Weekends just seem to go by too fast! It's a new work week and a new day, so will make the most of it.

Yesterday was a very pleasant day spent with my hubby. We headed out to Costco and did some shopping for much needed supplies and then headed to the the two local greenhouses to admire all the Christmas trees with their beautiful decorations. We are looking for a new Christmas tree to replace our 20 some year old white artificial one that we have as it's looking a little tired. We want another white one, but they don't seem to be making them anymore. We did find a nice one that has the lights already on it, but not interested in paying the price that they want for it. We did write down the number of it and perhaps if we don't find something else this year, we'll see if it might be on sale after Christmas.
Hard to imagine that Christmas is only 7 weeks away! I need to get busy and get some Christmas creating done.

My Positives:
A lovely lazy weekend.
A new day and week to look forward to.
Spent some time this weekend thinking about Christmas and getting that little spark of creativity going.
No snow.
Stood up for what I believe was the right thing to do yesterday even though I knew it would not be popular. I'm sure that there will be fall out still to come, but I have no regrets. I will allow God to be the judge and jury and not man. My words may very well bring to an end a many years long friendship but by saying nothing, I was in fact condoning what was being said. I will let go and let God.
How far I have come in my emotional and spiritual growth and the journey will still continue.
Being so blessed.

Have a wonderful day, thanks for stopping by for a visit.

You might also want to check out flea markets, thrift stores, etc. for trees. In my main upstairs hallway (my hall is really wide) I group 3 white trees that, by themselves, might be alittle tired around the needles. However, when they are decorated and grouped (they are different heights) they really look great. So sometimes you can still get some life out of something that has seen better Christmases.

I so enjoy visiting your blogs, they are so down to earth and real and practical, alot like Joyce Meyer. Yes, it is so much better to please the Lord and do what Holy Spirit leads you to do. You have to be true to yourself and the Lord, you just cannt allow yourself to sell out, it is hard to live with. When I do something that goes against what the Lord wants me to do I have turmoil all day long in my mind and heart and cannot get a thing done until I go back and do what I was supposed to do by the leading of Mr. Holy Spirit. Yes, Christmas is comeing, I love it. I sure do hope you can get what you want in a tree. I am sure you will. The Lord will arrange something to come your way to please you in the name of Jesus. Enjoy your Monday all the way. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Serenity Sunday and all is well

Sunday, November 07, 2010

Time change took place at 2am this morning. We fall back an hour. I wish they would stop playing with the time and just leave it alone. It began as a way of keeping train schedules and saving on electricity in the evenings. Today this no longer has any bearing.
People are working around the clock now, they are staying up later, there are more "appliances" operating...there is no longer any "saving" of electricity by changing the time. Statistics show that there is a large increase in accidents occuring in the spring when people lose the hour by springing ahead. The loss of that hours sleep greatly affects the population. It would be nice if all of Canada worked on the same schedule. Some provinces do the time change and some don't. Siggghhhh! I just know it messes with my body and sleep.

My positives:
No snow, although the temperatures are dropping.
A quiet and peaceful day yesterday. Garry ended up being called into work, so we didn't have our day together, but I still had a nice day.
Garry and I went out for supper last night...I had a lovely salad and we shared a cheesecake mousse for dessert.
I'm making a crockpot of potato soup for dinner tonight as well as making a meat loaf for Garry to take for lunches during the week.
A pleasant and chore absent day ahead of me today.
Being alive.

Have a wonderful day, take the time to enjoy the quiet moments.

I can never remember which is considered the 'proper' time.
Time to split the difference and then call it a day in my view. :-)

Which is the real time? Are we in normal time now? This is the time that my body likes. It's that Spring thing that messes me up. I don't like losing an hour. AND why did they change the changing schedule by a week? It used to always be the weekend of my birthday. Many a birthday I had an extra hour to celebrate! What gives? Anyway. I'm a follower. I just do as I'm told. Mine is not to question why, mine is but to do or die. I know that I'll adjust to this time well. I just took a job for M-Th full time. So it will be a busy week of Pre-K shananigans. I didn't work last week so, Mama needs some dough! It will be a busy week, but I've got today to prepare. Nice blessing.
Have a wonderful Sunday. Stay warm.

