Half way mark in the month already. At work , I am now sitting in a huge basically empty space at a folding table with my laptop. Sure feels strange. One more week of being there and then I get to move over to the new location (I think

Monday, I will be heading over there for a couple of hours to see how I do and to attend training on our new telephone system. I'll hopefully be able to also do a walk through of the evacuation routes that we need to have in place for November 1. Sally and I had a great meeting with the county on what they already have in place for the complex and that has been a great help.

The girls and I had dinner out together before heading to Costco for their shopping. It was nice to have a "girl's time". I love that they want to spend time with Mom.

My brother and SIL arrived last night and are having a mini-vacation by staying at one of our local hotels. We are getting together with them for lunch today and will see if they want to come over for supper tonight. I've got a large pan of lasagna in the freezer that would make a great meal for more people than just Garry and I.

My positives:
Family time.
Being invited to have dinner out last night with the girls.
Our move at the library is going fairly smoothly and might even be a bit ahead of schedule.
Sunshine and nice temperatures.
A great sleep last night, now I'm ready for the day.
Our mortgage papers are all renewed, we are good to go once again.
Having one vehicle has been working out pretty good.
I have a new day ahead of me to make into a fantastic day, just by making choices that serve my higher being. I got the power! lol

Have a wonderful, fun filled day. Let your inner child out for some playtime.

Hugs,
Wanda

I think I'm going to have to make some post it notes to spatter around the house to remind me to find that silly. I've seen it around here a bit this morning. I've done a little playing. I just think that I'll forget the mission today if I don't see reminders all over. Thanks for your support. You are a very fine friend. HAve fun with your "peeps" and relax and enjoy your well deserved break in the action.
Love you.

Yay, it's Friday. This week has seemed to go on forever! It's been a busy week, but a long one.

My out of town brother and SIL are arriving in town tonight for the weekend. They are having a mini get-away, so will be staying in a hotel, but we'll have a chance to get together for a nice visit.

The girls have roped in my assistance in going to Costco after work today so they can do some shopping. Works for me, they get the items they need at less expense and I get to spend some time with my girls.

Temperatures are on the cool side this morning, but that's only supposed to last for the a couple of days and then the weather warms up once again. This is the strangest weather patterns I've ever seen. October has been nicer weather than August or September. I'm not complaining mind you, I'm thrilled. Each day like this is one day less of winter.

My positives:
It's Friday!
A weekend to look forward to, time with family.
No major projects planned, that doesn't mean though that there aren't any that have to be done. lol
Garry has tomorrow off work, yay.
God, who brings to light information that I need to access and helps me to absorb it and move forward with it.

Have a Fabulous Friday, keep being excited about your life.

Hugs,
Wanda

We had a lovely time at my brothers last evening. It was great to reconnect with a cousin that I hadn't seen since we were about 12. She and her husband were in Edmonton visiting with their daughter. Such a small world, family everywhere!

Our desks and computers got moved over to the new location yesterday. What a crazy day it was. I am now sitting at a temporary table with my laptop, so at least I can still do what needs to be done. When the movers come in, they certainly have a system of moving things rapidly. Pretty much boxes left to be moved now.

I have a safety meeting at 9 am this morning over at the county offices, hopefully we will be able to make some head way on evacuation plans. We need to have evacuation plans in place before opening day on Nov. 1.

My positives:
Reconnecting with relatives.
Payday was yesterday, YAY, groceries!
Phone call from my other brother and he and his wife will be in town this weekend.
I was able to persuade my hubby to read a book that I thought would be good for him to read....and he is enjoying it.
Being alive.

Have a wonderful day, keep moving towards your goals of being healthy.

