Fabulous Friday!

Friday, January 14, 2011

YAY, it's fabulous Friday once again. Bonus...things are slow at work, so I have today off work!
This morning, I'll bundle up and Garry and I will head out to do some double shoveling! Start my day with burning some calories. I set a goal for myself of exercising 3 days this week and so far I've done 5 days, yay me! Now I feel like I'm ahead of the game.

It's my massage day tomorrow morning...looking forward to the first one for this year. I am so blessed with being able to go once a month as part of my medical plan. Sure I have to pay up front, but I submit to our medical insurance and they pay me back. Both Garry and I have the same benefit through our places of work, so it means that we get to both go if we want.

Today, I'm thinking that I'll get my weekend chores all done and then I'll have a whole weekend ahead of me of just chilling! I've got some books to read and other than going out the door for my massage and to the grocery store...I'm settling in. Might have to do some shoveling, but that is up to Mother Nature.

My positives:
An extra day off this week...nice bonus.
I'm ahead of the game with my exercise goals this week.
A massage to look forward to tomorrow morning.
It's not snowing at the moment, which means the shoveling that needs to be done isn't being replaced as we shovel.
I'm feeling great!
Still have a restless feeling happening, but as that usually means a change is about to occur...I'm open and excited about what might be in store! I'm trusting that what ever it is, it's for my higher good.
I'm learning and growing spiritually. Some days, my heart just feels so full...awesome feeling.
God, guides and angels in my life. Always offering their guidance and love. Wow.

Have a great day, get in touch with your inner self and allow your guidance to bring you joy.

Hugs,
Wanda

Jan 13

Thursday, January 13, 2011

Almost two weeks into the new year and I'm happy to say that I'm still on track and doing well. A couple of days of being over slightly on my calorie intake, but I made up for it with added moving of my body. I'm also on a great streak this week of getting in 30 minutes of dedicated moving each day. My goal is to get 30 minutes 3x a week over and above my usual stair climbing and walking that I do through out the day at work. I'm happy with how things are working and at how much easier it is to have set smaller goals for myself and know that I can reach them with ease each day. When I surpass the goals, that's a bonus! No more feeling pressured to reach a goal and then feeling bad when it's not possible.

I had a bit of shoveling to do yesterday when I got home from work. It's stopped for now, but is supposed to start in earnest this afternoon and snow for the next four days. I'm getting my workout with shoveling that is for sure. This bout will not be as pleasant to be outdoors in as the temperatures are in the minus 35 range with the wind chill...oh well, I'll just have to move a little faster!

My Positives:
I'm doing well with staying on track and meeting my goals each day.
It's working better for me to set daily goals than only weekly goals.
Talked to our son last night. He is now in northern BC just about to the North West Territory boundary working.
Working on keeping the channels open to change and spiritual growth.
My family, friends that keep me honest with myself.
Reminding myself that I am a work in progress, therefore I do not have to be perfect! Letting go of taking on others responsibilities and concentrating on only my own. Not always as easy as you would think for someone that has breathed in the word responsible all their life!
How wonderfully blessed I am as well as my family.

Have a great day. Find your positives and let go of the negatives in your life.

Hugs,
Wanda

Wanda just thinking about your deep freeze weather makes me shiver, lol. Put on those warm clothes and don't stay out shoveling too long. Love your positives.

"find your positives and let go of the negatives in your life." Maybe I should list positives and add a list of negatives that I have actively let go during my day? Hmmmm. I'll try that on today.
BRRRRRRR, Wanda. Too cold up there! God Bless you! I don't think I'd ever leave the house in that bitter, dangerous weather. I gave myself permission to take the week off from finding work and I'm doing my best to get organized around here. As a matter of fact, I need to get right back at it. Thanks for sharing your journey. I love traveling with you. Have a great day and stay safe and warm.
Love,
Nancy

Jan 11 and all is good

Wednesday, January 12, 2011

Hump Day is here, half way through the work week. Yesterday was a great day as I had some of the day off due to a meeting I had to attend. A nice change, especially as things are a bit slow for me at work this month. My selectors are still recovering from the rush in December to get their budgets spent and are enjoying a slower pace this month.

Temperatures are cold outside today, they are supposed to continue to drop for the rest of the week as well as I'll be moving my body and a snow shovel possibly as early as when I get home from work!

I'm getting back into the routine of walking each day as I watch the news. Walking/marching on the spot as well as doing some weight lifts and stretches. Figure its a good time to do them and I don't feel like a couch potato then when I'm watching the news.

My Positives:
I'm feeling more energized as I get into my routine once again.
I've got a lovely holiday at the end of this month to keep me motivated and excited.
I'm feeling restless, which means that there is a change coming in my life and I'm working on remaining open to whatever the change is bringing.
I blessed with a warm home, transportation to and from work, food on my table and the ability to pay my bills.
I'm grateful for my family and friends, the support and encouragement they provide to me.
I'm grateful for my life.

Have an awesome day. Find your blessings and be a blessing.

