Good morning. After Nancy made her list, I made mine, and several others made theirs. It was a great way to get to know some spark friends better and put some fun in my day. Thanks for getting us all started. Have a great Wednesday and a super rest of the week.

That is very cool Wanda. I love the names of the places you have lived, especially Uranium City. Was it at one time a prospecting city?

Joan and I have talked about taking a motor home trip on Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles but every time we get ready to one of the kids decides to get married and we have to start saving for all of that.

Nice blog. I enjoy getting insight into other folks

October 4th

Monday, October 04, 2010

Well holidays are officially over and it's back to work this morning. Sigghhhh!
On the other hand, it will be an exciting and busy month as we begin our move to our new library.
I will try and take some pictures to share with you all.

We are down to one vehicle as Garry sold his car to our son. This will be an interesting case of logistics seeing as I need to be at work about 3.5 hours earlier than Garry. It can work out fine though, as long as Garry is ready to leave the house no later than 8am. I can slip away from work on my break and pick him up, he can drop me back at work and head for his own work. I can either walk home, which is about a 30 minutes walk or he can pick me up and drop me at home depending on the weather. It can work!

My Positives:
A great week off work and now I'm recharged and ready to face work once again.
An exciting time to look forward to as each day will be bringing something new I'm sure.
Thanksgiving Weekend coming up this weekend, so next week will be a short week for work. Yes, Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving in October! lol
Our son is home from up north and starts his new job today. He got on as an apprentice pipefitter. It will be interesting to see how well he enjoys it...might be a deciding factor on whether he heads by up north again in the spring.
I love having all my children close by.
I'm happy to be back and in communication with you all again.

Have a wonderful and blessed day,

Hi Wanda. Happy back to work! I trust your day went well. I like that you are facing your vehicle challenge with a positive approach. Only way to go. Just think of all the pounds eliminated by walking. It's so cold up there you will be walking really fast! Time for my slumber. I hope to spend a moment with you tomorrow.

Sounds like you are on your way to having a truly blessed day and week!
Enjoy the beautiful Autumn weather and have a Happy Thanksgiving on Monday. *sigh* I do like having Thanksgiving in October.....it's so much better without the snow on the ground (at least, here in SW Ontario there usually isn't snow....)!

I'm back!

Sunday, October 03, 2010

Good Morning everyone;

I'm back and feeling much more rested and settled. I could still use another week off, but that isn't going to happen any time soon, so I will just be appreciative of the time that I did have off.

Spent much of my time off, reading, meditating and helping Garry to finish some reno projects...lots still left to do, but so glad that we got the ones done that we have. Now we can clean up those areas and just enjoy them.

Garry wasn't able to get much time off (that's his place of work for you). So we took what time he could get off each day and worked with that. It did mean that we were not able to get to see his folks as much as we had wanted to. Had to make do with phone calls and more promises. His Dad is doing okay and if all works out Garry will be able to go done on his next weekend off work. Weather needs to continue to cooperate and we'll be good.

Friday, I did go in to work for a wee bit. Our department was offered the chance to go and tour our new library. It was a chance for me to see how I would fair in the new environment. I took a breathing mask with me to be on the safe side. Only had to use in a few times, so the atmosphere was not as bad as we were worried about. By the end of October when I actually get to be in the building, we are very hopeful that I won't have to wear a mask at all. ( At least in our department) YAY!

I managed to read some great books while on holidays. Even managed to spend money on a whole list of books that I've been wanting to add to my personal collection for study purposes and knowledge. One of the best ones that I read(I had actually borrowed it from the library....but ended up buying my own copy) was "The Secret Language of Your Body" by Inna Segal. This is a book that you will want to have in your own collection.
I also had time to do some online research into courses for herbal healing/homepathy and natural medicines. An area that seems to be drawing me in deeper and deeper. My meditation time has given me some further clarity on the direction I'm to walk and that was much valued. I am feeling more confident in the monumental changes that I know are coming into our lives and am laying the ground work and building a firm foundation for these changes.

These next few weeks will be very busy ones at work. We are now in the process of moving things and although I will have a weeks worth of work to catch up on starting tomorrow...I will need to remember to be flexible through out each day. Our moving schedule of items seems to change from moment to moment. I don't know how long I will actually have a desk to work at, I may find myself using a folding table temporarily. lol

Well it's time to tackle my in box and see what you have all been up to this past week. Thank you so much to everyone who worked hard at keeping things moving forward with the team. It was so nice to be able to leave everything and not worry about the team. You've all blessed me considerably.

My positives:
The opportunity to walk away from the computer and not feel obligated.
A great and restful week off.
Having had the opportunity to walk through our new facility (which I will need a map for if I don't want to get lost!)
Clarity on many fronts.
The best week ever of summer weather....amazing ! We actually had warm weather and sunshine the whole time I was off! Woo Hoo! Our weather was warming this past week than it has been the whole month of August and part of September.
Feeling recharged...trusting that it lasts longer than one day back at work! lol
Time to get some home projects completed.
Lots of reading time and research time that was uninterrupted.
Being so blessed.

Missed you all, hope you have a wonderful serenity Sunday.

Welcome back. I am glad that you gave yourself time to recharge and relax. But I'm even more glad that your smiling "face" and positive attitude are back on my computer. Enjoy your Sunday. I am going to make mine a good one.

ps the suit is for this weekend's homecoming dance. A fancy affair. Too fancy for my tastes, but James needed a suit and this is as good an excuse as any to fill that need. I got lucky! 50 bucks and it fits him perfectly. It's a nice suit.

I'll be away for a few days...

Friday, September 24, 2010

I'm running a bit behind schedule today, but that's okay...I'm on HOLIDAYS!

Thought I would get a blog in before taking time away from the computer and everything else that places demands on my time. Garry and I are heading out today on a few days of spending time together and relaxing.

My Positives:
The sun is shining...great start to my holidays!
Time with family.
A great team that I know will keep things running.
Green tomatoes are all canned either as relish or salsa. Here's hoping they taste good now after all that effort! lol
Being blessed with time.

Have a wonderful next few days...I'll see you all on the 4th of October.

Yay, almost holiday time!

Thursday, September 23, 2010

As of the end of my work day today, I will be on holidays from work until October 4th. YAY! Holiday time.

I'll be online for tomorrow and Saturday for sure and then will be away. I'll post next weeks challenge, Shirl will continue with Saturday and Sunday challenges, Monday and Tuesday challenges will be whomever wants to do them, Wednesday and Thursday challenges are Mauri, Friday's are Janet. Marla has offered to do the Positive Quotes of the day, and Nancy has offered to do the weekly challenge for October 2. Thank you all for helping out.

We will be heading to check on Garry's folks in Saskatchewan and if time allows one of his aunts. After that, we have no major plans, only a bit of time to take for ourselves.

Today I need to finish packing up what I can at my desk at work and leaving things ready in case there is a change in the moving schedule and things in our department start to move over sooner than we expect.

My Positives:
Last day at work for a few days.
Sunshine predicted for today and possibly temperstures in the two digits! Woo Hoo.
I'm tired from not sleeping well last night, but I've only today to get through and then a lovely nap to look forward to when I get home.
All my green tomato salsa fixings are all prepared and ready for me to begin canning.
Being blessed with another day of life.

Have a wonderful day, keep on moving towards your goals.

What on earth will I do without your smiling face on my page? I'll just come over here and read some old stuff and make a comment here and there. Maybe splatter your page with some pirate emoticons or the like. I'm sure I'll figure it out. Perhaps I'll catch you tomorrow morning. I took a job for the afternoon, but I'll have a little time in the morning.
Have a great evening.
