Happy Thanksgiving!

Thursday, November 25, 2010

Happy Thanksgiving to our American neighbors! May your day be filled with blessings and thanks.

We have such bizzare weather here. After being in the deep freeze for the past couple of days, today we are supposed to get up to zero! Not that I'm complaining. It's snowing lightly out right now, so will need to do some shoveling once again. Calorie burning time!

Not much happening, just the usual day to day living. Busy at work and grateful.

My positives:

Warmer temperatures.
Burning calories with shoveling snow.
One more Christmas gift has been purchased, just waiting for it to be shipped.
A Saturday shopping date with my eldest to look forward to.
Having a positive attitude.
God in my life, who continues to bless me and keep me safe.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving to those that are celebrating it. For those of us who have already celebrated it in October or don't celebrate it...have a wonderful day none the less.

Hugs,
Wanda

Happy Hump Day!

Wednesday, November 24, 2010

It's Wednesday already, YAY! It's also pay day for me, bigger YAY!

We survived the frigid cold here yesterday, the International Airport in Edmonton registered a balmy minus 46 at one point during the day. We were apparently the 3rd coldest place on earth yesterday. All I can say is "Thank you Lord that weren't number one!"

Another busy day ahead of me at work today. I'm attempting to get as many of the orders in as possible in hopes that they will get delivered before year end. That is always a juggling act at this time of the year. Makes the job interesting.

My Positives:
It is supposed to be somewhat warmer out today! (*grin*)
It's payday.
Garry is busy at work, which translates into ...he is making money.
Had contact with a cousin of Garry's yesterday on facebook. We haven't seen her for many years, so was very nice to once again reconnect.
Plans are in the works for all of Garry's siblings to get together for New Year eve. That should be fun.
Being alive and be very blessed.

Have a wonderful day, be your own best friend.

Hugs,
Wanda

We do have a lot more to be thankful for than we realize. Just being with family and friends during the holidays is a thankful state of being. Have a good day and Keep Sparking. emoticon

And I thought yesterday was cold!

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Okay, honestly, a normal person would stay snug in bed under warm covers today...I on the other hand must get up and brave the -40 temperature today! Yikes! I need to start my vehicle and let it really warm up as well as most likely start it a couple of times during the day to ensure that it will get me back home after work. Thank you God that Garry was able to get a remote starter installed in my vehicle last week.

According to the news last night, eastern Canada was experiencing +13 temperatures yesterday while we were -35....what a bizzare country we live in!All I'm saying is "heads up" eastern Canada...this is coming your way!

My positives:

My remote starter in my vehicle.
A furnace that is working hard at keeping my home warm and comfortable.
Warm mittens and coat.
A husband who just goes along with my feng shui money cures without question...okay, so the eyebrows do raise, but he still goes along *grin*
One more Christmas gift on order.
Being so incredible blessed in so many ways.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit. Grab a cup of nice hot green tea to warm yourself up after visiting the frigid temperatures in my part of the woods!
(either that, or leave some of your warm tempertures behind after you've visited*grin*)

Have a wonderful Tuesday,
Hugs,
Wanda

Monday, Monday...

Monday, November 22, 2010

I get to start my week off a little less rushed. I have the next few Mondays off as I try to use up some of my overtime before year end. Yay...a 4 day work week, something I haven't had for many years!

There is shoveling to do this morning though before Garry leaves for work. I'll get out there and help him in a few minutes.

Today, I am going to head out to do some errands that I left off doing on the weekend. But will likely spend most of the day indoors where it is warmer.

My positives:
Yay...having Monday's off until the end of the year...gives me a lovely 3 day weekend ...now is that great or what!
Many little Christmas gifts purchased and waiting now to be wrapped.
An opportunity to head to Costco when it's not busy and get printer ink. I'll then be able to print out some documents that I need to study.
So many things to be grateful for...a warm home, a warm bed, warm clothes, a warm vehicle that gets me about, food on our table. People that care about me. Yep, I'd consider that pretty blessed.

Have a wonderful day. Is there someone in your neighborhood that could do a random act of kindness for today?

Hugs,
Wanda

I can't believe the temperature can even go that low - 35C ... hope it warms up a bit for your foray back into work tomorrow! Glad you've been able to take some strategic time off! Congrats.

Nov 21

Sunday, November 21, 2010

Shyra and I had a wonderful day yesterday. I picked her up around 9:30 am and we headed into the city. We had so much fun shopping and looking and giggling together.
She found her outfit that she was looking for, in fact she found two outfits that are amazing on her. She couldn't decide between them, so bit the bullet and bought both. We had a young sales person helping us, who was absolutely fantastic with his eye for fashion and knowing what would look great on her. One of the dresses had absolutely no hanger appeal, we had walked by it and thought yuck, but he insisted that she try it on. WOW...it looked fantastic on. Now she is on the hunt for shoes as the ones that she used at the store were too big and they didn't have her size. They were perfect though, so she is off today to see if one of the other stores has her size.
Next we headed to buy Quin a birthday gift. We hit the right store at the right time. The shirt that I found for him, was on sale 30% off and then when I got to the till to pay, they were having a Saturday shoppers only special and I opened a sealed card that gave me an additional 3o%off! Woo Hoo.
We were on a roll. The rest of the day was just as good. We found some great bargains and now I'm excited about giving them at Christmas.
We stopped at Red Robin for a late lunch before heading back home. Shyra had her burger and I had a salad. Figured, I've been doing lots of walking, I might as well make sure the calories are low too!
Once we got home, we stopped at Urban Barn to see about some cushions Kaeli had mentioned that she would love to have....Yay, they had them in stock, so picked up those.
Today, Garry and I are going to head out and do some shopping(actually probably just looking, but it means more exercise and that is what my focus is on today!)

My Positives:

A wonderful day spent with Shyra yesterday. Arrangements are made to spend next Saturday with Kaeli. Usually we all go together, but it's Christmas /Birthday shopping time, so we need to be sneakier.*grin*
A start has been made on gift buying. The "season of spending" has started. lol
Day six into my course and still really enjoying it. Yay Me!
I've stepped up my exercise and feeling better about the amount that I'm doing.
Funny how I find it easier to exercise in the winter months than in the summer...I 'm more dedicated to it!
Being so blessed each day. Positive affirmations really do work.

Have a wonderful Serenity Sunday. Find your focus and dedicate your day to it.

Hugs,
Wanda