Hugs,
Wanda

Happy Wednesday, Wanda! I liked your response to "restlessness". Nice to acknowledge it as a potent of positive change. I like that. My conditioned response to restlessness is dread! Thanks for making me aware of my "condition" and opening my eyes to the fact that the "condition" has just been a poor choice of attitude. (learn something new every day!) I am finding lovely peace in finding my way back into my routine. Loving my way back into "vertical". Stay warm and safe. If it makes you feel any better, it went 3 degrees below freezing here last night. Cold snap! Tim covered his "babies". (plants)
Love you. Time for me to get to tasks!
Nancy

No shoveling today!

Tuesday, January 11, 2011

YAY, it's stopped snowing...I don't have to shovel today! I'm not getting too excited though, we are expecting another 15 cm starting Thursday. Oh well, two days of rest and then more moving the body. With the temperatures that are being forecasted, I'm sure I'll be really moving my body...wind chill temps of minus 40 being predicted!

Today I have a short day at work. I only have to work about 3/4 of the day as I have an 11 am appointment at the bank. As I don't know how long it will take, I've requested the rest of the day off. Yay me. Now that our dollar is so good, it's a good time to go and get my money exchanged for our trip at the end of this month.

My positives:
Being able to take the time off from work that I need.
A break from shoveling snow today.
A chat with all three of our children yesterday.
A great night's sleep last night. Filled with lots of strange dreams, but a good sleep none the less.
I'm staying on track and have been increasing my "moving" of my body.
Finding time each day to just be.

Have a wonderful day, take the time to be good to yourself.

Hugs,
Wanda

Oh, WANDA, we're expecting 12 to 16 inches tomorrow...YUCK!...and I'm missing my old job when I could stay home to work there on sn*w days...Not this new job...We don't even get holidays off it seems, except for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Hugs! Stay warm!

Wanda you'll be getting a nice break from the snow when you arrive in Las Vegas. We are just getting light snow right now. I feel truly blessed that we don't get the snow like you do,lol, besides we don't have to shovel as the maintance guys take care of the sidewalks and they have a snow removal co. that takes care of the parking lot, so we are pretty lucky to live where we do. Glad yesterday is over with and I can move on to other more enjoyable things. Yes, I do notice that the ones that complain the most do the least. Enjoy your short work day.

Hugs,
Shirl

I'm very glad you are getting a shovel-break. You are supposed to rest between bouts of strength training. :-) I personally like the Cornish shovel, because it has a long handle, so you can plant it and lean on it for a break. LOL

How much is too much snow????

Monday, January 10, 2011

It had stopped snowing for a few hours yesterday...YAY, but this morning I look out and it's snowing again and has been for awhile as I'm going to have to start my day once again with a snow shovel in hand. Sigggghhhhh!
All I would like to know is....where is this global warming that people are talking about? It's snowing, not raining and the temperature this mornng is minus 17 with wind chill of minus 25!

Now on the plus side of all this whining...I am grateful for my nice warm house, a warm vehicle to drive to work in and a body that functions well enough for me to be able to shovel all this snow! I am moving my body towards a healthier one and I have the opportunity to breath in some oxygen without aid of a machine. Life is really very good, despite my whining *grin*

Garry did not get his deck shoveled off yesterday after all. We decided to brave the roads and go into the city to IKEA for a look around. I got my "lucky bamboo" shoots that I've been wanting to pick up for awhile and they look very nice in my "prosperity" area of my home.

My positives:
to add to the above list of gratefuls...I am blessed, I am loved, and I am learning and growing each day as I allow myself to be open to the lessons of the day.

Have a wonderful Motivated Monday.

Hugs,
Wanda

When does your spring arrive? Good job on staying positive even with all the snow and more to come. We are suppose to get it for the next three days, but don't know how much we are suppose to get. I am glad this day is almost over, the meeting was pretty stressful today, but it's over and done with and that's that. Stamp club was fun tonight, we made two really cute cards for valentine and next month we are doing a stack'n stamp with 10 variety cards, I ordered a heart punch tonight. Have a good evening.

Shirl

you have a prosperity area in your house? how nice!

well the snow should be tapering off but the cold is coming in, think I like the snow better than the cold if I have a choice.

O well I have allot of warm cloths and guess I'm gonna look like a big puffy marshmelllow in all my layers emoticon

Have a great sparks day wanda emoticon

To answer your question, from my perspective, 3 flakes! :) Now I remember...in all those plans in my youth to move to Canada, it was the sn*w that stopped me! :)

Be safe out there...We had 3 inches over the weekend but a blizzard is heading our way - expected to drop a foot or more...yikes.

Hugs!

Fortunately, it's not enough snow to dampen your spirits. I suppose I will invite Tim on a date to IKEA this upcoming weekend. I'll invite him to take me out to breakfast. Since it's 99 cents, he usually takes me up on it. Thanks for reminding me that we need to spend some simple, normal time together. It has been quite some time due to all the business with his brother. Time for me to change from the focus of doing without him. Love how your blogs help me along!
Love that connection! Have a great day. Stay warm and cozy. Thanks for the Monday Motivation.
Love,
Nancy

I guess if it is enough snow to thoroughly waterlog the ground and therefore stay on the surface when it melts and freezes every night, then it is too much, and we only had a foot or so all told. :-) I'm guessing therefore that you can definitely claim 'too much snow'! *g*
I do admire your continued determination to see the positive side.
I'm walking Sophie on ice at Highwoods. LOL
