New Year's Eve is here!

Friday, December 31, 2010

We are leaving around 1:00 this afternoon to Red Deer to spend the evening with my hubby's siblings. It will be nice to gather with them once again. Our son is coming along with us and bringing his guitar. Garry's brother plays also, so a jamming session is planned for this evening. Should be fun.
Shyra is going to pop over to our place and check on the cat and feed her for us. This will be a different experience for Kismet as she has never in all the years we've had been left over night all alone. She stresses very easily, so we are hoping that she handles it well. Guess we'll see.

My positives:
It's been a great year of learning and growing. The new year will hold many more lessons for me I'm sure.
It's almost 8am and I see that the sky is just beginning to show signs of dawn. YAY...the days are getting longer!
I'm blessed to have a team of fellow positives bloggers whom offer support and encouragement.
I'm blessed to have friends and family that love me and care about me.
I'm blessed to have a the opportunities that I have in my life.
I'm blessed to be alive.

Wishing you all a wonderful new year and much success and blessings. Happy New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, WANDA! Hope you have a fun-filled New Year's celebration!!

Kismet should do fine...tho' I always suggest that the person coming to feed kitties spend about 15 mins just playing/talking with her/them...That way they don't feel left behind!

Hugs and blessings for 2011!

Some light snow falling this morning, but so far not a need to get out there and do any shoveling. Perhaps it will quit and I won't have to do any!!

A change in my routine at work yesterday. Because there is money that needs to be spent before year end on materials, I got to go in store shopping for books. Gail and I headed over to the local Chapters store and had a grand time spending money. We spent $2100 on mostly children's materials. What a fun time. All the material that we purchased is for our bookmobile.
My selectors from Adult services headed out to a book store in the city and hadn't returned yet by the time I left work. I'm looking forward to seeing what they purchased in the city.
Gail's selector for Childrens services went to the city also and came back with just over $7500 worth of picture books. Now the fun begins with receiving all these items and preparing them for processing.

My positives:
Mauri, who has helped me out so much this year with challenges.Thank you Mauri for coming up with some great team goals.
We are heading to Red Deer tomorrow afternoon to spend New Years eve with Garry's siblings. I'll be taking my laptop with me and will try to stay in touch.
We should be back on Sunday.
So much to b e grateful for over this past year. I'm excited about what 2011 has to hold. Challenges met, some successfully and some I'm chalking up to great learning experiences. Nothing that has occured during this past year has been without a purpose.
My friends and family.
Life, we make it so complex and yet it really is just as simple as living it the best we can each day.

Have a wonderful day, see you all later.

Wanda - I am glad to see you and yours are doing well and enjoying the holidays - I'm hoping the 'whippersnapper' tomato seeds get to you without freezing! They were sent mid-December along with a few extras (lete know if they've not arrived in the first week so I can get another little package together) ... I planted them early last year and am going to be starting some peppers in late Jan so they get a good headstart for Spring.

I will hear in Jan if I'll be invited to submit a long proposal for Sabbatical leave (then it would be late April before we're told who gets it). I've been doing so much research on it that I already feel I've been and back.

Cheers for the New Year!

Wanda, a nice surprise to be find in your list of positives...but I've only done what we team members should be doing - participating, encouraging, and helping each other out as we traverse this journey.

I'm so JEALOUS of you - even if the books are for the bookmobile...Now THAT would be a contest I'd be happy to win...Have that much money to spend in a bookstore...I'm excited because I have a $30 Amazon gift ctf that I found while cleaning...and $40 in gift cards for Barnes & Noble (tho' I prefer the local stores). $70 for books! WOOHOO!!!

I am so looking forward to taking this journey for another year with you, Nancy, Lexie, Tina and all our team members. Hoping the new goals will give people something for which to strive this year. I believe if we treat our spirit, our care for our bodies will follow...hey, that may be today's blog...

Hugs and blessings and love!

I smiled when I read your blog because I got confirmation on my word choice for the year. Positive reinforcement! I have been spending my time searching for and scanning photos of my BIL to send to his wife as she prepares for the memorial service. He is still hanging in there and with a new wrinkle in the legal business, we are hoping that he hangs in there until 2011, at least for a minute or two. It's been a different holiday, but a good learning one for sure.

Have a safe journey and a great celebration. I look forward to traveling with you next year!