I agree Wanda, this time change really should stop. It does mess with the human body and I did not know all this history or stats to do with the time change. Anyways, even though you had a change of plans yesterday you did not let that upset you are get you down, you still had a postivie outlook and great attitude and just rode along with the changes and still had a great day and evening. Isnt that wonderful? Just being able to enjoy life and living for all its worth just one day at a time and one step at a time no matter what obstacles or disruptions cause changes in our plans, and I know you are having just a great Sunday. Enjoy emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Wanda, I totally agree with you. Same goes for the U.S. Even crazier is that we cannot use the auto time changer on VCRs, etc because they are programmer for earlier in October...the original time changing weekend.

As for me, it just means I awaken T 2:30 AM instead of 3:30 PM! :)

Have a serene Sunday! Hugs and blessings.

I'm operating in "slow" mode today. I managed to sleep in until 7:30 am and now I feel really lazy!

Nothing much to say this morning, other than Garry has the day off today also and we plan on just hanging out together. Might take some time and stop over at the girls for a wee visit, possibly even at Quin's if we feel up to heading into the city.

I'v got one load of laundry complete, two more to go, a kitchen counter that needs tidying up and I'm good to go.

My positives:
Garry and I have the day together.
No plans, so it's a whatever comes our way sort of day.
Having my children living so close by that we can get together often.
No snow, although the temperatures are dropping rapidly to the minus side of things, no snow is predicted.
Being alive to enjoy the treasures that each day holds.

Have a wonderful Silly Saturday, remember to share your smiles and laughter with others. Brighten their day as well as your own.

November 5 and Fabulous Friday

Friday, November 05, 2010

What a busy week it's been. It's gone by fast though. I'm so glad it's Friday and I have a weekend to look forward to and relax in.

Today, we get our pictures taken for our ID cards. We need to wear our ID's at all times when in the complex. They will allow us to get from one area to the next as they will be also used as pass keys. Yay, no more keys!

At the moment, I phone the security station before leaving for work. They in turn meet us at the doors and let us in. Andrea and I have arranged to arrive at the same time so that the guard only needs to come and let someone in once. We then take care of letting the rest of the staff in. Hopefully by the end of this month, we'll have our cards.
We got our parking passes yesterday, which we hang from the mirror in our vehicles. It is such a huge complex that the library is only a small part of. I'm going to try and find the time today to get some pictures to share with you.
We are so thrilled with our new library. Even though there are some glitches in how things operate, it's still so worth the move.

My Positives:
It's Fabulous Friday.
A weekend ahead of me to look forward to.
Shy and I had lunch together yesterday, she even bought for her Mom! Bless her heart.
No snow.
A great visit with Kaeli yesterday.
I'm getting back on track with exercise and my nutrition. Sleep is even better now that the move is over.
Incredibly grateful to being alive and well.

Have a wonderfully fabulous Friday. Enjoy being alive.

Nov 04

Thursday, November 04, 2010

Good Morning everyone,

Usually warmer weather here. We are supposed to get up to +16 today and tomorrow and then it takes a major nosedive! I'll take all the warm weather we can get. Each day like this makes winter one day shorter! Sorry Marla...but I really am not a big fan of winter. If winter was only a couple of months maybe I could be persuaded that it's wonderful, but when it last 5 to 6 months...not so much!

Things are pretty good at work. I am able to go all day without having to wear my respirator mask. That is, provided I stay upstairs. The stair wells are still bad for me and the lower level in the children's area. The plus side, it's getting better for me to breath.

My positives:
Beautiful warm weather.
Breathing much better at work.
Catching up on the back log, although there is still lots to do, it's not so overwhelming as it was.
Hopefully time for a walk on my lunch break today. Yesterday, I had to settle for a shorter walk outside than I had planned. But that's okay, at least I got outside.
Bills are all paid.
Just the insurance payment to come out of the bank and then the rest is for Christmas.
I'm learning to really appreciate all the little things in my daily life that make my life such a blessing.

Have a wonderful day, keep on moving forward towards your goals.

Like you, Wanda, winter's not my favorite...and here it lasts about 3 months...which is 2 months and 30 days too long for me! :)

Glad your breathing better at work...Tonight is our big Open House for the new office and for the RV...though it starts in 21 minutes and the RV hasn't arrived...so...hmmmm...wonder how long I'll have to set up??? :)

Oh ... so envious of your 'warmer weather' ... we're down to zero and single digits at peak of the day and I've been scraping frost off my windshield! YIKES - so fast that happened. I still have herbs and kale and leeks in the garden to save!
