The house is all decorated now and ready for the Christmas season. Garry got the rest of the lights up outside and then brought the tree up stairs and I set to get the inside of the house all decorated.
We decided to go a bit lighter on the decorations this year. The house stills looks very Christmasy! I'm going to have to go through all the boxes and containers of decorations that I have and decide if there are items that I no longer need. I'm thinking that the kids might like some of the things.

I'm hoping that my online shopping items arrive this week, as one of them I need to wrap and get sent on it's way to our granddaughter. Today, I will head out on the hunt for her Christmas ornament for this year. I've purchased her an ornamant every year since she was born.

My positives:
Time today to get some ornament shopping in.
My house is all decorated and ready for Christmas.
The weather is still lovely and mild.
Only 23 more days until the days begin to get longer again!
Waking up...means I have been blessed with another day of life!
My children and my husband.
My friends on SP who brighten my day just by being here.

Thank you for stopping by,
Hugs,
Wanda

Sounds like you are ready for the season. I decorate, but not as much as I use to, what with being in an apartment you only have so much room, I like it more simple, my favorite decorations I put out are a nativity set that belonged to my parents, and a ceramic tree that a dear friend made for me that has passed away. I haven't gotten my exchange cards made yet for Dec. 13 and our stamp club potluck, I've got to get going on them and then Dec. 18 will be here before I know it, oh well, it'll all get done. Have a wonderful week.

November is winding down!

Sunday, November 28, 2010

Hard to believe that this year has only one month left in it. Less that one month to Christmas!

The girls and I enjoyed our partial tour of Christmas in the Heartland. We decided to drive ourselves as we got a late start and knew we wanted to head into a craft sale in the city. It was fun. One of the display points had an incredible display of nativity sets. Many from different parts of the world and some so tiny that the entire scene fit in a small ring box. Most of them belong to one collector and are very lovely. There was one by Thomas P. Schmulz called "A Quiet Moment" that was very beautiful and really spoke to my heart. I'm going to search online and see if he has more to admire.

It was a beautiful day yesterday, the sun was shining and the temperature was sitting at only -3. Garry got many of the outside Christmas lights up and his big outdoor tree decorated. Guess I had better look to getting the inside of the house decorated today! *grin*

My Positives:
Time spent with my girls.
Some of my Christmas shopping is complete...now it's remembering was that supposed to be a birthday present or for Christmas! lol
I'm still enjoying my online course and learning to embrace and believe in what I want for my life.
Being very blessed.
20 points on the wheel this morning...woo hoo!

Thank you for stopping by for a visit. Have a wonderful Sunday.

Hugs,
Wanda

A pleasant serene Sunday to you Wanda! I came to the computer to see about some Christmas shopping this morning. I'm going to spend some time this morning getting my sparking ready for the last month of the year. Time to redouble my efforts. After 3 birthday celebrations and a Thanksgiving feast, that uncomfortable feeling speaks to me: "Nancy. . .really?" Time for a paradigm shift.
Enjoy your Christmasy weather. One of the treats of our travel was the aftereffects of a Thanksgiving ice storm. As we traveled home on Friday, with the sun coming up, we were treated to a Winter Wonderland of crystal trees and sparkling frost. That was a real treat, especially because the roads were clear!
Have a great Sunday and a wonderful week.
Love,
Nancy

Christmas season is officially here!

Saturday, November 27, 2010

America's Thanksgiving is over, Macy's parade is over, Black Friday advertising is over, Christmas decorations are up everywhere and yesterday driving home from work...the radio was playing Christmas music! *grin* Yep, it's officially the "Season of spend".

Today the girls and I are heading out on the Heartland Christmas tour. In other words we drive around the county to 8 different sites that are promoting Christmas activities and Christmas crafts/shopping items. Should be fun. I'm just waiting now for the girls to phone to let me know that they are up and ready to go. Garry was going to come, but he has a client appointment at 11am.

Went for my dental cleaning yesterday and my dentist has informed me that it is time to do some restoration work. A couple of fillings that I have had for far too many years (you know the orginally filling material from the dinosaur age) are in dire need of being replaced. So back I will go on Dec 13 to have that taken care of. Although he assures me that they will look pretty when he is done...in other words white, not metal, just the thought of that drill has me quaking.

My positives:
A day to spend with my girls.
A chat with my son last evening.
A dentist who cares.
Having coverage to see the dentist!
Christmas season is officially here, I can now sing Christmas carols without people looking at me weird ( okay, so they still look at me weird, but it's as a result of me singing, not the carols!)
A wonderful conversation last evening with Garry about future happenings.
Being alive.

Have a wonderful Silly Saturday, make laughter a part of your day.

Hugs,
Wan da

I don't know anyone who really likes visiting the dentist, even though it's necessary, I am lucky, I just go twice a year for cleanning. Enjoy your girl time. Have a great weekend.

Spring?....is that you?

Friday, November 26, 2010

Seriously, I think we live in the strangest weather pattern zone possible. Two days ago, we were the third coldest place on earth...only slightly warmer than the planet Mars! Yesterday, we had temperatures that were plus 2! Melting snow! It is supposed to get up to plus 5 today, drop down to minus 6 for the Greycup game on Sunday and by Tuesday back up to plus 5.
How do I dress, hmmmmm.

My Positives:
Beautiful warm and sunny day yesterday. (of course warm is relative terms *grin*)
Kaeli is picking up some extra hours working at the library, starting today. She snagged a position of 10.5 hours a week. It works out perfectly in conjunction with her full-time job.
I ordered a top online, which I will have to send back due to the fact that it is "TOO BIG".
It's Fabulous Friday!
Tomorrow the girls and I are going to take in the Christmas Heartland tour. We'll be touring around the county and taking part in some Christmas activities.
I have a lovely fruit salad for my lunch today.
I'm staying positive!
Celebrating being alive!

Have a fantastic day today. Count your blessings and be excited about living.

Hugs,
Wanda

Cold north wind chill over here, and the bird table was completely frozen over. The mud at Highwoods is also solid where the sun can't reach. The sky is blue and the clouds are Froudian (my name for those whispy cirrus that have a look of some of the cards in the Faeries' Oracle). :-)
Quite a beautiful day! :-)
Have a Fab Friday!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thursday, November 25, 2010

Happy Thanksgiving to our American neighbors! May your day be filled with blessings and thanks.

We have such bizzare weather here. After being in the deep freeze for the past couple of days, today we are supposed to get up to zero! Not that I'm complaining. It's snowing lightly out right now, so will need to do some shoveling once again. Calorie burning time!

Not much happening, just the usual day to day living. Busy at work and grateful.

My positives:

Warmer temperatures.
Burning calories with shoveling snow.
One more Christmas gift has been purchased, just waiting for it to be shipped.
A Saturday shopping date with my eldest to look forward to.
Having a positive attitude.
God in my life, who continues to bless me and keep me safe.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving to those that are celebrating it. For those of us who have already celebrated it in October or don't celebrate it...have a wonderful day none the less.

Hugs,
Wanda
