beehive dorm invite sounds like fun... I'll have to take a look see to see what kinds of challenges they have... I'm kinda limited on what I can do right now... So I'll let you know... Thanks for thinking of us...

Have a nice day and stay safe and warm... I promise to send more sunshine soon... lol emoticon

Wanda - I'm glad you had a great day at work today. I loved it when I was working & the night went fast for me. Your dinner date tonight sounds like it'll be fun. Wish I could join ya! What's on the menu? LOL

That's odd that the snow's all around you but you're getting none so far! Here I imagined you getting bombarded! What's -10 degrees mean converted to farenheit, do you know? I never was good at the metric system.

I'm glad you're enjoying your BeeHive Dorm. I think my friend Barb has joined that too. I'm not sure if I'd be up to all those challenges or if I could even do them with my tiredness from dialysis but thanks for the invite!

Take care & Have a Sparkling Good Day!

Just a really nice day!

Thursday, April 17, 2008

All I can say about my day today....it was lovely and filled with good feelings. Nothing really special or big happened to me, it just was a day that you knew you were grateful to be alive.
My youngest had her job interview today and they phoned her later in the afternoon and offered her the job. She will start on Monday at the library! She will only be working 17.5 hours a week to begin with, but they are scheduling her hours around her other job! Now she will have an opportunity to see if the library field is what she wants. (this might count as something really special happening today...especially for my daughter! lol)
Got home from work and spent sometime reading through all the blogs that I subscribe to, wow, how positive they all are! Just lifts a person up reading them. Such an encouragement.
But now I'm really falling asleep as I sit here, time to head for bed, do some meditation and sleep the night away.
Have a wonderful evening all.

The snow, they say is a comin'...

Wednesday, April 16, 2008

Weather man is predicting more snow heading our way! As much as 30cm! Mother earth does need the moisture, just wish it would come in the form of rain though.
Great day at work today, I like it when I'm busy. The selectors have started to get themselves in gear and have been sending orders to me in droves! Makes me happy when I have lots to do.
Nothing is more boring than trying to look busy and there's not much to do.
Aquasizes tonight...looking forward to going. Missed going last week do to scheduling conflicts. Funny how your body begins to crave that activity! It know longer enjoys being inactive.
Found a stability ball on sale yesterday, now I just have to inflate it. I've been trying to use my daugher's, but seeing as she is just a tiny little thing, when I sit on it, I feel like I have my knees up around my ears! LOL.
I enjoyed reading the blogs that I subscribe to. The virtual snowball fight was fun...best part was teaching Kathy how to tobbagan downhill (hee hee) and then trying to persuade her to lick the metal pole like a popsicle! (hope she recovers soon!lol)
As I was thinking about all the silliness that we have in our posts and blogs, I realized how much it is similar to my work environment...it's the best stress reliever a person can ever have...Laughter and smiling. thanks everyone.
Must go and get some supper on the go....have an awesome evening and watch out for the snowballs flying.

That was a very muddie snowball... hee hee
But I loved the toboggan downhill ride just fine... Except for the part where I hit the TREE! emoticon LOL
What fun... And I agree that it sure does release stress... Playing is great... We actually do that alot on the chat too... I think some of them think we are kinda crazy... but hey fun is fun...

I'm glad that you were busy today... That always makes the days go by faster... Which was good for you today... you wanted to get home to the snowball fight... lol Well Zinggggg Splat! lol

Oh and I've heard that Marla love the YELLOW snowballs... hee hee Shhhhhh...

Have a wonderful evening...

Wanda - We had "silliness" going on where I used to work too. It sure helped the time go by faster! I'm glad the folks you work with have a good sense of humor. It makes life easier, ya know?

Oh, enjoy your snowfall that will be coming. I just love the stuff. Splaattt! Oops! Couldn't resist. Incoming snowball!

I'm enjoying today....

Tuesday, April 15, 2008

I'm enjoying today and tomorrow and Thursday...cause Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday we are supposed to get more snow! Predicting about 30 cm (2.5 feet). Doesn't the nursery rhyme say "April showers, bring May flowers"????? Snow is NOT showers! It may add moisture to the ground, but it's cold moisture! LOL.
Anyone up for a snowball fight? We'll let that inner child out and do some romping in the snow, maybe make some snow angels, build forts and I'll lob my super duper snowball at you! LOL
Really enjoyed my son's visit last night. Even though it was very late for me going to bed, the 5 hours sleep I managed to get before heading to work this morning saw me through the day. (That and 2 cups of coffee that I drank!)
The purchases that our Bookmobile staff made while on our ULS trip to Calgary last Friday arrived today...wow, that's fast service! Was able to get them all input into our data base and received. They will probably have their shipment in circulation early next week.
Did some walking tonight rather than going to aquasizes. I didn't think I would be able to handle the late night again tonight if I went to aquasizes. Walked for just over an hour, so feel like I did something at least. Between all my exercises today I'm around my average of 100 minutes per day. I still marvel at how I am accomplishing that amount, considering that last August I was basically a couch potato!
Thank you to the Positive ladies that took me along on a virtual frolic at the beach today as well as running through the fields of flowers! It was fun!
Well, my pillow is calling my name and I will be obedient! Yes, Master....I'm coming!

Good night all, rejuvenate your body with some restful sleep and I'll see you tomorrow.

Wanda - Yes...I'm up for a virtual snowball fight...but look out! I can still zing them with the best of 'em! Splaaaat! OOPs.... sorry couldn't resist!

So nice that your visit with your Son went well. I'm glad you got to see him. Isn't it wonderful getting together with family? I just love it.

100 minutes? Wow. You're really moving it Wanda! I'm impressed! I need to keep upping mine too. Today sounds like a good day for me to start that. Thanks. See, you've motivated me to get some more minutes in. Is your middle name Motivator? No... I think it's Wanda Positive! That suits you as well!

I'm so glad that you enjoyed the fun with us today... We always bring you along... Even if you don't know it until later... lol
And I think I can find a virtual coat for a virtual snowball fight... lol We have been doing that on the Chat for months... Cheryl throws real Zingers.... lol And Marla too... They are the masters... I had to use Oranges, because I didn't have any snow... lol But everyone loved it... It loaded them up with vitamin C... lol

So playing in the snow it will be... But Thursday don't' forget your blankie to keep the creepy crawlies off you... You'd never make it in Florida... lol We have so many bugs... yuck...

Glad you enjoyed your sons visit...

Hope you get lots of sleep tonight...