Hugs,
Wanda

I loved your blog - really positive. I am going to try and list my positives at the end of my blog - I have been doing them more like that in my journal but would make sense to do them in the blog. Best wishes, I hope you have a lovely weekend xx

Nice trick getting Garry to read! I love when that happens! Kudos to you for even trying. You did it! You reminded me of the time I tricked Tim into reading by asking him to read a book aloud to me for some quality time. That trick didn't work for long before he caught on to my scheme. Sounds like things are moving along with the move. (Ms. Safety and Evacuation specialist, I hope your meeting went well this morning and that folks with disabilities will indeed be allowed on the upper tier!)
It's a great day to be alive. Aren't they all? Enjoy your evening. Be good to my friend!
Love,
Nancy

Today is our departments moving day. When I get in to work, I'll need to disassemble all my computer equipment and pack it up as well as make sure all the contents of my desk that I won't need over the next couple of weeks are packed and ready to go. There are items that I will need to keep aside, as I will need them at this location.
Bonus side to all this, I won't have to set everything back up...my co-workers have volunteered to get that done for me. YAY.

Tonight, we are heading to St. Albert to my brother's place to get together with my aunt and uncle and a cousin that we haven't seen for far too many years. It will be nice to touch base once again. It won't be a late night as Garry and I have to work tomorrow, as well as my brother. But I'm sure it will be fun.

My Positives:
Moving day for our department is finally here. One step closer to be done with the move.
Gorgeous weather we are having...we are having nicer weather than we had in August and September.
Halloween candy is purchased and waiting for all the little ones to come knocking on the door. I miss the days of popcorn balls and puffed wheat cake. Such a loss of innocence in our society, all because of a few who thought it was funny to put dangerous things into children's Halloween fun.
I have a lovely greek salad already to take for lunch today. Low-cal dressing included.
Yay, it's Wednesday, half the work week is done! lol
All the blessings that come my way each and every day. From the quiet time first thing in the morning, to the smiles and greetings through out my day to a nice warm and comfy bed to crawl into at night.

Have a wonderfully blessed day. It's the little things that make the most impact.

Hugs,
Wanda

I hope you are making wonderful memories with family this evening. Sounds delightful. I had a nice day. (I'm going to go blog about it before I hit the hay.) I was missing you as I went around sparking this afternoon. And then I remembered, "have you read Wanda's blog today?" I didn't have time this morning. No wonder I was missing you! Thanks for your faithfulness in sharing the journey. It keeps me steady. Have a great sleep and I look forward to reports of you exciting move.
Love,
Nancy

Later starting hours....

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

This week begins my later starting hours at work. For the next two weeks I will be starting later and working later. We need the coverage of hours during the transition and because I'm the person that gets to stay at the old location until the end of the month, I'm it.
I was still awake though at my usual time of 4:30 am, it felt strange to not be getting up. My body was ready to go.

Each week over a 6 week period, each department is suppling snacks for the staff room at each location. Mainly as a way of showing support for the staff members that may not be getting their usual breaks or lunch times, but also just because its what we do. The department usually assigns specific days to members of their staff and they bring something in. Today is my day and I'm taking fruit baskets. There has been so much "junk" food that it's time we had some healthier food showing up. I've got grapes, bananas, oranges and apples. At least I'll have some healthy snacks!

My positives:
A beautiful long weekend off work, sunshine and lovely tempertures. I did need a jacket on to sit outside, but it sure was nice to be outdoors on the back deck reading.
Healthy snacks going with me to work this morning.
A lovely evening to look forward to tomorrow. We are getting together with my aunt and uncle, brother and sister-in-law and a cousin that I haven't seen for many years.
Discovered that there is a learning center in the city that provides some very interesting courses starting in January 2011. I've requested a calendar and prices list.
I'm moving forward.
So grateful for lessons and blessings that come my way.

Have a wonderful Tuesday all. Live in the moment, yesterday is done, tomorrow isn't guaranteed.

Hugs,
Wanda

I hope you adjust to the new times so that you can make the most of a later start. I'm sure everyone will enjoy their fruity treats. :-)
I shall think of you browsing through the Learning Centre's calendar. They can be a real treasure-trove of goodies. :-)

Great job on the fruit baskets. My "team" is suppose to supply lunch on Friday for our office. Maybe I can inspire my team to think healthy!

I hope the change in hours works to your benefit while it lasts. Enjoy your day!

Joan went part-time a few months ago at the bank. There was an opening at a branch a few blocks from the house and her starting hours are later. She loves it. There isn't always this mad dash for her to get out of bed in the morning and have to rush out the door. She can enjoy her coffee and newspaper and get stuff done before she goes to work

She loves it
