I'm off to a great start this year with blogging...I had my blog all finished and instead of clicking on the "post blog entry" I clicked on the "x" to close it out! Hmmmm, either thinking is not my strong suit this morning, or guidance was letting me know that there was something not "right/ready" with my blog and that I needed to redo it. *grin*
Okay, so I'll start it again and see if I can remember or build on what needs to go in my blog!
We arrived home safe and sound yesterday, but can't say the same for at least one accident that we encountered on our way home. About 30 minutes from home we came across an accident that had just occured. The car was on it's roof in the snowed filled meridian between the north and south bound highways. The wheels were still turning on the car, so we knew it had just occured. We stopped as well as several other vehicles to offer assistance. Once we knew there was nothing further for us to do, we continued on our journey only to discover a vehicle that had driven straight off the road and into the ditch on our side of the highway about 600 metres up the road from the first accident. No injuries and they would require a tow truck to pull them out of the snow filled ditch. Needless to say the remainder of our journey was taken with extreme caution.
The wind had picked up and as it was blowing across the highways, it was freezing the water that warmer temps had melted on the road. The road had become very icy and because it was what we call "black ice" (not noticible to the eye...very dangerous), drivers were not being as aware of road conditions.
We always start any journey we make with prayer, so knew that we would arrive home safely as long as we paid attention to the warnings.
Kismet survived her first night of being left totally alone over night. We got the cold shoulder though for several hours. At bed time, she wasn't taking any chances of us disappearing and crawled up on the bed to spend the night. Very funny.
Yesterday was also my cousin birthday...she is a New Years baby.
I'm excited about a new year filled with opportunities to learn and grow.
I'm making adjustments in my life path...continuing to move forward in some areas and making temporary slow downs in others(it's that bumpy road that has been predicted*grin*).
I'm creating a new habit as per this week's challenge...I'm asking each day that whatever lesson that I need to work on be " revealed" and that I am aware of the lesson so that I can work on it. I'm incorporating my word of the year into my daily life.
I'm clearing clutter from one area of my home, also this week's challenge, to enable the energy to flow more freely.
Family, friends and God (all on an equal standing in my life...all important!)
Have a wonderful Serenity Sunday,
