It's a snow shoveling day today!

Thursday, December 09, 2010

I'm eating my warm bowl of porridge this morning as I'm going to need the fuel in my body once I hit the outdoors. It's been snowing most of the night and it's calorie burning time before I even get out of the driveway!
It doesn't look like there is much of a wind blowing though, so that will make the job a bit easier.

Payday yesterday...YAY...I will finish up the Christmas shopping this weekend and then get busy wrapping and shipping things. We'll celebrate Q's birthday on Saturday, with him if he doesn't go skiiing, without him if he does *grin*

My positives:
I get to burn calories this morning, just the perfect thing for eliminating weight!
Payday yesterday and that means all the bills will get paid today and the shopping and shipping that is left to do will get done this weekend.
It's massage Saturday this Saturday. Looking forward to Wendy's hands working on some kinks.
A lovely supper out with my hubby last evening. We went to Boston Pizza, me for their Baja salad... without what passes for meat, and Garry had his Brute sandwich. A nice chance to catch up on each others day.
Family, friends and being alive.

Have a wonderful Thursday...I'm out the door to do some shoveling. If I don't return, send someone out to look in the snowbanks, I might be snowed in! *grin*

Hugs,
Wanda

Wanda, thank you for taking all that sn*w...yuck. They say we may have some tomorrow night...hoping it's AFTER I get home from seeing "Coppelia," with my 27 yo co-worker who has the walk-on role of the Burgermeister.

Happy payday! Hugs.

Half way through the week already and into the second week of the month.
I'll be chairing my last meeting tomorrow as Safety Coordinator at work, passing the responsibilities on to someone else. After eight years, it's someone else's turn. I'm looking forward to being a mentor only. I've also been able to keep from being on any committees at work next year, which is a very good thing for me. I am working on loosening the apron strings at work.

Temperatures are still in the minus double digits, with snow predicted for Friday, but then things are supposed to warm up a bit. I don't mind the temperatures as long as the wind isn't blowing...that's what makes it really cold!
Winter has definitely been making itself known across the country.

My Positives:
Half way through a work week.
I'm happy and at peace.
My needs are being met and I'm working on my wants. *grin*
My family and friends...they all make life so rich. Thank you.

Have a wonderful day, thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Hugs,
Wanda

Back to work today and busy as usual.

I had a wonderfully productive day at home yesterday. I got all my floors washed, all the baseboards washed, all the doors washed. Even pulled the fridge and stove out and cleaned under them. Headed out for some groceries, then back home to discover that my two parcels that I've been waiting on had arrived. YAY! Then Shy phoned to ask if I would meet her at her lunch hour. So back to town I went. We skuttled around doing some of her Christmas shopping and then I dropped her back at work. Back home to finally sit down and get my online course work done. A very productive day indeed.

My Positives:

My floors are lovely and clean. I never feel they are really clean until I can get down on my hands and knees and scrub them. Weird...I know!
Quin's birthday this Saturday, and I have his birthday and Christmas stuff all in place... go me! Now I have to concentrate on Shy's!
I'm thrilled with my two online purchases that I made. They are perfect.
Life...we are so blessed.

Have a wonderful day, keep moving forward, keep a grateful heart and attitude.

Hugs,
Wanda

I am unable to get down on the floor because of my knees...2 knee replacements and dr said don't kneel....or I might need surgery again. I have to hire people to scrub my kitchen and bathroom. Rest of the house is carpeting except my bedroom and office. My daughter used to be my housecleaner (for a fee) but she is now 1000 miles away in Montana and I miss her for that but so many other reasons.

Thanks for your comment on my blog re AMD. Both of my older sister had this and one of them died just a week ago who went blind suddenly so I am sitting on pins and needles until I get some treatment .....

Unfortunately, my husband's Alzheimer's is not so good and I don't think he realizes how serious this is. I am hoping I will be able to drive at least until I retire...and Lord knows when that will be. Right now we are getting by with my nice paychecks but if I need to retire our combined social security won't go far. We have our own home which we should be able to sell but I was holding out for the market to improve a bit and actually sales have been slipping lately so it could be awhile.

It's Motivation Monday once again and today, although I don't have to go in to work this day, I will not let the day go by without being motivated and busy.
It's time to get all my floors washed. I never feel like my floors are clean unless I get down on my hands and knees and wash them. I have one of those spray swifter things that I use for quick clean ups, but to know that my floors are really clean...than means the full deal! *grin*
I'll make a run to the grocery store also today as well as get a crock-pot of veggie stew cooking. I might even get a quick trip into the city for some shopping or at least window shopping. We'll see how the day goes. As long as I'm moving, that is the main thing.

My positives:
I don't have to go in to work today.
By the end of the day, my floors will be clean to my standards.
I'm alive and my body is looking forward to moving.
I had a great sleep last night, so feeling rested and ready to face the day.
Healthy meal planned for supper tonight.
Blessed with another day of life.

Have a wonderful Motivation Monday. Use this gift of today to treat your body with movement.

Hugs,
Wanda

My motivation is going towards grocery shopping...yuck....but it needs get done!

Nothing like giving the floor an old fashioned washing! When I was a kid, I LOVED washing the floor with a scrub brush...and then waxing it by hand...Now that I'm old...well...

Have a great Monday!

What a lovely day yesterday. Garry had the most of the day off work, so we headed out to Costco, then over to the AMA offices, where we picked up an AMA membership for Q for his birthday. We then headed off to the Petro Can gas station to pick up a gift card for gas to go along with Q's gift. Yay, his birthday stuff is all complete.
Next we headed out to enjoy the Festival of the Trees display. There was a lovely tree all decorated in a Dr.Seuss theme and produced by the Elk Island School board. I loved the whimsy of it and all the bright colors. A perfect kids tree. From there we headed off to Canadian Tire to see if they had any of the outdoor lights Garry was wanting. One of the strands of lights he put up on the house isn't working so he wanted to replace it. Yay, found some as well as Garry found what he wanted to get Q for Christmas. We draw names at Christmas and he has Q's name this year. Shopping for Q is complete, birthday and all.
It was a fun day and a good day for getting things accomplished.

My Positives:
All the shopping for Q's birthday and Christmas is complete.
All the shopping for Kaeli for Christmas is complete, just her birthday to do.
Shopping for Shy's birthday is complete. Now I can concentrate of Christmas for her.
A beautiful sunny day yesterday and more of the same expected for today.
I'm half way through my course.
Garry's week at work was very busy, which tanslates into, he made some money! *grin*
Today is a relaxing day and will be spent with a good book.
The blessings that I and my family receive each and every day.

Have a wonderful day, recharge, rejoice and be happy.

Hugs,
Wanda

I'd love to get a look at that Dr. Seuss tree. I'm reading an adapted Dr. Seuss poem at Bryony's wedding, so I'm interested in anything Seuss-related. LOL
Hugs,
