Yesterday morning started off great until I went to go to work. My battery was dead for some unknown reason in my vehicle. We had noticed some problems during the weekend with it starting, but it still started. I had to go and wake up my hubby to tell him I was taking his vehicle and that mine was dead. Not what a person wants to hear upon waking...but no choice..I needed to get to work.
Garry was able to get it boosted and he took it to his work with him. It's still in the shop as they try to figure out why the battery went dead. So this morning, I will drive Garry's car once again.
How blessed we are to have two vehicles, and Garry being able to bring a vehicle home from his work so he has transportation.

I've been collecting points when I shop at one of the grocery stores, and decided that now would be a great time to perhaps use some of them. I've been contemplating getting a food processor to assist in some of my canning this year. Yay, they have one in their rewards catalogue, so I'm thinking it will be a good opportunity to get one without forking out any money. I'm going to check the brand out on the internet first though to be sure that it will be all that I'm hoping it will be. Love when things happen like this!

My positives:
Having two vehicles.
Finally found something I want to spend my points on! lol
Lunch date with Shyra today.
Waking up and feeling like I had a great sleep last night.
Exercises complete for this morning.
Being so wonderfully blessed.

Nature has finally gotten it right! Sunshine during the day, rain at night!

I love the sound of rain as you are going to sleep. There is something so soothing about it.
It's hard to tell what sort of a day today will be, it's still dark outside as I'm getting ready to head for work. The sun won't be making an appearance for a good hour yet.

Long weekend is over and it's time to head back to work. We will be short staffed for most of this month as co-workers are taking their holidays. Only 2 more months until we begin the move to our new library. Then things will really be busy!

My positives:
A nice restful weekend.
Re-connected to the internet on my laptop. YAY...I had inadvertantly hit a button that turned off my connect. So glad it was nothing serious.
Got lots of "stuff" sorted through in the computer room yesterday. Wow, I don't know why we've kept so much of it. It no longer seems important enough to have kept! lol
A new day, new opportunities to get excited about life.

Sounds like a good start to your work week. Your sorting resonated here. Why do we keep that stuff? Sometimes it's so curious as to why we thought we needed that at the time. (in the video, you can see when they add the "stinkometer." When it blooms it gives off an odor of rotting flesh that attracts insects, who lay their eggs in the plant and the plant proceeds to use that for nutrition. Lois isn't dead, her bloom has withered. Holiday Monday

It's a holiday Monday here and I'm enjoying the beginning of a short work week.

We had some thunder and a bit of rain again last night, this morning is lovely and sunny.
Glanced out my kitchen window this morning to see our neighbors dog up on their picnic table having a wonderful time eating the tomatoes that they have growing . The parents are away and the daughter is house sitting. Oops! Seeing as they are green tomatoes and depending on how many Barnie actually got to, I'm thinking he might be having a bit of a tummy ache soon!

Well, I got my new computer yesterday...a lovely laptop. Had Kaeli and Matt come over and help me get it all set up...YAY...this morning I have no internet connection on it. It tells me that something is wrong with the "homegroup" connection. So I'm back on the PC after trying everything I know how to get "re-connected" to the internet. I'll have to give Kaeli a call later this morning and request assistance once again.

I'm looking forward to having the laptop and being able to use it.

My positives:
Getting a new computer, even though I haven't been able to "play" on it much yet.
A day spent with my hubby (actually two days...yesterday and today)
Quin might be home at the end of this week for a few days break. We'll know more on Wednesday.
Garry's sisters phoned yesterday and are planning on coming for a visit on the 13/14.
Phone call from a dear friend in BC yesterday, letting me know that they are all okay as yet. The fires are surrounding them and about 40 km away. There are more firefighters being shipped in from Ontario to assist. Rod and Hazel are making a trip out this way and will be stopping in on the 18th/19th. YAY.
Won a free play on my lotto ticket..Woo Hoo! (hey, at least I won something! lol)
A new day, new opportunities to be a creator of my life.

Yay for the new laptop. We are having company come Aug. 13, Clenton's daughter and SIL from TN will be here for a visit, she wanted to be here for her dad's birthday Aug. 19, he'll be 85. Glad that you had a holiday sleep in this morning. (anything past 4:30 is a sleep in for you, right?) You'll get that laptop in order before long. Just gotta get the kinks out. I am not going to rewrite the whole thing...Instead I will just reposted the pictures I was going to share.

Our summer so far:

A visit from our granddaughter..awonderful surprise visit at that. Shavon is as tall as her Auntie Shyra now and was delighted to have the proof in a picture. Shavon is 12, 13 this September.



Garry's fishing trip up north to where our son works. This is a picture flying over the Athabasca Sand dunes. They are so beautiful...the sand is fine, like powdered sugar and has a beautiful red tint to it. Hard to believe that there is actually a "desert" in the north!



Our son doing what he loves best...fishing and guiding! Nothing like open water and fresh air!

Sorry that you lost all your hard work. Thanks for putting in the extra effort to post your pictures. HAPPY AUGUST! Today is Mary's 20th birthday. No longer a teenager. (I'm trying not to feel old. I'll do my best) I made my meal plan for the week. It took a long time, but it will translate into easy menu copy and paste in the weeks to come. I'll go check out this week's challenge and then I have to run to Walmart and get some ink for my dried up printer so that I can print out my fabulous grocery list as generated by the nice folks at the spark people! Boy did we have a boomer come through around 7:30pm last evening. The girls and I had just made it home from wandering around the CapitolX grounds with about 10 minutes to spare.
The only plus side that we found with this years exhibition...getting walking in. Everything was so expensive and there really wasn't much else to do if you were not interested in "ify rides" or "winning stuffed/vinyl toys". We did the tour of the "dream home", let's just say that left all of us very disappointed. I had bought tickets on the home, more as a support for our local Lions Club, but because the house was built "green"...I was rather excited about it. What a disappointment. Green does not have to equate to ugly. We weren't looking for mega or fancy...just something that said ...this is nice. As a cabin at the lake...it could be okay, but as family home....it's only two bedrooms and they are very small, lots of wasted space on the upper level...that didn't really seem to have a purpose, the putting green on the roof....well, let's just say, already looks worn out from people walking on. So disappointed....I just hope they make some money on the ticket sales to support their causes.

My positives:

Lots of walking exercise in yesterday.
The girls and I missed the boomer and downpour with a good 10 minutes to spare! Yay...we didn't get soaked.
Laundry well on it's way to being completed.
Looks like a nice sunny day is in store today.
With all the rain last evening...I don't have to water the garden today! I love when nature does the job for me. lol
Being so blessed....thank you God.
