Midway through the first week of the new year and being back at work and into a routine once again. Feels good! The big plus...it's payday!
It also looks like I will need to do a bit of shoveling this morning, so need to get things done here so that I get out the door to burn some calories soon. Not a lot of snow, but the vehicle is covered, which means that the driveway and sidewalk need to be cleared also.
I've got Kaeli and Garry's birthdays coming up this month, so need to put my thinking cap on as to what to surprise them with. I kinda know what I want to do for Garry as I've been saving and working towards this goal for several months now. Hopefully, I'll know today whether the friends I've invited to participate will be able to.
I'm loving the renewed commitment and energy that I have to staying on track towards my health goals.
I love all the words of the year that teammates have chosen...they are great ones and it will be great to see how they become a part of each persons life over this next year. If you haven't read them...take a look under the thread Words 2011.
The huge snowbank down the center of our street are finally removed....yay, I don't have to drive on the wrong side of the road to get out of my street.
Working on surprising Garry with a great birthday gift...at least I think it's great. I'm hoping to take him on a three day trip to Las Vegas. He's been wanting to go for a very long time. I've been saving for almost 2 years now, and if our friends will be joining us...this will be fun! I'm not telling him where we are going until we get to the airport and he won't know that friends are joining us!
Being blessed with life and the knowledge that if I want things to happen, I have to be willing to set the goal and work towards it.
Have a fantastic day, goals are possible, but first you have to make them.

Our street has finally been plowed, but we still have the lovely pile of snow down the center of the street. This means that in order for me to get out of my driveway, I have to drive down the wrong side of the street to the connecting road. It's not too bad for me at the hour I go to work as there is little to no traffic. When Garry heads to work though, that's a different story. We had hoped that they would be clearning the snow last evening, but no such luck. Oh well, it just means more creative driving until they do.
I stopped at the mail boxes to check for mail yesterday and to do so, meant that I was blocking any traffic wanting to get by me...but such is life. Only one vehicle came just as I was getting back into my truck, so he didn't have to wait but a couple of seconds.
I had a great day yesterday and looking forward to a great day today. A good sleep last night, leaves me feeling much more energized today. I got some stair work in for exercise again yesterday, as our swipe pass cards were not working again, which meant that when someone was arriving at work, I needed to head down two flights of stairs and let them in, then back up two flights of stairs. Great exercise!( there is a buzzer that you can ring with camera feed to our department...that's how we know there is someone wanting in)
The universe will get me exercising, even if I'm dragging my feet *grin*
A great sleep last night.
Pay day tomorrow...always a plus.
I'm remembering to work on my new habit each morning. This is now day 4 of 30!
My families health.
Waking up each morning with the knowledge that I am the creator of my day, if I don't like things...I can change them by changing my attitude. Great feeling of power.
Have a wonderful day, be the creator not just the participate in your own life.

And so we begin another new year working.
Roads are were very bad last night, so will drive to work this mornng with extreme caution. Hopefully in town won't be as bad as on the highways. Mind the time that I go to work, traffic is scarce anyway, so I won't have some person in a rush on my bumper.
I accomplished on of the weekly challenges yesterday. Roped Garry into helping me declutter. We got all the Christmas stuff stored away neatly, waiting for another year to make their appearance. We usually leave everything up until after Ukranian Christmas (this coming weekend), but we wanted to do it when both of us could get it done. Yay!
I'm working on creating my new habit each day, and working on being my own best friend...in other words, holding myself accountable to good health habits.
I'm very happy with all the response that we have gotten from teammates for the word of the year. It's exciting to see the words and even more exciting to imagine how their word incorporates into their life this year.
We don't seem to have any hot water this morning (suspect the water heater went out)...but I was first up, so got what hot water there was *grin*.
Although I did not have a very good sleep last night, I'm ready to go to work this morning.
It's great to know that there will be no credit card bills arriving. We gave up using credit cards over 10 years ago now and although a struggle at first, we are amazed at the freedom we have now and the available money. You tend to become a better shopper and impulse buying is a thing of the past. We do keep a credit card for emergencies only and we don't carry it with us. If used, it must be paid in full. Great way to live, highly recommend it.
Looking forward to what the day "reveals" to me and how I can learn and grow from/with it.
Have a wonderful day, be your own best friend.

I'm off to a great start this year with blogging...I had my blog all finished and instead of clicking on the "post blog entry" I clicked on the "x" to close it out! Hmmmm, either thinking is not my strong suit this morning, or guidance was letting me know that there was something not "right/ready" with my blog and that I needed to redo it. *grin*
Okay, so I'll start it again and see if I can remember or build on what needs to go in my blog!
We arrived home safe and sound yesterday, but can't say the same for at least one accident that we encountered on our way home. About 30 minutes from home we came across an accident that had just occured. The car was on it's roof in the snowed filled meridian between the north and south bound highways. The wheels were still turning on the car, so we knew it had just occured. We stopped as well as several other vehicles to offer assistance. Once we knew there was nothing further for us to do, we continued on our journey only to discover a vehicle that had driven straight off the road and into the ditch on our side of the highway about 600 metres up the road from the first accident. No injuries and they would require a tow truck to pull them out of the snow filled ditch. Needless to say the remainder of our journey was taken with extreme caution.
The wind had picked up and as it was blowing across the highways, it was freezing the water that warmer temps had melted on the road. The road had become very icy and because it was what we call "black ice" (not noticible to the eye...very dangerous), drivers were not being as aware of road conditions.
We always start any journey we make with prayer, so knew that we would arrive home safely as long as we paid attention to the warnings.
Kismet survived her first night of being left totally alone over night. We got the cold shoulder though for several hours. At bed time, she wasn't taking any chances of us disappearing and crawled up on the bed to spend the night. Very funny.
Yesterday was also my cousin birthday...she is a New Years baby.
I'm excited about a new year filled with opportunities to learn and grow.
I'm making adjustments in my life path...continuing to move forward in some areas and making temporary slow downs in others(it's that bumpy road that has been predicted*grin*).
I'm creating a new habit as per this week's challenge...I'm asking each day that whatever lesson that I need to work on be " revealed" and that I am aware of the lesson so that I can work on it. I'm incorporating my word of the year into my daily life.
I'm clearing clutter from one area of my home, also this week's challenge, to enable the energy to flow more freely.
Family, friends and God (all on an equal standing in my life...all important!)
Have a wonderful Serenity Sunday,

Short and sweet this morning....we are a bit later getting going than we had planned.
We had a wonderful time last evening with Garry's siblings and some other relatives that joined us. We are all getting together for brunch in a few minutes so need to run. Then we are heading back home.
Having a laptop!
Great time last night, visiting, playing cards, creating music and singing.
Roads that are great for travel.
Having at least one of our children with us last night.
It's time to go...wishing you all a very Happy and Prosperous New Year.