It was a regular routine day yesterday for me. Busy at work, relaxed at home, early to bed, early to rise....pretty boring huh!

Actually, if you toss in all the opportunities to talk to people, to smile, to give a hug, to just be an appreciative person...it wasn't boring at all.*grin*

I spent some time yesterday just thinking about others that I felt the need to offer a prayer for and be connected to people. It was a good day.

My Positives:

Wow... my mind is blank! the bonus side of that...I obviously have nothing to complain about or feel down about! Life is good.
I'm looking forward to celebrating New Years with Garry's siblings.
I'm looking forward to 2011 and all the surprises and joys that it will contain.
I'm grateful that we didn't have snow as predicted last night.
I'm grateful for all the blessings that I have in my life.
I'm grateful for SP and all that it allows me to learn and do.

Have a wonderfully blessed day.

Thank you for reminding me of all the opportunities I have on a daily basis to help make someone elses life a bit easier and the burden a bit lighter. A smile is free and so is a hug.

Much Love

Back to work today. As much as I have enjoyed being on my own schedule, it's also nice to get back into a routine of sorts.

Temperatures are still on the cold side, but at least there has been no snow fall. The eastern side of the country has been hit hard though. The news reports have certainly been giving us lots to be grateful for in our part of the country.

One more celebration to get through and then we can buckle down to getting back on track and moving forward towards our health goals.

My positives:
Something that most of us take for granted....heat!
My family and friends.
I've made it through the Christmas season mostly on track.
I've been able to keep the "goodies" out of the house for the most part, those that have come in have also gone out again with the kids.
A great evening last evening over at the girls...we watched "Despicable Me". A very cute movie.
A short work week for me as I have Friday off. We'll be heading to Red Deer then to bring in the New Year with Garry's siblings.

Have a wonderful day, get enthused about your life.

Wanda, bundle up! It's sn*w covered here and we are having 40 mph winds so lots of drifting. It's a new day...and there is something to be said for routines...if only my workday were routine! :)

Enjoy your day! Hugs and blessings.

One more weekend of celebration to get through and we are into a New year and starting the cycle all over again! This has been a very busy year and a very good one.

Christmas was wonderful at our house. All three of our children spent Christmas eve with us as well as coming over Christmas morning to open gifts together. They did head their separate ways later in the day, which was fine as they had commitments to attend Christmas celebrations with with their girl/boy friends families too. Garry and I enjoyed a very relaxed rest of Christmas day and then Shy and her boyfriend headed back to our home in the evening for some more visiting.

Boxing day saw us heading over to my oldest brothers for a quick visit and lunch and then back home again to enjoy the peace and quiet.
Garry needs to head into the office this morning, I get one more day off work. I'll catch up on some cleaning up and enjoy the day off work.

My Positives:
A great phone call from my middle brother.
A phone call from our Granddaughter.
A lovely Christmas with family.
No snow, so didn't have to do any shoveling.
We are heading to Red Deer at the end of this week for the New Year's weekend. We'll bring in the new year with Garry's siblings.
I had a lovely chat with our Nancy Jane.
I did not over indulge with calories...YAY!
I am blessed.

Have a wonderful day all, if you are heading back to work today, have a great day.

Sounds like you had a lovely Christmas with your family and enjoying your time off. My internet has not been working well, I am surprised to be able to get here today, but very glad. We had our family Christmas yesterday at youngest DD's in Paw Paw, MI. The weather turned out to be sunny and the roads were dry, always a good thing and even traffic wasn't too bad, we had a nice day with family. I am thinking about undecorating today. It's almost time to say goodbye to 2010 and greet a New Year, enjoy this last holiday of 2010.

    Good Morning Sunshine!
I am getting ready to usher in the New Year. I think I've been given my word for the year. I'm waiting until we get right on top of the year before I "reveal" it. I'm trying it on for size and discerning if this is from spirit or me forcing the issue. Time will tell. I tracked my food and I'm about to go to Macy's to return or exchange some gifts that Santa dropped off here. Enjoy your time off and I look forward to traveling a bit closer in the coming weeks!
Love to you and yours,

Wanda, sounds like a beautiful family Christmas! Enjoy your extra day off...and just in case you wonder where the sn*w is, it's here...at least 11 inches with more falling. So happy to have this week off work!
