I survived my trip to the dentist yesterday. I have such a great dentist. He knew just how terrified I was of having the work done and worked very hard at making it the best possible experience for me. I've had some very horrible experiences at dental offices growing up that have left some deep emotional scars. So despite the deep seated fear, some tears, some being sick, I didn't cancel my appointment. Dr. Ohuchi was very understanding and took the time to talk to me, keep a conversation going with his assistant the whole time to help me stay distracted. He froze by so well that it took most of the day for the freezing to leave...I'm okay with that, cause it meant that I didn't feel anything. The only thing that was hard and hurt was having my mouth open for so long. My jaw joints ached so bad after, that it even hurt to close my mouth finally.
I now have "pretty" teeth, according to my dentist. The ugly old metal fillings in two teeth are no longer there and they are re-filled with white composite. Those old fillings, we figured had to have been close to 40 years old and were long past due being replaced. So now, I'm good to go for the rest of my life! lol

I got my Must-do Monday challenge accomplished. Parcel is mailed and the post office assures me it will arrive in time for Christmas. YAY.

My positives:
Having the day off yesterday to go to the dentist and not have to head in to work with a frozen mouth.
My Christmas parcel to our granddaughter is in the mail.
It's our department Christmas lunch today...should be fun.
I'm blessed with a warm home, a warm vehicle to get to work in, food on my table and the money to pay my bills.
I'm blessed also with a dental staff that is caring and kind.
Recognizing that I am blessed.
God in my life.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit. Take the time today to recognize your blessings.

I understand the dentist fear only too well, and still put up with a lot of pain before finally giving in and going to see the dentist myself. A bad experience as a child did for me. :-)
Well done for overcoming it and going so you can have 'pretty teeth'. :-)

Nice! Pretty teeth! I'm going to need some pretty teeth before long. I, too, have fillings the approximate age of your old ones. Tim is still in Oklahoma. His brother gets weaker by the day. Hospice is supposed to be making a visit tomorrow. I took work for the rest of the week with the Special Ed. Pre-K. When they call me, it's hard to refuse. School is finished on Friday until the 3rd of January. Just three more days. It will be nice to have some extra pay to fund the holidays. Sounds like you are perking along with your holiday plans. I'll catch up before too long. You are setting a fine example for me. I started sparking when I had no work, so I haven't figured out how to do it all. I'll get there someday. Love you! Enjoy your evening.

So many nice positives, including your recollection of your dentist visit! That's the spirit of positivism, yes, indeed. A heart of gratitude is a joyful heart. Have a great Tuesday!

I'm spending part of my day off today visiting my dentist! Aren't I nice???
I need to go in for some restoration work this morning. It's been many years since I've had to have anything other than a cleaning done. On my last visit, my dentist informed me that it was now time to do some restoration work. Two very old fillings need to be replaced. The fillings have been there for a good 40 years, and although they have held up well, they are showing signs of loosening. Not my favorite way to spend my time, but I need to do what must be done.
Also on my agenda for today is to get my granddaughter's Christmas parcel in the mail.

My Positives:

I've completed my online course. YAY me!
Once I get Shavon's parcel mailed...my out of town parcels are done.
Tomorrow is our staff department Christmas lunch...should be fun.
Shyra's birthday this weekend as well as our staff Christmas gathering.
Garry's brother's birthday on Sunday also.
A busy week...but filled with fun activities.
Won $7.00 and a free play on my Lotto tickets *grin* I'm getting closer to the big win*grin*
I'm claiming a positive filled day.

Have a wonderful day, thanks for stopping by.

What a great start to my spark day...50 points on the wheel. Woo Hoo!
It's still very dark outside and it's almost 8am. We are winding down to the shortest day of the year Dec 21...then the days begin to get longer. YAY...more daylight!

Kaeli and I had a lovely mother/daughter lunch out yesterday. We were going to go into the city and do some shopping but our day got started late and the roads were not so good, so made a change of plans. We had a lovely time just chatting.

My massage in the morning was wonderful. Wendy did some cranial massage on me to see if she couldn't help with some pain. For the past couple of weeks when ever I would lower my head bending over...I would get major pain in my head...felt like my head was going to explode. Must have been a pinched nerve somewhere. God Bless Wendy's magically talent...I'm much better today!

My Positives:
Time with my eldest yesterday.
Our son's birthday yesterday...what a great time doing a memory trip back over the years that he have had with him.
Our youngest birthday to look forward to on the 18th.
My Christmas shopping is coming along.
Got all the gifts that need to be mailed all wrapped. I just need to pack them and ship on Monday.
Garry and I are spending the day together today...doing a little shopping and relaxing.
All the bills are paid.
I'm alive and well as are my family. Even Garry's dad is hanging in there. We hope to get the catch during the Christmas season to get to see his parents.
I am blessed in so many ways. Thank you God.

Have a wonderful day, be a blessing in the lives of those you touch.

We celebrated our son's birthday last evening at our home. We had six young people over to share the dinner with us. We had such a great time. Around 10pm the young ones all headed over to Q's sisters place to continue their party as these old folks were showing signs of being tired! lol
Officially today is Q's 27th birthday. How blessed we are that all of our children and their friends still want to gather at "the parents" place and have fun. The same group plus a couple more are coming back next Friday to help celebrate Shy's birthday. Her birthday is actually the 18 (one week after Q's) but she and her boyfriend have tickets to a concert that evening.
It's hard to believe that my baby will be 23! It's always been a rule in our house that the birthday person gets to choose what they want served for dinner...Shy is so funny....all she wants is "Hashbrown casserole"...so hashbrown casserole it will be...I'm planning on throwing in a salad or two also!

My Positives:
We have three of the great young adults as our children.
Celebrating the birth of my son today.
Got 25 points on the wheel this morning woo hoo!
It's massage day today....YAY!
No snow shoveling ....at least at the moment!
Some great pictures taken last night...fun times.
It's the weekend and I am planning on getting all my Christmas parcels that need to be mailed sent!

Have a wonderful Silly Saturday...smile, laugh and have fun with your life. Life should be enjoyed.

And the snow continues....

Friday, December 10, 2010

It's Fabulous Friday and the shoveling continues. We must have a good foot of snow out there again this morning. Burning calories time...if I want to go to work! hmmmm do I want to go to work! *grin*

I'm looking forward to the weekend. Time to celebrate our son's birthday, time to wrap some parcels, time to get some parcels mailed. Might even find the time to do a Christmas letter, although for the past few years it ends up being a New Year's letter. Basically, this weekend will be a time to connect with my loved ones. YAY!

My positives:
It's Friday, my favorite day of the week.
I get to burn calories shoveling snow once again.
I woke up feeling great.
I have a nice warm vehicle that gets me to and from work safely.
I work with a great bunch of people.
I fulfilled my duty as Safety Coordinator at work, I held my last meeting yesterday and happily handed the reigns over to someone else. Eight years, it was time for someone else to take it on.
I am blessed in so many ways.

Have a wonderful and fabulous Friday. Keep a smile on your face, if nothing else, it makes people wonder what you are up to.

Yes, snow arrived last night, but almost all melted by the end of the day, but, yes there's a but we have more on the way, oh hooray, lol, well tis the season, right. You can find the oreo truffle recipe on allrecipes.com, I may make one more batch with a different flavored cookie as they disappear quickly. We aren't having a big gathering next Sat. maybe 20-30 people, it'll depend a lot on the weather too, but you just take your chances this time of year when you plan things. Have a wonderful weekend, tomorrow is our ladies brunch from church here and we reveal who is our secret sister, I am making a breakfast bake that you put together the night before and then bake in the morning.
